Feature toggling made easy

  • March 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With split.io is super easy to use feature toggle in my code. Hence we don't need to use feature branchs and our code goes straight to production, once the feature is complete a simple click in the administration panel puts it to work.
Another valuable feature is the ability to partialy use the feature making transitions smooth and giving time to the engineering team to fix any bugs before full release.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using split.io we require an additional request to verify if the feature is enabled wich sometimes could fail and increse the overall duration of the execution.
A better interface to switch between environment would improve the UX a lot
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of using feature branchs when a major feature is been develop and a single task is not enough to develop it completely. Not having code waiting to be put in production speed up the process and the delivery proccess is more streamlined

What do you like best about the product?
They have a very high level of service, great people and a working product that is widely used but a lof of companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX/UI has to be improved, but once you get used to it, it's not a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly the ability to run a/b tests and do an attribute-based gradual rollout for some features

Best optimized solution for A/B testing

  • March 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Easy to configure at the workspace level and provide various options to customize the split as per business needs.
- A ton of metrics to select for all business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike- Nothing.
However below are some recommendations:
- Bulk upload/processing feature would be good.
- Various levels of permissions- read/write/admin would be good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- We are using Split for A/B testing and feature flagging needs.
- It is super easy for developers/admins to configure split for various business needs.
- Tons of metrics are there to understand the performance of the product.

Simple to start, powerful tool to manage releases

  • March 07, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Split feature flagging allows my team to control what gets released to production when working on a new feature. The start is simple with just the on/off rules, but add the user targetting and other configurations for the treatments and suddenly we had a lot more control over who/where our releases goes to. That's barely scratching the surface of what Split can do, as there are a number of other configurations we haven't even tried yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the JIRA integrations for indicating when a flag is on/off in different environments seems limited, and the link to JIRA only supports one environment at time of writing this. Some of the interfaces on the split dashboard can be unintuitive as to what they do or how to set them up (targeting rules, labels).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split helps me solve feature release management due to how our release cycles work. Or sometimes we want the ability to be able to rollback a feature (turning it off) without needing to do a full re-deployment. Split helps us do that, on top of other capabilities like A/B testing and targeting rules.

Reliable feature toggle system

  • March 07, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to setup a feature toggle and go through the release process. Environment separtion is baked in.
What do you dislike about the product?
The targetting rules can be a little confusing for newcomers and non-technical staff. There's a steep price jump for any of the paid features, however, we cannot complain given that we're able to get such value in the free tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to safely test out new, experimental or incomplete features. Some of our customers want custom features which we can support with permanent feature toggles.

Feature flags-driven programming style enables us to deploy often

Using Split in a company new to feature toggles

  • March 03, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The implementation help and support we received from the outset made it simple for our engineering teams and product managers to start using feature toggles.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are early in our journey using Split so nothing comes to mind so far!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can more safely integrate new features into our code base, and without rolling our own feature toggle framework. It enables us to shift our "definition of done" to be running in production. We can easily roll back features if we see any issues.

A great utility that fulfills our needs

  • March 02, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of split is the ease of use and implementation as well as the way we can customize traffic routes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful part is that the UI is a bit clunky and user management is tough. I don't like that I can't remove users as an admin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split is allowing us to seamlessly release features to the markets and customers we wish as well as allowing easy testing and continuous delivery of other features.

Epic feature flag management

  • March 01, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can easily manage feature flags across multiple environments as a product manager. This allows me to run experiments quickly & split tests easily. This is much easier than when we had to manage feature flags in the codebase.
What do you dislike about the product?
Split has a steep learning curve. The layout is not very intuitive, and I still have plenty of features and product areas I don't know about. It is highly effective for what I need, but it also offers a lot of what I'm not sure if I need or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Split makes managing feature flags incredibly simple. This allows me to turn features on or off with confidence quickly. Split also makes it super simple to conduct A/B tests, which makes a our testing flywheel move FAST.

Very easy experience to literally split users for experiments

  • February 28, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Few steps to reach to the desired behavior
Intuitive product
What do you dislike about the product?
Not so clear about what data the specific split received from the backend. As a Product Manager, i sometimes don't have the context of the techn behind and it could facilitate the configuration of the experiments
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick set up of experiments
Randomization of experiments
Easy to target specific audiences in our userbase
Easy to configure several experiments at a multiple time
