Year and a half with Lucidchart

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Essentially the combination of both UML, relational and UI mockups all in one place. I can use Lucidchart for all phases of development without need for other analytical tools.

And then I can both collaborate with others and present my stuff with Lucidchart.

Also recently the integration with google documents, its extremely easy just sketch something and paste it into documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Iam all happy. I would preffer to have "prettier" UI elements. Also instead of image object, some mock image would be perfect. Maybe even some basic styling to be added, so I can present not only structure, but also a basic view (but without a need to write any css or stat stuff).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application development, mainly gaming, gambling and shopping. Analysis and then management of a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont worry about the switch, once you are there you have everything always accessible and on one place.

Excellent tool for quick diagrams

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is intuitive and very powerful, and there are lots of good features that make drawing connected diagrams very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the ability to add richer custom shapes, with connection points, text fields, alternative defaults for line style etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Lucid Chart for quickly sketching out system diagrams and database schematics. It is the quickest and most flexible tool I have come across.

Lucidchart in education process

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simple way how to make what I want. All time I need to express visually I am choosing the Lucidchart.
All works in easy way and brinks new possibilities. In my lessons I force students to learn Lucidchart as the ability to make diagrams and workflows are necessary skill.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes slow responses when working with Chrome. The working with images can be also improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly problems during education process. Working in GIScience where are high demands for workflows visualizations tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely the one of the best software for diagramming I ever met.

Easy to use and collaborative tool for your diagramming and flow needs

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its online and easy to use. I can use it on any machine that has browser and internet connection. Even if you have not used any diagramming softwares before, it is easy to learn within a couple of minutes and be in expert in just a few hours.

The best part it is collaborative, multiple people can work on it at the same time. Moreover it can be quickly shared within the organisation and outside the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
When multiple people are working on it, the refreshing is not that smooth and get laggy at times. Line drawing auto-conencting to objects can be improved. When there is an existing line it draws line all over even under another object.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an IT team, we need easy access to system connectivity charts, process flow and workflow documentation which is easily accessible. Moreover keeping it updated has always been a challenge as we end up having multiple pdf version all over our document portal.

With Lucidchart, updating is just a few clicks away and just one version of the document.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are heavy Visio, you can import almost all charts but be prepared to do some cleanup.

One great thing about this product is presentation, you can select portions to be visible and then reveal more objects as you present them. Imagine drawing up a data highway kind of chart for your IT environment.

Lucidchart is awesome

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are many advantages of Lucidchart:
- a huge amount of shapes available, from "classic" standards like UML and BPMN to iOS and Android system elements;
- versatile and easy to use shapes connection tool: creation of arrows and lines between the elements feels really natural.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have to mention some drawbacks (that drive me nuts sometimes):
- "snap to grid" might be inaccurate and snap shapes a couple of pixels away from destination, that is why I usually turn it off.
- the price is nearly the same as of competitors, although I would love to see more discounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The product is really versatile, so we prepare a set of different documents using Lucidchart: from website taxonomy and page mockups to mobile apps user flow reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've been working with this app for more than a year and have constantly seen improvements on all the sides. Previously I've tried Gliffy and Visio but they don't feel as natural as Lucidchart does. Don't hesitate to try it out, I believe you will love it.

Best Web

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to diagram my AWS infrastructure in clear and concise ways. The icons for Lucidchart have AWS official images and various other diagraming images. The product integrates well with Slack to share diagrams and collaborate, and even allows importing diagrams into Confluence. The newest feature to import from AWS is really solid (even though it is still in beta)! Lucidchart is much better than traditional products!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that it could load faster and was a bit more friendly when it came to dragging arrows around. I also wish there was a bit easier mobile app, but the desktop app in my opinion is near perfect! Other than this, the product is pretty rock solid for me!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Diagraming and documenting our infrastructure and technical solutions so others in the company can clearly see how our solutions work! Overall, Lucidchart has enabled a wide audience to see diagrams on our Wiki perfectly, and helped increase product knowledge as well!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can import VSDs so why not give it a shot? Overall, the product integrates well with all my team members. Also it is pretty awesome how it can diagram parts of your AWS infrastructure as well!

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a fan of how easy it is to build workflows. I open this tool when I need to hammer out state diagram or workflow, and it just works, so I can focus on thinking and not trying to use the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the editing functionality is a bit tricky (aka the click states for editing boxes)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating complex ideas within our product or user workflow within the company. Using lucidchart helps us easily do that, saving time and ensuring we work efficiently

Like using it

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to import VSDs and build different flows and diagrams. Also, sharing feature is cool. Also, exporting to PDF and the different formats has been helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Importing VSDs doesn't always bring everything across...have to fix quite a few things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flowing out processes is super helpful when aligning cross-functional team members understandings of current state and agreeing on issues and future state.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool to use, especially when you don't have Visio.

Great tool to build and communicate process and project assets

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The copy and past of blocks between Online Documents themselves and with Desktop Documents, I also love the ability to add User files (e.g. JPEG, PNG, ...) to the diagrams
What do you dislike about the product?
The limited options and tools for free Subscribers. It would also be great if access is given for Free for Non For Profit Organisations (something like Podio model)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create Clear and engaging Processes
Create Business Assets and Training Material for my company
I have not used the collaboration function with my team members as they don't feel confident enough to use the tool
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start Using it quickly, design and create simple diagrams to breakdown the complexities of Business Processes

What do you like best about the product?
Light weight, faster to use than Visio for creating diagrams
What do you dislike about the product?
Visio imported files aren't always as editable as I'd like
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting process flows
