Connected planning and scenario analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan provides a stable environment that copes with big data sets well. I also love how easily models can connect and share data, elminating spreadsheets from our planning process. Anaplan is always adding new features and enhancements to the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
A desire for employees to want to learn Anaplan modeling skills is key to a successful implementation unless there is a central function for model maintenance or dedicated Centre of Excellence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is a great alternative to Excel. It has allowed us to streamline processes and reduce modelling error risks. Coinnected planning, where data can easily be shared between models, has eliminated the need for Excel files when consolidating business unit results into the Group Budget.

- Data integration capabilities could be stronger
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Disclosure Reporting: Meeting complex disclosure requirements in a transparent way and saving team members time to complete said processes.
- Connected Planning: Streamlining the planning process while allowing for more data points to be captured, which means that the walk from the previous cycle to the next can be automatically generated (rather than manually pieced together).

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is very flexible and powerful. The fact that it allows real-time calculating with no processing time and online collaboration is a huge benefit of this application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan could still improve its dashboarding and charting capabilities. While they are present, there are still some gaps in the charting that other solutions (excel) have.

I have solved many problems with Anaplan across various use cases both internally at my company and for our clients. From Agile Tracking to Recruiting Reporting and Sales Planning, Anaplan has shown it can do it all!
Anaplan for connected planning
What do you like best about the product?
Working in a consulting firm, I've been helping other companies (clients) to implement Anaplan solutions across multiple domains and use cases such as : Financial Planning and Analysis, Incentive Compensation, Territory and Quota Management, Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Marketing Management and Planning, Trade Promotions and a few more. The product Anaplan is highly flexible in terms of configuration and can support many features such as Workflow, Real time calculations, real time what-if scenarios. Since it also has a mobile app the users can easily access their reports on their mobile app and don't necessarily need to login to a computer to look at the reports. The power of Connected planning is one of the biggest strength of Anaplan where multiple departments in an organization can come all be connected via the same cloud platform and that gives the organization real time data flowing from 1 department to the other without having to wait for different platforms to integrate data from source to target.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is well suited for larger organizations with many departments having dependency on one another for data - connected planning via Anaplan is a great way to move faster and make informed decisions looking at the real time data. Anaplan is not so well suited for smaller organizations that do not have a lot of users and can achieve their task using simple excel formulas. Financial Planning and Analysis, Incentive Compensation, Territory and Quota Management, Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Marketing Management and Planning, Trade Promotions are few problems that can be solved.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the user experience is really flexible and meets the main needs of most enterprises. The Connected Planning experience a good implementation can give to its customers is a high-end solution that works really well. The platform constantly expands and is market competitive, the multiple integration options allow the system to communicate and seamlessly fit in any existing environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having worked with both the gritty back-end and not just the polished front-end, I see areas where improvements could be made, particularly in how the dimensions function and how the engine operates, as well as new features that can make the quality of work significantly better (e.g. view filters on import creation). Since this is a live system, any blocking action can significantly disrupt the user experience for all users involved.

What do you dislike about the product?
Its single-threaded nature makes it sometimes hung if something is running already, for instance, a data load process or something related to a wrong command, etc. which puts all the users on a halt for a few seconds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing Anaplan's computing capabilities for enhancing the planning, budgeting, and analytics process for our Sales and Finance domains to speed up the process and provide better insights for decision making. We recently used Anaplan for Sales Incentive payouts calculation, where in the payout mechanism was highly customized and Anaplan was flexible enough to cover for all the requirements.
