What do you like best about the product?
Loves that Pagerduty alerts via email, message and call. It helps us make sure we don't lose track of the alert and then re-alert it after a scheduled time again.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI could have been better.
Incident response integration can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
System Correctness.
System Uptime.
System Latency.

makes my job easier. no need to fear missing an alarm

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1) Being able to customize notification methods, and having multiple types of notifications. And each user can set theirs for what works best for them. 2) Peace of mind! Having an escalation policy means there's no worry about incidents going unhandled. 3) That it integrates with Slack so I can acknowledge and resolve incidents from Slack chats. This is what I end up doing 90% of the time, rather than using the web or mobile apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) The web and mobile apps can be slow. 2) Setting overrides in the web app takes more mouse clicks than I think is necessary. This is about the only thing I use the web app for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More confidence that problems are being handled. Because it will continue to bother you until you acknowledge, there's no worry about sleeping through an emergency. That occasionally happened before we started with PD because we relied on push notifications from our email client. PD = more confidence and less stress.

What do you like best about the product?
You can customize what alerts are captured and the many ways I can be notified.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more capabilities around alarm suppression.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Up/down status of critical integrations

Pagerduty has pretty good UI

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The pagerduty is very reliable, so far we haven't gotten paged without an actual issue or vice versa. UI is good for searching/acknowledging/etc. Also the number of integrations with pagerduty is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to search the exact pagery duty alert. Also if there is an easy way to test pagery duty alert, it will be great. Adding/removing people on pagerduty messes up the whole schedule
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some problems we solve with pagerduty is the oncall schedule that we have. It makes sure that pagery duty rotations are seamless. It allows the team to be accountable for deploys.

PagerDuty at Climate

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We like the integrations with Slack, Gmail, VoIP, and Okta. Being able to resolve PagerDuty notifications from anywhere is a great plus. On the mobile app, the feature to have several accounts logged into the same device is great. We share a device for on-call rotation, so this is a great convenience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface is a little clunky. It is hard to find things sometimes, especially from an admin perspective. We also really do not like when deactivating a user, we have to remove them from all PagerDuty lists and schedules. There should be an option to force remove the user. Something like "Remove user from PagerDuty regardless of schedules."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is very helpful with our on-call rotation for our IT support team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the mobile app!

What do you like best about the product?
The simple interface for powerful options. and the appreciating asset it has. New features just roll in, and the ease just gets better and better, even with the powerful options they're rolling out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The calendar integration could be easier. I feel it's a little pricey for the features, but overall good value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple escalations and playbook linkage. Problematic getting non-technical users into the paradigm.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand what you're using pagerduty for, and how best to use it's core strengths.

Solid product for handling on-call alerts

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PagerDuty is feature-rich and has a solid, reliable API. The iOS mobile app is also very handy, as is the ability to provision a number to route to an on-call person on your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The administration interface is a little dated and difficult to use for certain things. Managing groups and escalation paths can sometimes be a trial and error type situation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PagerDuty helps us to draw attention to critical system issues, AWS CloudWatch alerts, and anything else we need urgent eyes on. It’s enabled us to reduce downtime and improve response times across our services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s a solid service for a fair price.

A great addition to the on-call toolbox

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pagerduty allows us to do the right level of alerting, to the right groups of people, and allow for escalation in case the initial notification is missed.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn't a negative against PagerDuty per se, but our monitoring software, unfortunately, doesn't have an API that allows us to directly interface the two--we have to use email parsing rules in order to properly flag and categorize alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to PagerDuty we were using a spray-and-pray approach to on-call, meaning we had to alert all on-call personnel and have an expectation that the right person will pay attention and the folks not on call will ignore it.

    Computer Software

It does what it's meant to do

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it integrates nicely with other applications like calendar and slack. The cellphone app works great and never had an issue while paging or being paged.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the design is overall a bit uninteresting and feels a bit old.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for on-call rotations and paging whenever there are incidents.

Good Application to Manage On Call

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
PagerDuty is an all in one solution for maintaining on call rotations. It's easy to use and configurable to your specific needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is having to be on call. Nobody likes being woken up at three in the morning because a system you are monitoring went down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy management of incidents within our organization and easier management of on call schedules.
