What do you like best about the product?
Pager duty is on duty round the clock which ensures for maximum uptime of infra
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the tool. There is not such thing to dislike the tool. Nice tool, must needed for services based complanies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Infra related problems. Especially Physical servers related issues

What do you like best about the product?
We use PagerDuty to manage both Support and Operations notifications, and have integrations with both. I was not involved in the initial setup, but have made several changes recently to schedules and all were straightforward. The multiple layers and escalation paths (for example, third layer can be an upper management mailing list if needed) are rarely used but have been a lifesaver when the person on-call did not immediately acknowledge an incident.

Pages are consistent - come via SMS and phone simultaneously, and have never failed. Overrides are simple. The API integration is excellent, and allows us to update schedules outside of the UI as needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
A couple of (minor) quibbles:

* A few areas of the UI could be slightly better - in-schedule drag-and-drop would be welcome
* As far as we can tell, there can only be one "Account Owner". If this person were to leave the company unexpectedly, it would create issues recovering the account.
* Best Analytics locked behind premium accounts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a small team with on-call every weekend and holiday, and PD allows me to ensure that any incidents that occur during these periods are escalated to the proper on-call person. Even during normal business hours, the notifications allow us to quickly alert multiple people who may be in meetings or otherwise AFK.

What do you like best about the product?
PagerDuty Mobile App is the very best solution for specialist on-call
What do you dislike about the product?
reporting area is not so granular and efficient
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On my platform we need to handle quiet 1K of network devices (routers ; FWs ; etc.) and PagerDuty solve our following-the-sun infrastructyure.

Good tool to get notified if something is wrong

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using PagerDuty for a few years now. What can I way? It just works reliably! Multiple ways of notifications make it easy to NOT miss an outage! I do like the Slack integration!
What do you dislike about the product?
Schedule overviews are still a little cumbersome, especially if you are wanting to have Schedules during Office hours and Non-Office hours. But visibility around that and UI is improving! I would like to be able to add blocked dates where I am not automatically scheduled (instead of having to overwrite the shifts myself).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting notified when and how we should be.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a go! It's worth considering! At my old company we had a self made monitoring and alerting system, which didn't work (correctly) half of the time..

Easy to configure, while maintaining the complexities of a rotating shift.

The app could do more. Maybe have more notifications,etc?

Did away with a l1 team. Cost reduction. Decreased time for callouts

Flexibility of schedule setup. Escalation policy flow
What do you dislike about the product?
Privileging, any team can add my team into their escalation policy without my knowledge, there should be a mechanism to notify a member or team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Escalations, getting resources on an issue

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of use. The interface is very clear. Also it offers a large feature set and I don't see any limitation.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest I don't see any! Pager Duty meets exactly our needs!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's good to know that when one of our servers has difficulties, we'll be called so we can react quickly in order to get our instances back.

What do you like best about the product?
Pagerduty allows for alerting for my on call engineering teams. It's never once failed to do exactly what we needd.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe it is the way we are set up but maintaining the rota'd schedule is quite painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our use-case is very simple. If we get a P1/Sev1 issue wake up the on-call engineer!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've not found a better solution.

What do you like best about the product?
The escalation policy and scheduler are very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wanted to track my activity and my team members activity in pagerduty. I couldn't find activity past 14 days. I want this information to be able to download it as csv files for other reporting purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snoozing feature helps me focus on other issues and not worrying about missing something important.
