Diagram done right

What do you like best about the product?
Besides the overall basic features, which are based on industry standards, Lucid goes further by adding innovative generative technology to make my life simpler and minimize the need to deal with technicalities. For SQL requests, for example, I only needed to provide an overview, and the application was able to generate a usable schema. The integration with my existing ecosystem was seamless, requiring no buffer to edit or transform my data for use. This functionality is something my team frequently uses to conduct experiments quickly and efficiently. We also used the collaborative whiteboard, which was easy to implement as it behaves exactly like our physical board. We had no need for customer support as the tool's documentation was more than sufficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The organization of the templates and features could benefit from better structure to allow quicker access to what we need. It just takes some time to remember where everything is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our client wanted a print out of our sql tables and entites, it was so complex that basic functionalities from other tools couldn't solve our need for readability. The tools provided by Lucid made that possible, between the generative functions and the other tools, the solution was achieved in a much quicker way than doing things manually.

User Experience, User Support and Templates
What do you dislike about the product?
Need more integrations across applications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Essential for Streamlining Risk Management Processes

  • September 20, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Lucid's Visual Collaboration Suite has transformed our workflow and it really helps my IT security team immensely by making it so much easier for anybody to just jump into the interface and get started using it. The implementation and the Integration into our existing toolset was quite seamless and their customer support were really helpful and assistive during the entire implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes large files take a bit of time to load, and sometimes that slows my workflow. Also, the labeling could be clearer for quicker access would be a great improvement, as sometimes I take longer than I would like to locate specific tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid clears the barriers in communications between our security programs. With data visualization, the tool helps us communicate those complex ideas into the team for a better understanding of how to keep things aligned for fast decision-making. It's one of the keys to efficiency and operational risk management.

Easy to you and Large Variety

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid has been a great tool to use for our company. We have been able to build large organizaation charts to allow us to see the bigger picture.. It has been easy to use as far as building exactly what we want and is pretty self explanatory. There are many great options for shapes, sizes and colors so that you can build exactly what we want. One thing we love is we can also do collaborations and presentations to others so that everyone can see the same screen.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing that isn't great is that once your chart uses so many boxes you have to upgrade and there isn't a way to allow a company to all use the same account from what I've found.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to use it to map out and actually see what we are working on all together. We love how it all can come back together and collapse so it isn't as overwhelming.

  • September 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, you don't need any training to get started. Even the free version allows collaboration and exporting the charts in various formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting the charts on a detailed level, esp coloring components, could be made more intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create transparency over the end-to-end customer journey, over various departments (depicted as swim lanes). This helps us to identify and formalize handshakes in the process

I enjoy creating UMLs and flow diagrams to effectively plan my programming projects. It felt very simple to use to convey the project idea with my teammate. I could always come back to it whenever I have a new idea.
What do you dislike about the product?
A minor issue I have with Lucid is the lack of customization when it comes to shortcuts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving a clean and simple way to create effective UML diagrams that allow creativity.

Data Viz, Flow Charting, MindMapping and More All In One Tool

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart stands out from other alternatives in that users can rapidly create beautiful flow charts for technical processes, business workflows, and more. Arrows connect your flowsheet blocks seamlessly, and users can add rules-based formatting of the shapes, which saves lots of time. The added element of data linking to help with creating real-time Dashboards is also a major plus for those that are looking for something more custom and better looking than what is provided stock by other dashboard-building apps. My team is not in the habit of using LucidSpark for virtual whiteboarding, but I've been attempting to push the group in this direction due to it's collaborative nature.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the data-linking aspect works great for those who are versed with it, mapping a datasheet to dozens of different shapes within your flowsheet/dashboard can be tedious. It can also take a bit to get the hang of, in terms of how Lucidchart wants you to map the data. Once it's set-up correctly and your shapes are adjusting with your data, it's great. One other aspect specifically with regards to rapid mindmapping/brainstorming is the element of auto-formating/spacing. Some simpler tools allow users to focus more on the content of the brainstorm session, and less on the formatting/moving shapes around. Perhaps there's an auto-spacing (i.e. pressing "insert" inserts new shapes and folds it in regularly shapped with your other bubbles) option, but I haven't found it yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is currently serving two functions A) technical mapping of engineering processes, including flows into/out of a given system (i.e. reactor, compressor, etc). B) open-ended brainstorming of anything from this year's goals to new materials to test in the lab.

New Lucid User

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think that the Lucid templates will be useful for cross-departmental work flows. The formatting is pleasant, and the user interface is easier to use than PowerPoint. I used to have a back office team working on graphics and would have to go back and forth to make any changes. I can use Lucid independently and can implement changes on my own. Overall I'm glad to have this resource available for visual representations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the labeling on the templates and descriptions of these could at times be more helpful. I am a new user, but find that I have to open them up to understand if they will be useful for my needs as much. My department will not use this tool frequently, so the licensing cost would probably not be merited if it was only for us (which is is not). My having this tool available is the useful byproduct of my co-workers using it more often than I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid will help me put together diagrams for diligence, org charts, presentations and cross-departmental task organization work flows.
