Multi-cloud costs have become transparent and teams gain persona-based insights to optimize spend

    Reviewed on Jun 10, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We are using multi-cloud infrastructure including Microsoft Azure, GCP, Oracle OCI, and Snowflake data cloud. We are able to ingest the cost data from all these cloud platforms into CloudZero, and we are able to create dashboards for cloud cost visibility by persona and team using their tags.

CloudZero provides insights for optimizing costs, provides billing meter-wise category cost breakup, detects cloud cost anomalies, and gives alerts. CloudZero is a great solution for an enterprise organization looking for a third-party cloud cost management solution, and it provides meaningful data insights for optimizing multi-cloud costs.

As a supply chain management software company with 10+ product lines, creating persona-based dashboards allows each team to view their spends with respect to end user computing, security team, product management team, and product development teams, so they can view their cloud spend based on the cloud platforms they are provisioning resources.

    What is most valuable?

CloudZero is a multi-cloud cost management solution for enterprise organizations who want to view their cloud spend in a single dashboard with appropriate information and identify cost anomalies in a faster manner.

The best features CloudZero offers include persona-based dashboards, meaningful data insights to optimize cloud spend, and telemetry data and integrations with other cloud platforms, along with email-based proactive cost anomaly alerts.

CloudZero offers a single pane of dashboard to understand cloud cost visibility for a multi-cloud infrastructure, and we were able to drill down into unit economics to understand the unit level cost in each cloud platform.

The governance and security are excellent, allowing us to create and assign permissions based on each persona, so the security features are outstanding.

The accuracy and reliability are excellent by using CloudZero AI features, and we were able to get more meaningful data insights for optimizing cloud spend.

The features are excellent and we were able to add the AI feature in CloudZero to get more valuable cost optimization insights.

Using CloudZero dashboards, every team is able to understand their cloud spend by cloud platform and it helps to detect cost anomalies before there is a cloud cost spike.

    What needs improvement?

CloudZero can be improved by ingesting more AI features for analyzing the database platform as a service, and we need more AI-related features in CloudZero.

With respect to reporting, we need more customizable reports and additional cloud platforms need to be supported in CloudZero, such as Splunk and AppDynamics. These are the SaaS platforms CloudZero needs to work with so that other SaaS platforms can be integrated into CloudZero to understand cloud cost spend.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using CloudZero for more than two years as our cloud cost management solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    CloudZero is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

CloudZero platform is scalable because we were able to ingest data from four cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure with 25,000+ virtual servers and 800+ subscriptions, more than 10 regions in Oracle OCI, and multiple regions in Snowflake. CloudZero platform is scalable in terms of viewing costs and providing data insights from larger volumes of information.

How are customer service and support?

CloudZero customer support is supportive and helpful.

    How was the initial setup?

The pricing is competitive, and we were able to set up CloudZero in a couple of weeks.

    What about the implementation team?

From a licensing perspective, we do not have any SKU numbers and are adding more volumes from multiple cloud platforms.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We were able to reduce 20% cloud spend using CloudZero insights, and we were able to purchase more reservations and savings plans, perform rightsizing activities, and clean up orphaned resources in Microsoft Azure cloud, Oracle OCI cloud, and Snowflake data cloud.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated IBM Apptio and IBM Turbonomic before choosing CloudZero.

What other advice do I have?

Creating multi-cloud cost visibility dashboards for different personas allows us to get cloud cost visibility for Blue Yonder.

If you are a SaaS organization looking for a cloud cost management solution, you should consider CloudZero. CloudZero provides a single pane of glass dashboard for getting multi-cloud cost visibility. I would rate this product a 9.

Great for attributing cloud spend to specific data science projects

    Reviewed on May 18, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
As a data scientist, dealing with cloud infrastructure costs used to be a complete guessing game. We run a lot of heavy machine learning workloads and complex data pipelines, and before CloudZero, our AWS and Snowflake bills were just massive, unreadable blocks of expenses. What I love most about this platform is how it translates raw cloud spend into actual unit economics that make sense to my team. We finally have a way to attribute specific costs to individual ML models and daily ETL jobs without having to become FinOps experts. The anomaly detection is also incredibly sharp and has sent me Slack alerts the minute a training job started eating up way more compute than it should have.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup definitely requires a good amount of heavy lifting and cross-team coordination. You can't just plug it in and expect magic on day one. I had to sit down with our DevOps and data engineering teams for several working sessions to define our telemetry and map out our billing dimensions correctly. Also, while the interface is generally good, the custom dashboards can get a bit clunky and overwhelming if you try to pack too many different cost metrics into a single view. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get the visualizations exactly how you want them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main use case is tracking the ROI of our data science projects and catching runaway infrastructure costs before the end-of-the-month bill arrives. A real-life example happened just a few months ago when a poorly optimized automated retraining script for our recommendation engine went rogue. It was spinning up expensive AWS SageMaker instances every hour instead of once a day. CloudZero flagged the unusual spend spike immediately, and we were able to kill the job and fix the code within hours, saving the company thousands of dollars. It has completely changed our culture, making the data team much more accountable and mindful of the code we push into production.

CloudZero’s Customizable Cost Tracking with Business Insight

    Reviewed on Feb 26, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about CloudZero is the flexibility it gives me to build my own views and reports. In my experience, being able to customize dashboards based on what I actually want to track — whether it’s by workload, environment, or customer — makes a big difference.

I don’t have to rely on rigid, predefined reports. I can tailor the cost tracking to match our business needs and present the data in a way that makes sense for leadership and engineering teams. That level of customization has been the most valuable part for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I didn’t like about CloudZero was the limited ability to view detailed usage metrics directly from the regular Explorer dashboard. In my experience, whenever I needed deeper or more granular information, I had to create a separate Analytics dashboard.

While the analytics capability is powerful, having to build a new dashboard each time I wanted detailed insight felt cumbersome and time-consuming. It would be much more efficient if more detailed usage metrics were accessible directly within the standard Explorer view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero is solving the problem of connecting cloud spend to business outcomes. Instead of just seeing AWS costs by service, we can understand costs by customer, product, or workload.

That benefits us by giving better visibility into what’s driving spend, improving forecasting, and enabling more informed decisions around optimization and pricing.

What do you like best about the product?
I actually like the customer success team and the team members who support us as part of our tier of service. Everyone has been at the highest level of professionalism and they're incredibly responsive. The customer success engagement is something we use regularly, especially when there's new functionality we want to take advantage of or when we're customizing some of our existing reports. We have high confidence and trust in CloudZero's functionality because of their customer success team. They've been regularly supporting us and guiding us to show us best practices with CloudZero. I'm at the point of starting several new initiatives, and having the customer success team right there from the start has been huge help. They tell us the right piece of CloudZero functionality to use, and they put us in a position where we don't make any mistakes that we discover later.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the customization of dimensions and the reference data setups, while great that they're all centrally managed in a single YAML file, the editing of that file can probably be a bit more user-friendly. If I had to regularly make these edits on my own, I would like a little bit more usability. They're definitely geared to being developer friendly, but it would be great if this could be something I could hand off to less experienced or non-developer members of my team. To do that, I'd need something with a much better user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero helps me get a high-level overview of spend across many AWS accounts, reducing the tedium of AWS's own cost explorer. It also alerts me to spend anomalies and regularly introduces new features for savings plans and end-of-life costs.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate CloudZero's customer success team; they feel like an extension of our own team. They're proactive and deeply knowledgeable about our specific environments, which helps us drive adoption and improve our unit economics. Another great aspect is the flexibility to tag resources for allocation without relying on native tools, something that isn't possible with AWS or Azure alone. Using CloudFormation and dimensions with CloudZero is a tremendous help, and it's my favorite feature about the platform. Additionally, I found the setup process to be very smooth and seamless. Within a week, we were already looking at our data and it felt like CloudZero had been part of our infrastructure for a long time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think everything has been good so far. I think with the way AI is changing business models, there could be improvements on the AI reporting, like types of AI, models, tokens, and visibility into who's consuming more tokens. More detailed AI reporting, similar to what they do on cloud today, would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero transforms our approach by providing granular cost visibility unattainable with native tools, turning complex data into actionable insights easily understood by our engineering and finance teams.

What do you like best about the product?
Combining all platforms into one, helping our several cloud providers be brought into one.
What do you dislike about the product?
To heavy AWS specific. AWS is trending down, especially support. Need to have more azure recommendations that work with utilization reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have about 30 azure subscriptions, several amazon accounts, gcp and instead of having to login to each it solves it by giving me a centralized platform. When savings are recommended we still need to go in and validate it since its not 100% accurate but gets us in the right direction.

Flexible Cost Management with Ease of Setup

What do you like best about the product?
I think the custom views via whatever dimension you want to slice by are very helpful. You can make sure that you carve out specific anomalies or detection for a given product, service, or business unit, however you slice your data. That's very helpful so that we can make sure that we're sending the right message, to the right people, at the right time. Also, CloudZero was incredibly flexible, allowing us to bring our own dimensions in and customize our views to get a holistic view of the entire estate.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love more granular control over the role-based access control (RBAC). We'd like to have a little more granularity in roles that exist within the system so people can edit dashboards and self-serve more regularly without being full admins. I know this is on the roadmap though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use CloudZero to understand our costs in public cloud, get unit level economics insights, and put costs in front of engineers. It gives a holistic view of our cloud estate with customizable views for detecting anomalies.

Actionable Cloud Cost Visibility with Near Real-Time Insights and Strong Unit Economics

    Reviewed on Feb 09, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I value most about CloudZero is its ability to provide clear, actionable visibility into cloud costs by directly linking spend to the underlying business drivers.
By attributing costs to teams, services, features, and customers, it enables meaningful collaboration between Finance and Engineering and supports informed decision-making.
The near real-time insights and strong unit economics capabilities help organizations proactively manage cloud spend, reduce waste, and align infrastructure investments with business outcomes.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area of improvement for CloudZero is the learning curve for new users, particularly for stakeholders who are less familiar with cloud architectures or FinOps concepts.
While the platform is powerful, fully leveraging its advanced features requires an upfront investment in enablement and ongoing governance. Additionally, some organizations may find that achieving the most granular insights depends on a certain level of data hygiene and integration effort, which can take time to mature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero addresses the lack of transparency and accountability in cloud spending by connecting infrastructure costs to the services, teams, and business outcomes that generate them. Instead of treating cloud spend as a fixed or opaque overhead, it enables detailed cost attribution and unit economics, which allows Finance and Engineering to make data-driven decisions together.
This has benefited us by improving cost ownership, reducing unplanned spend, and enabling proactive cost optimization rather than reactive cost control. It also strengthens forecasting accuracy and supports margin protection by making the financial impact of technical decisions visible early and in near real time.
