Best tool in market for automating Operations

What do you like best about the product?
Many reasons to like Rundeck few of them are great plugins, nice UI, Continuously evolving and super active dev team. Makes life easier for Operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say dislike but i would definitely like to see some improvements in heartbeat features, Running standalone java plugins. While using rundeck in a cluster mode, log viewing experience can be improved. Currently in cluster mode, If job is running in one instance of a cluster, The other instance is not able to view the logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a part of rundeck implementation we are automatic, Server Rebuild process for Stores. We are also automating operation works as in Server Restart, Server Health Check etc.

Fantastic tool, free, updates are great, never had any issues

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, quick to setup, but easy to maintain. It's about as easy (or easier) to set up and get running as a cron job but the functionality is much better. Great community as well.

The genius in the product is how easy it is to get started. You can go from 0-hero in less than an hour, and that's amazing for a lot of these Linux software packages.

I really like the way you can setup projects for each piece of your work. My work spans a wide area and it's nice to be able to organize it. Also, getting emails for failed jobs is AMAZING. Sure, you can do that with cron jobs but why? This is way easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any issues I have had have all been resolved by new features. Currently I have no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a sole dev and I didn't want something that would be maintenance heavy. I also needed something that could help me automate a lot of my work. Rundeck did all of those things and has continued to be a fantastic software that gets better over time.

What do you like best about the product?
Rundeck offer lots of amazing features with the plugins integrations.
With only the community version, you can manage almost every dailly tasks in few minutes.
The ability to commit the jobs détails and scripts.
But most of all, you can protect your intellectual property by not leaving your scripts on the targeted servers, they are deleted after execution !
The entreprise support is awesome, they was able to improve a feature in order to solve an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no real downsides except the rates of the updates...
The workflow is not intuitive.
Security and encryption should be improved also.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We was able to fully automate our IT processes and Development :
- Deployment
- DevSecOps
- DevOps
- Maintenance
- Compliance
- Incident countermeasure
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In order to fully use Rundeck, knowing how to develop is a plus.

What do you like best about the product?
I use rundeck for my serveur backup. I have +400 task on rundeck
What do you dislike about the product?
The website are slower sometime and need to be restart

Can create an API for everything

What do you like best about the product?
I like how with rundeck you can create API URL's to execute your jobs.
You can create jobs with any type of programming language (bash, ansible, python, powershell and more) and generate an API for that job.
What do you dislike about the product?
That Rundeck doesn't have a dark theme. I prefer scripting in dark so it will be cool to also see my jobs on a dark theme.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now I'm using it only to generate URL's for all my jobs, but I know it can do a lot more and I will try it.

What do you like best about the product?
We think the most important feature is plugin ecosystem, there's a plugin for everything. And if not, we could be deep dive and going to linux shell :)
Rundeck is lightweight and very stable, we use for many puporse, since running ansible playbooks in to our environment, deploy terraform projects, Jenkins integration, chatbot integration with Rundeck + Slack + Chatbot in order to delivery a job quickly to our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
A simple user authentication, token manipulation could be more easy. GIT integration to.
A declarative template for project or jobs creation should be help a lot in a infra as code strategy.
A kubernetes plugin could be more function, maybe look at cnfc incubator projects in order to converge with him.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many issues was solved by rundeck jobs, up / down develop environment in cloud provider, kubernetes cluster operation, runs many ansible playbooks and terraform projects.
Manage google cloud enviroment using google sdk + rundeck shellfeatures.
Option function is really awesome and make a integration with Rundeck + my users more accurate.
Import / Export git plugin help me to convert my Rundeck efemeral.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Rundeck is a very powerful tool, with a few minutes you are able to run your jobs. The workflow process is very intuitive and easy to use. Ansible plugin is installed by default and capable to extend Rundeck functions.

Great tool for task automation

What do you like best about the product?
Rundeck helped us get out of the pain of managing tons of jobs in crontabs across multiple servers. It is easy to integrate into our other tools such as Slack and Victorops.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of any issues at the moment. The biggest issues we had have been resolved in recent releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it much easier to know what is running, on what server, and keep track of task success.

Instant Admin Dashboard

What do you like best about the product?
We did not have time to build a full fledged administrative dashboard for our technical customer support team. We were able to utilize Run Deck as a method to execute one-off scripts on our production servers and provide privileged tier-based access to the customer support SMEs so that they can execute these scripts. This represented substantial savings in engineering cost as an engineer is no longer necessary to solve these support tickets.
What do you dislike about the product?
There doesn't seem an easy way to kill a script once it has started running.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's ability to allow us to execute scripts on the server-side and provide access to our customer support team.
