The complete backup and restore solution
What do you like best about the product?
Enterprise wise solution which handles with ease disk to disk , disk to cloud, all various vendors of storage. The interface is clean, functional and very intuitive. Very good monitoring which allows an operator to know exactly how the process is progressing.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike with Veeam. It can be a little slow to do restores although time taken is as much about hardware performance .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a reliable consistent suite of backup and recovery tools is important in any IT environment. We found that it was very adept in backing up laptops as well as the larger server environment showing it was was a solution for all occasions.

Troubleshooting possibilitys, it is easy to find somen one else who have experienced the same problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime the errorcodes are not very informative.

Using it for daily backup needs,
very good value for money, good monitoring, better than from VMware standard.

Sometimes changing versions of VMware ESXi/vCenter and Veeam, restores or other funcionality need troubleshooting because of errors

You can go forward into features and licensing amount as Your business need. And continue with advanced distributed backup enviroments. Very good tool even for SMB VMware Essentials smallest pack.

A little in the commercial part and price. Could be better.

Veeam Availability Suite in a mixed VMWare and Hyper-V environment
What do you like best about the product?
Seamless deployment to a variety of virtual servers and hosts. Are environment between two companies includes VMWare, Hyper-V and a few physical servers. Every platform and need is covered for us. Replication between sites was the easiest I've ever experienced. Restores, what few that have been needed, have been straightforward and accurate every time. The Backup Validator product has added another level of confidence that the data we want to backup is indeed being backed up. VMOne has also proven useful with its monitoring capabilities that otherwise would only be available in a much more expensive product from another company. With just implementing version 10, there are even more features that we plan to evaluate in the future that, if they work as advertised, should save even more time from mundane maintenance tasks on the virtual machines. Almost all of the questions that we had in setting up and using the product were found in their knowledge base and we have only had to leverage support a few time which shows how well thought out the product and supporting documentation processes are.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't run into it yet, because we're not quite at 3 years for our Veeam usage, but the price increase year over year is something that we are aware of. Even with that, for the money, the flexibility and visibility that we get with the Availability Suite seems worth the price at this moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified backup platform and monitoring along with replication of repositories. We know have data in different parts of the country but still have physical control over that data which is very important to our management team.

I liked the compression, the reliability and the ease of use( friendly)

I disliked that veeam Dont provide Cloud storage like Acronis.

I am solving the issue of database corruption, file corruption and VM issue.
Excellent backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of setting up my virtual backups, seamless across my network! Restoration at file or full server level has been impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the incremental backups can get confusing, but that's probably more me!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reliability is the biggest problem solved with Veeam. It just works and if there is a blip, always able to sort myself.

If you are looking to bellhop a virtual environment, Veeam is great. It just works, enables seamless backup of the backups and restoration is no bother.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a complete backup solution for a virtualized environment: reliable, secure, and with a great support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found only a couple of minor bugs in the last years, and only one time I had to reinstall the entire Veeam server and components.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We implemented a robust backup solution for all critical company data, and a Business Continuity plan by using the Veeam Cloud Connect feature. The Veeam Cloud Connect component allows to use a Cloud repository in order to perform an offsite backup, a feature that protects against ransomware and many other attacks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it if you have to administer a physical or a virtual environment, and you will not regret it!
