Essential tool for my day to day job!
What do you like best about the product?
It is very user-friendly and easy to create a flow within minutes. I usually build the flow while talking with customers and make sure that everyone is on the same page while designing architectures.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I would spend some time looking for a specific feature (ie. cosmetic stuffs in the flows).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building architectures, interactions with systems, or business flows.
Great diagramming tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's SaaS cloud based tool that can be accessed easily through any devices via web browser. Toolkit has a lot of functions to facilitate collaborations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a diagramming tool and not really an architecture modeling tool, and so not 100% meeting the needs of architects in the software industry. Because it's not a modeling tool, Lucid Chart cannot person technology analysis and reporting functions that would make it invaluable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a sound software architecture diagramming tool that facilitate ease of collaborations internal and external to our team. Lucid Chart fits that need very well to get us started, but as we mature a true architecture modeling tool to supplement or replace will still be necessary.
Easy to use tool
What do you like best about the product?
The simplistic product and way to collaborate as a team
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't tried, but I would like to see if importing from other tools would work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help with planning from product to engineering and devops, we are able to collaborate on the design of every step
Lucid review for project managers
What do you like best about the product?
I do like the templates and tutorials available. This makes it easier to navigate lucidchart and leverage its full functionality. The feature to upload and sync data is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I started using lucidchart after using vision and there was a little learning curve. The lines do not always connect to the shape right where I want it to, but delete the line and you be able to connect them find it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid chart is a great tool to collaborate and brainstorm. It helps put timelines and tasks into a visual for key stakeholders to understand. Visuals are powerful in getting the story across.
Very friendly and lot of template options to choose from.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of moving around while diagramming.
What do you dislike about the product?
Auto layout option must be available and that will help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps with wireframing current and future state process. And this is the day to day activity in the architecture world.
Lucid Chart - Preferred Network Diagramming Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid Chart is very Intuitive and provides the options required to cmplete my Network Diagrams. I found it to be a straight forward migration from other popular diagramming tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
For being a SaaS offering I find Lucid Chart lacking in the option to automatically provide 3rd party Stencels, but the option to manually import stencels exists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart makes sharing diagrams very easy with both team members and customers, including restrictions on file use. Having the online repository helps with sharing and file storage as well.
Excellent for easily creating charts, workflows, diagrams
What do you like best about the product?
While appearing simple, there are a lot of shortcuts/right click options you can use once you get the hang of the interface. I appreciate its seamless integration with Confluence. I love that I can see the mouse of the teammates working on the same chart with me.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no simple way to redirect all arrows pointing to one object, to point to another. Therefore, you'd need to redirect or redraw each one when your map changes. Additionally, I wish there was the option to save shapes with fonts as a default or custom shape. The workaround, which is easy though, is to always duplicate. I find it frustrating that I need to constantly change how I want my lines to attach from one object to another, and cannot default it to being without arrowheads the entire time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are connecting a wiki with a chart/workflow creation software, making it much easier for additional teammates to hop on and contribute. The ability to add "sheets" within one place also creates less of a mess when mapping out. I remember seeing lucidchart a while ago and within these few years, it has jumped leaps and bounds.
Lucidchart is a huge asset to teams looking to operate productively and efficiently!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility Lucidchart gives me as I am looking to model out a variety of business problems and projects. My team can collaborate together seamlessly on everything from workflows to product brainstorming sessions!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to think of any problems or reasons not to like Lucidchart. Some of the more custom shapes/templates could be a little easier to use and more customizable, but I do think the improvements and enhancements being introduced in each release are exciting!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart allows my team to work collaboratively on new product launches and problem solutioning. We leverage it as a tool for building workflows and understanding interactions between all the different parties or assets in a given solution. We will occasionally use it as a roadmapping tool to highlight dependencies and outstanding needs.
Review of Lucidspark
What do you like best about the product?
Met all our requirements for our PI Planning event. Simple to get access and collaborate, and relatively intuitive for all our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI didn't seem as "polished" as competitors. Available templates seemed a little lacking in both design and functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to be collaboartive in a virtual big-room planning session and Lucidspark is showing our dependencies and collaborations across multiple teams.
I use Lucid daily for software architecture (data flow) diagrams
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is that it's web-based, so I can access it anywhere I need. Because of this, it's also platform agnostic. We have a mix of Apple and Microsoft users in the company. I can export a PDF or JPG of a drawing to archive (or share). I can send a reviewers link to anyone needed. I also like online collaboration, although I don't use it as much. I also like the layers feature because I sometimes need to show or hide certain parts of the diagram easily. I wish there was a quick way to enable-all or hide-all when I have more than 3 or 4 layers. It would be extra cool if enabling "layer A" could also disable "layer C." Sometimes I have a diagram that will need either "layer A" or "layer C" but never both.
What do you dislike about the product?
Moving links (say, I have two icons or boxes connected by a link with arrows) is sometimes simple and painful. The link re-routes itself in crazy ways and looping around. I have to zoom into the drawing at the right place and untangle the link. While we have been able to import custom icons, they don't behave like the default sets (double-click to add a label), and I do not like how links attach. I haven't sorted out why. Perhaps we needed to build them differently or with a different tool?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Lucid daily for software architecture (data flow) diagrams. We create one for every client project and save them as the proposed (later the as-built) architecture for documentation purposes. We have standard, pre-approved, configurations that we desire to reuse and we have fully custom configurations that need to be documented.
