Better than Visio

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use within Lucidchart. I've always worked with Visio when creating networking diagrams, but this is just easier. It has all the stencils built into the product, making it easy to build charts using multiple vendor stencils. The collaboration/sharing aspect of Lucidchart makes it above its competitors. In half the time on Lucidchart, I was able to put together a diagram for Azure compared to Visio.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it does have a lot of stencils and images available, sometimes navigating to them can be a pain. So far I haven't found a way to "cluster" devices so that they're overlapping to express a cluster, this comes in handy when making network diagrams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was looking for alternatives to Visio, and this was the answer. With the collaboration aspect and accessibility to the stencils this makes the product much better than the alternative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go through the tutorials and the knowledge articles for Lucidchart. While it does differ a bit from Visio the more advanced functionality can easily be found in the documentation.

Some of the tools like drawing lines are a little hard to use but this is easy to work around
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laying out complex processes we follow at work to simplify them for new starters
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around with some of the features first and learn what the different shapes indicate

What do you like best about the product?
Stretchable and linkable boxes. also auto fill from a spreadsheet..
What do you dislike about the product?
The colors are not that great and lack variety.
The alignement of the cell is not the best or sizes could be standard.
The gap could be automatic then to be forced to move if required.
Same thing for the size.

Could have head count
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need a clear Diagramming every month. It works for me.
Org chart

Very helpful planning software

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of creating shapes and adding text while working. The shortcuts are very nice and easy to get the hang of.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version has very little. Maybe instead of capping the number of pages or assets you create as a whole, it could be daily, like three pages per day. I understand you're trying to make a living though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pre-production planning for content shoots. It gives a seamless way for everyone on the team to visualize from start to finish.

You want charts? Lucidchart does them right

  • December 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It makes excellent diagrams, images for standard tools are already available, creating flow is very intuitive! Because it always runs in the browser, there is little barrier to entry for getting started and presenting. Collaboration tools are also very convenient!
What do you dislike about the product?
While Lucidchart does offer an offline mode, I feel less secure using it than a native desktop application. A dedicated desktop application would be a nice touch. Perhaps I'm naive to assume that the performance could be slightly better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a DevOps engineer, diagraming and explaining the infrastructure is crucial. Lucidchart makes it easy to develop and plan infrastructure with a team and share that information with management.

    Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing

Really great tool

  • December 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility and collaboration better than Mural, plus with much more powerful drawing/diagramming feautures - prefer some aspects to Visio.

Plus, unlike Mural the diagram output is polished enough to copy/paste into presentations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm fairly new to the product but haven't seen any real limitations/constraints to the core product.

One minor niggle is the lack of a decent roadmap timescale object.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily using for roadmap planning activities/diagrams with varying degrees of information for different audiences. Lucidchart makes it relatively painless to do this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Demo it first

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the best for diagramming collaboratively

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart has an extensive library of standard shapes grouped in easy-to-find categories. If you are using shapes from different categories, it does an excellent job of putting these at the top for quick access.

It's also very easy to share and collaborate on documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting tools are somewhat basic and require a bit of effort to make your diagrams stand out. There aren't a lot of presets to use or style families to choose from, as you would find in similar products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A picture says a thousand words, and using diagrams to represent flows, logic, or systems is essential to convey large volumes of information without authoring a novel. Additionally, being able to collaborate with and review the work of others, ensures that you are as accurate as possible.
