Flexible and Fast
What do you like best about the product?
The speed at which it runs, the easy UX for creating search queries, and the ease of simple features like parsing and filtering that makes it nice for beginners like me
What do you dislike about the product?
Visualizations don't feel super intuitive and how to group and chart information. Other data programs like reDash (just one example) feel easier to put together visuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking usage of features and products by our users (sports technology application is the company). This, along with troubleshooting bugs, finding error codes to diagnose customer problems.
Intuitive, concise query syntax + wealth of resources make Sumologic both easy and powerful
What do you like best about the product?
The query syntax is like a simple functional language, and is quite intuitive to start using right away. The "parse" tool that lets you capture and parse strings might not seem like a big deal, but it saves you hours of mucking with regex captures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visualizations could be better; it should be easier to accomplish things like making a bar cart bar change color based on value.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using it to monitor the health of applications running in production, including dashboards to visually monitor health and automated alerts. As well, it's easy to create attractive dashboards to share business metrics and reports which can be easily exported to feed Excel reports for management & business stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While there are free log analysis alternatives available on the market, consider that you often get what you pay for with monitoring solutions.

Very useful and easy to integrate
What do you like best about the product?
Setting up and integrating with environment was trivial (AWS, http sources). Great pre-canned dashboards. Query language learning curve is low and custom dashboards easy to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some elements of the user interface could be improved, particularly regarding sharing dashboards and queries within organization (was initially kind of confusing).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring and compliance, . We've used Sumo Logic to do things like optimize network traffic, show coverage of monitoring agents, and aggregate log data to better monitor user interaction with deployed services.
A real IT crowd pleaser.

I enjoy sumo logic's ability to collate and aggregate data in real time. My app would not be troubleshoot-able quickly without it.

Aggregation data needs more features. Sorting transposed columns would allow us to prioritize what we want to see.

Speed of realizing when an issue has appeared and drilling in to troubleshoot it.

The ease of being able to pick up the query language to do searching through the logs.

Need the ability to perform more than 1 action per alert. Idea SL-I-1881

centralizing Logging / Dashboards to 1 pane of glass.

The ability to pull information from multiple sources and method has been a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like the alerts to be more robust. As of right now it's limited to only a few options in terms of contents it can send, specifically for email.

Overall being able to monitor systems in our organization and responding to them accordingly.

You can take awesome information only from your logs data

It is very fast to log and it has a wonderful search engine, so it is quickly to find your data.

It is hard to start using it, but after that you will make a lot of things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved the alerts when any of our applications crashes, we have an integration that notifies us through slack or pagerduty when an error occurs.
