Go to tool for visual collaboration

  • September 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart has quickly become one of my go-to tools for visual collaboration and process mapping. It’s intuitive enough to get started within minutes, yet powerful enough to handle complex workflows, system architecture, and organizational diagrams

What I appreciate most is the balance between ease of use and depth of functionality. The drag-and-drop interface makes building diagrams seamless, and the vast template library saves time when I need a quick starting point. Real-time collaboration is another standout—multiple people can contribute simultaneously, which has been a game changer for brainstorming sessions, mapping customer journeys, and aligning cross-functional teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version is pretty limited, and the jump to paid tiers can feel steep, especially for small teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidchart is great at solving a variety of visual and organizational problems, especially around clarity, collaboration, and planning. Here’s a breakdown of the key problems it helps address:
1. Complex processes made simple
• Converts complicated workflows, org structures, or systems into clear visual diagrams.
• Helps teams quickly understand processes without lengthy explanations.
2. Cross-team alignment and collaboration
• Enables real-time co-editing so everyone is on the same page.
• Reduces miscommunication when mapping out projects or strategies.
3. Idea organization and brainstorming
• Supports mind maps and flowcharts, making it easier to capture and organize ideas.
• Helps turn abstract concepts into structured, actionable visuals.

Generous free tier

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Free tier has almost always been enough to complete the task I am doing and when it hasn't the subscription is not prohibitively expensive.

You can also use it for pretty much any visualisation from app mockups to data base schema or service architecture design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Selecting the right content box is often cumbersome, using preset templates makes this easier but if you are new and starting from a blank sheet you need to do a fair bit of guessing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that the suite solves for me is being able to share my diagrams/schemas/wireframes with other developers and managers with just a URL. The opinionated nature of the design elements you can use also make it much faster to prototype when compared with something like Figma.

Design Flow

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It’s most helpful to have live editing. The best way to collaborate is like this.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike having too vague a screen to start with. It’s better to start off with ideas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps for us to design diagrams for internal and client purposes.

Lucid for creating a detailed staging plan

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease with which I could construct a clear swim lane chart without any prior experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when you need to adjust formatting late in the design you have to manually adjust each entry to suit rather than the software automatically adjusting for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problems of manually having to link things together and having to manually change many items when a single item is moved. For example, I could easily delete an entry or move it around and the relevant arrows would follow it around and adjust as required, whereas if I did this in bluebeam I would have to manually route the arrow.

Effective Whiteboard for Collaboration

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best aspect about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is how easy it is for everyone to visually share their thoughts on a digital whiteboard during a meeting. When people want to draw out flowcharts or sequence events in pictures rather than words, this software makes it extremely easy. It is also easy to implement and integrate into your everyday office meetings. I use it almost daily now. I have not worked with their customer support yet, but would like to see if this is as good as their software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The aspect that made this collaboration suite a little challenging was having to zoom in and out while people are drawing because sometimes when you open a whiteboard, you are zoomed in on a part of the whiteboard that no one else can see or is currently viewing in the general vicinity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is solving a lot of challenges in terms of being able to draw out ideas that people have during meetings that take place in rooms without physical whiteboards.

Solid performance and functionality.

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is its ability to bridge technical precision with collaborative flexibility. Lucidchart makes it easy to build detailed process maps, system architectures, and workflow diagrams without sacrificing clarity or control. Lucidspark complements that by enabling real-time brainstorming and stakeholder engagement, which is especially useful when navigating cross-functional projects or zoning strategy sessions. The seamless integration with tools like Microsoft 365, Jira, and Slack keeps everything connected, and the intuitive interface means I spend less time formatting and more time solving.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Lucid offers strong functionality, there are a few areas that could be improved. The pricing tiers can feel limiting for smaller teams, especially when advanced features like data linking or conditional formatting are locked behind higher plans. Additionally, while the interface is generally intuitive, managing large, complex diagrams can get sluggish, particularly when layering multiple objects or embedding external data. Lastly, version control and change tracking could be more robust for teams working asynchronously across time zones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite helps me streamline and communicate complex business logic across customer journey mapping, process modeling, and organizational design. In consulting engagements, clarity and speed are critical, Lucidchart allows me to rapidly build and iterate on workflows, org charts, and best practice frameworks that clients can immediately understand and act on. Lucidspark adds value during early-stage ideation and stakeholder alignment, especially when mapping customer pain points or refining service blueprints. The suite reduces ambiguity, accelerates decision-making, and ensures that strategic intent is visually and operationally aligned across teams.

Clean, effective tool for visualizing data

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how intuitive the interface is—it doesn’t take long to get comfortable with the tools, even for someone who’s not super technical. The ability to visualize ideas, workflows, or data in real time with a team is really helpful, especially when working remotely. Everything feels pretty fluid and collaborative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming with the number of features packed in—like there's a bit of a learning curve, especially for new users. Also, performance can dip a little when working with larger, more complex diagrams or collaborating with multiple people at once
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a software developer, one of the challenges we faced during product development was aligning on data modeling. Things would get stuck in back-and-forth conversations or vague documentation. Using Lucid really helped us map out our data models visually and collaboratively, which made it easier for everyone—especially across teams—to stay on the same page. It sped things up, reduced misunderstandings, and gave us a shared visual reference we could keep coming back to

My go-to tool for collaboration and visual brainstorming

  • September 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid makes it incredibly easy to map out ideas, create workflows, and collaborate in real time with teammates. The templates are diverse and well-structed, which saves time when starting new projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can sometimes feel a bit heavy on performance when working with large or complex diagrams. The pricing structure could also be more flexible for smaller teams that don’t need the full enterprise suite. Integration with some niche tools also requires extra setup effort compared to bigger platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
helps simplify complex ideas by turning them into clear, visual diagrams that are easy to understand and share. It solves the problem of miscommunication during planning or brainstorming by allowing real-time collaboration, which means everyone stays aligned without long back-and-forths. It has been especially useful in creating workflows, organizational charts, and process maps that help teams operate more efficiently.
