Great for clear, concise flowcharts for business processes.
What do you like best about the product?
As a professional working in risk analysis and cross-functional project teams, I appreciate how Lucid makes it easy to align people and ideas visually. What I like best is its real-time collaboration capabilities—our team can work on the same diagram or process flow simultaneously, which streamlines decision-making and reduces miscommunication. I also use Lucidchart and Lucidspark frequently for different purposes: Lucidchart for creating detailed process maps and data flows, and Lucidspark for brainstorming sessions. The wide variety of templates (like customer journey maps and swimlane diagrams) saves time and ensures visual consistency. Plus, the integration with Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and Slack enhances our workflow without needing to constantly switch between platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the suite is very powerful, some of the more advanced features—like conditional formatting or automated data linking—require a bit of a learning curve, especially for new team members. The pricing can also be a barrier for smaller teams or individuals; we had to evaluate carefully before upgrading to a team plan. Occasionally, I’ve noticed that performance can lag a bit when working on very large diagrams with many collaborators, which can be disruptive in time-sensitive meetings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid has helped us solve several collaboration-related challenges, especially around remote teamwork, process transparency, and onboarding. Before using Lucid, documenting and explaining complex workflows or risk assessments required long written reports that weren’t always easy to interpret. Now, we use Lucidchart to visually communicate risk matrices and mitigation workflows, which has improved stakeholder understanding and buy-in significantly. During workshops, we use Lucidspark for ideation, which helps everyone—whether in-office or remote—contribute in real time.
It’s also been a major help with cross-functional projects, where teams from different departments need to see how their work fits together. By using Lucid to map systems and responsibilities, we’ve reduced overlap and caught process bottlenecks early.

Solid option for visualizing org charts, processes, etc
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the learning curve is fairly quick to get started and that you can collaborate with other team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be intimidating to use it as it has so many features and templates so difficult to sometimes get started without breaking a template or what not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic org charts, business operations processes/procedures, mapping out customer journeys
Excellent accessability, hoping for more
What do you like best about the product?
I loved the multiple ways to create easy flow charts that map to my thinking perfectly! The templates are also very useful. I love the collaborative aspects and the UI is quite intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could turn off the 'snap' feature for the arrows. Diagonal arrows would be very helpful for my use cases. The AI feature needs some tuning before it can be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves my need for focus and helps with explaining ideas to other collaborators. I am glad it is intuitive and it helps with quick brainstorming.
Took a while to learned, but cool feature
What do you like best about the product?
The final product of using these tools looks very professional, it took me a little bit to figure out how to use the software to get the results I want, but I’m very happy with how it looks
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess the hardest thing for me is it wasn’t super intuitive. I was trying to get into things that I couldn’t figure out, and that was the most frustrating part. Eventually, I did figure it out just took me longer than I had hoped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was trying to make a very simple spider diagram or a cloud diagram and I just couldn’t get it to look the way that I wanted to look. It wasn’t super intuitive.
Very intuitive workspace
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid is very easy to use and learn. The interface is well thought out. Members with different levels of technology proficiency from our team were able to use it quite quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really! There's always a few hiccups when you have many people working together in real time on one board, but that's just human error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us all work together in real time, from different places around the world.
A large quantity of useful templates but still falls into the same UX pitfalls as similar software
What do you like best about the product?
There are lots of templates and icons to choose from which can save time making assets or tracking them down on the internet.
Generally works as well as any other diagramming software you can buy.
Generally works as well as any other diagramming software you can buy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lucidchart sufferers from the issues that all diagramming software has. It is design and layout first and the relationships between items are an afterthought. Honestly it's not that much better than just using photoshop or google drawing. I really wish there was a program that cared about the underlaying relationships of the data that is being presented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is a good enough solution for making flow charts and other diagrams. It helps save some time but I wouldn't say it is pleasant to use.
Cool & easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to work together with team members!
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some problems users doing multiple changes at once that they are causing conflicts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration
Was given the software instead of Visio for creating flow charts
What do you like best about the product?
I like that many people can share a project. Sharing a program that all can use and change as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slighter bigger leap in training that I was expecting. I did sit through the 2 hour training session, but until you are using it, it's difficult to retain all of the uses and the ease of the use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are mapping out the process for NEPA and how all of the federal agencies work together and what is required by each to create a flow chart.
Lucid for Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
I personally love the variety of options for shapes, colors, and more! I also like being able to edit the document in real time with my colleagues. It is easy to use. I picked it up in 1-2 hours and it has improved my team's quality of work dramatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to find unique shapes, however once found I can always copy and paste between boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can illustrate workflows for our clients so that they are able to work more efficiently. It is benefitting us because we are able to deliver high quality workflows, with a simple and collaborative tool.
Easy to use, not lacking in features

The controls can be quite bulky, there were many times where I would select the wrong item without meaning to.
