Affordable Empowerment: Unlocking Feature Flagging Potential with Split
What do you like best about the product?
What we like best about Split is its low entry cost and high functionality, enabling startups to effortlessly adopt feature flagging as a software development practice while enjoying many features out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Split offers an impressive feature set and cost-effective solutions, one aspect that could be improved is the availability of comprehensive documentation and resources. Sometimes, finding specific information or troubleshooting guidance can be a bit challenging, especially for users who are new to the platform. Enhanced documentation and easily accessible resources would greatly benefit users and streamline their experience with Split
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split solves the problem of effectively managing feature flags in software development projects. By providing a robust feature flagging solution, Split allows teams to easily control the release and targeting of features, enabling progressive deployments, A/B testing, and gradual rollouts. This benefits me by empowering my team to iterate and experiment with features in a controlled manner, minimizing risks and ensuring a smooth user experience. Split.io's feature flagging capabilities provide flexibility, allowing us to make data-driven decisions, gather user feedback, and iterate on features without disrupting the entire application. This ultimately leads to improved product quality, faster time-to-market, and enhanced user satisfaction.

Easy feature flagging
What do you like best about the product?
Easy feature flagging functionality. The team also seems to be committed to improving the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints with the product itself. Their former Free tier was downgraded as their company grew.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to quickly and remotely flip feature flags without deploying code allows us to get the full benefit of winning A/B tests more quickly/simply.
It's 2023, stop guessing or "going with your gut", or continuously wondering about ideas. Use split.
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use and helpful the staff is. Running A/B tests from scratch and with so many different options can seem pretty complicated, but split makes it simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Defining metrics. A slight variation in how you define a metric and how you choose to measure the metric (ex., % of unique anonymous versus # of events per anonymous) will impact whether your results are inconclusive or very, very conclusive. The split product could do a better job of helping a user navigate this risk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Developing user features in a way that allows us to measure impact to our most important business metrics. Makes us both more productive AND allows us to focus on the user.
It has helped us to improve our deployment speed
What do you like best about the product?
It has proven very useful in helping the development team to add value to our customer faster
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, the ui was a little bit confusing but major improvements have been done
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped us in increasing the speed of our releases
Smooth testing experience
What do you like best about the product?
I think the user interface to split users based on different treatments is intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We identified a limit in the Json in the Dynamic Configuration section that didn't allow us to filter everything we wanted. This forced us to create an in-house tool to solve this problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split allows us to perform controlled A/B Test experiments on our user database. Because we can ensure that we are splitting our user base 50% vs 50% no matter what future we want to assess.
Makes life so much easier to test out new features.
What do you like best about the product?
Relatively easy to set up. Love segments feature to make internal testing easy. I love flexible targeting options. I love that splits can provide not only true or false options, but also provide custom json configurations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably the most difficult/imposible thing is to rename the split when some configuration has already been set up. Would be great, if there at least was an option to clone/move all the configuration from one split to the other one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast switching between different features on specified date without deployment.
Serving different features for users in different regions.
Serving different features for users in different regions.
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
It is flexible, Very useful in doing AB testing and testing in production.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have to now how and what to configure. There is a learning curve to find out optimal solution
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing in production and AB testing
Robust solution for web traffic partitioning and feature on/off instrumentation
What do you like best about the product?
Relatively straightforward implementation. We were up and running in a matter of days. However, it takes much longer for your dev team and product team to fully maximize the potential and use cases for Split.
What do you dislike about the product?
Opaque visibility into the token randomization of traffic variants. Lack of native support for AB testing and reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to control features by traffic swim lanes and randomize visits/visitors for the purpose of AB testing. Enables a controlled rollout and ramp of new features.
Feature flags easy to implement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the software can be easily implemented providing different examples and posibilties for example i use react and theres a pure js version and also a react one.
What do you dislike about the product?
at the begining the product was very simple but it has been growing and now it feels very complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we use a mono repo so all of our new features need to live behind a feature flag so it can be activated or deactivated easily so this product has saved a ton of times because if something is wrong we deactivate it quick.
Perfect tool for every type of feature flags
What do you like best about the product?
Split is easy to use and pretty intuitive. Defining feature flags and accessing their values programmatically is straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
In 2 years, I haven't found yet something I don't like in Split
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split makes easy the use of feature flags
