Data Viz, Flow Charting, MindMapping and More All In One Tool

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart stands out from other alternatives in that users can rapidly create beautiful flow charts for technical processes, business workflows, and more. Arrows connect your flowsheet blocks seamlessly, and users can add rules-based formatting of the shapes, which saves lots of time. The added element of data linking to help with creating real-time Dashboards is also a major plus for those that are looking for something more custom and better looking than what is provided stock by other dashboard-building apps. My team is not in the habit of using LucidSpark for virtual whiteboarding, but I've been attempting to push the group in this direction due to it's collaborative nature.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the data-linking aspect works great for those who are versed with it, mapping a datasheet to dozens of different shapes within your flowsheet/dashboard can be tedious. It can also take a bit to get the hang of, in terms of how Lucidchart wants you to map the data. Once it's set-up correctly and your shapes are adjusting with your data, it's great. One other aspect specifically with regards to rapid mindmapping/brainstorming is the element of auto-formating/spacing. Some simpler tools allow users to focus more on the content of the brainstorm session, and less on the formatting/moving shapes around. Perhaps there's an auto-spacing (i.e. pressing "insert" inserts new shapes and folds it in regularly shapped with your other bubbles) option, but I haven't found it yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is currently serving two functions A) technical mapping of engineering processes, including flows into/out of a given system (i.e. reactor, compressor, etc). B) open-ended brainstorming of anything from this year's goals to new materials to test in the lab.

New Lucid User

What do you like best about the product?
I think that the Lucid templates will be useful for cross-departmental work flows. The formatting is pleasant, and the user interface is easier to use than PowerPoint. I used to have a back office team working on graphics and would have to go back and forth to make any changes. I can use Lucid independently and can implement changes on my own. Overall I'm glad to have this resource available for visual representations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the labeling on the templates and descriptions of these could at times be more helpful. I am a new user, but find that I have to open them up to understand if they will be useful for my needs as much. My department will not use this tool frequently, so the licensing cost would probably not be merited if it was only for us (which is is not). My having this tool available is the useful byproduct of my co-workers using it more often than I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid will help me put together diagrams for diligence, org charts, presentations and cross-departmental task organization work flows.

Incredible capabilities, with an non-intuitive interface.

What do you like best about the product?
We use Lucid charts for our telemed business. Lucid allows us to whip up clear, concise flowcharts and process maps, which makes managing patient care and treatment a breeze. Plus, it’s great for visualizing and analyzing patient data, helping us make better decisions. Being cloud-based means we can access important info from anywhere, which is perfect for remote telehealth work!
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, I was excited about the potential for collaboration in our telehealth team, but the reality has been disappointing. The learning curve is steep; many of my colleagues, who are not particularly tech-savvy, struggled to navigate the interface, which often feels cluttered and overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a telehealth professional, I've found that the Lucid has been a game-changer for our team's orginizationand patient care. The platform has solved several critical problems we were facing, and the benefits have been substantial, I just with the UI was easier to understand & train on.

Also - new products/services & the plans to go from marketing to fufillment.

AI Feature is the winner

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the AI feature. It's probably my most-used feature. Especially helpful when you need to put together a windy flowchart, this tool is great to use in whole, or even as a starting point to be able to build off. Also allows for tweaking as required, which you can do via the AI tool, or even manually - whatever works best for you. LOVE this, has saved me so much time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of features, which is great, of course, but can make it a little bit much to wrap your head around when you first start using it. There are tutorial boxes that pop up which is helpful, but so many more features that will take a little bit more time to figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is really helping us with simplifying quite complex documents by translating them into a visual and easy-to-read form, which ultimately is assisting with smoothing out our internal processes.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Lucid is those who have access to the flow that can add more values and idea to the flow
What do you dislike about the product?
We experience lag when more than 5 collaborators are adding ideas on the same page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to see the problem in our process and Lucid gave us a clearer picture on how to fix the broken process

What do you like best about the product?
Most important thing is the ease with which I can create effective graphics. One can easily beautify it just per your demands, whether it be professional or artistic. Lucid covers a wide array of diagramming.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's integration with Google Docs could be updated or made as per the latest docs version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides easy to make simple diagrams that can be integrated with docs and ppts really easily. Another imp thing is that it allows downloads in various formats which can be useful in various scenarios.

Lucid Chart has been invaluable for me because it helps us visualize the complex then simplify it.

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid ensures that we're able to get a complete concept out on 'paper' and then edit it as we go. The tool-set has made it easy to no underestimate the complexity of big ideas. Also, we've been able to collaborate efficiently across the country and even worldwide team members to get buy-in on our ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
If someone isn't familiar with using swimlanes in flowcharts, there is a learning curve for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that the Lucid suite has solved for us is ensuring we are able to capture complex concepts then share them across our team. This ensures we haven't missed a critical step. Having a visual tool also allows us to see duplication and create efficiencies in our processes.
