Veeam B&R - a solid solution with many features
What do you like best about the product?
I like the stability of Veeam and the constant improvements they make to keep up with the ever-changing world of software. I've been using Veeam for years and as a backup solution for our VMWare environment, it has given us peace of mind knowing our backups are stable and available without issues. Veeam has allowed us to recover servers when they've gone down, recover deleted files for users and spin up servers in a QA environment from our production environment when needed. Added features like cloud backup, O365 backup and protection from ransomware are added bonuses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like about Veeam is the fact that if you end up with a corrupted backup file, like when a hard drive fails or some other event happens, there's no way to remove the corrupted backup file from inventory cleanly. You basically have to start your backup set over from scratch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veeam has given us peace of mind that our data is stored securely and archived according to our RTO's and RPO's. There has been little need for tech support and in those cases, the issues ended up being with the hardware that was being used for the backups.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease, flexibility, and intuitiveness. It's a simple but potent backup and replication. The newest version (v11) has CDP and does storage snapshots if you have the appropriate license.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike anything at this moment. Their support is good when I need them. I'm good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not only do I backup and sleep well at night, but I've also been able to document our DR plan and incorporate it into our IR playbooks.

Veeam takes care of everything! It truly is a "set it and forget it" software that is easy to configure, easy to use in recovery, and easy to test to ensure that all is working properly
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest part for me was not being able to use my old ways of restoring SQL Backups - but once I learned the Veeam interface, I was good to go!

What do you like best about the product?
In Veeam, one of the best feature is VM Backup and restore process. It is so easy to manage and easily understable process. Another most liked feature is image recovery. We can recover any manching easily within fure minutes. there are lots of features that i liked most and another one is it's replication feature. We can integrate with Vmware environment very easily and can replicate virtual machines from one DC to another DC very easily. We can replicate VMs within same DC in different Datastores as well. Which gives very easy operation feature incase of any issue withing VM.
We can create backup jobs based on the application on the server. We can backup and store file in any secondary storage easily and can run backed up machine within few clicks. It is very easy to setup, configure and manage. Can create backup and replication jobs very easily and fast.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is not any such thing that i disliked within Veeam software till date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the major issue we resolved was keeping backup machine in Vmware environment. Previously it was not that easy to maintain image backup within VMware environment and there was changes of data loss without this feature, but after implementing this feature it is lot more easy to keep scheduled backup/replication and keep them safe in multiple locations as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend to use this software.

What do you like best about the product?
Although using the Community Edition, I must say I am impressed with how many features it has packed. Easy to connect to an ESXi server and easy to set up each machine to backup. Once that's done, all you have to do is set up notifications ON and forget it exists. I get all the information I need from the backup (if it failed or succeeded, how much space it uses, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike. I understand the Community Edition is about sharing, but I would go to Commercial Edition / or Paid if it was more affordable. As it stands, I could not possibly pay for using 11 servers instead of 10 (in my case, one machine is not backed up at all)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a daily incremental backup of 10 servers which works like clockwork, no hassle, and easy to set up. The server itself does not require or use many resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have tried other solutions, and none have all the features that Veeam packs in the Community Edition. Unfortunately, Veeam aims for Enterprises with the pricing, so end-users would typically not afford it. I certainly would buy a lifetime license, but for just one extra server running that I may or may not keep, I cannot pay for the software. The server is light on my machine while running, even when it's backing up, and I had put it to the test when I had to rebuild a RAID array and recover all the servers; everything went like a breeze. I did have to update the backup location so that it may be picked up automatically in the future, or maybe it is like that for security. Either way, I strongly recommend it and if you can afford it, buy it, thank me later for this advice.
Awesome SQL and VM Backups
What do you like best about the product?
Speedy backups to a staged storage server with second-tier copies uploaded nightly to AWS S3. Fast and flexible restores when I need them. Notification emails keep me well informed.
What do you dislike about the product?
A tad complicated sometimes, but support is reasonable.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backups used to take 9 hours, now take less than an hour, with far more being backed up. The upload to S3 solves offsite rotation.
Veeam Backup & Replication is the simplest and most effective backup software I used so far
What do you like best about the product?
The setup is easy to do and well documented, if you ever deploy backup systems from other vendor you will know it can be really difficult to do the initial setup and configuration. The setup is straightforward and there's nothing I could not figure out by just reading the online documentation. The data deduplication and compression is pretty good, even if your storage array doesn't support this feature, it's done on the Veeam server itself. You can send local backup to AWS directly, that's a real plus for us to be able to have off-prem backup copies.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Veeam Backup & Replication to have an integrated functionnality to generate reports of all the backup jobs and copy jobs at once, it seem to be a feature available only if you install Veeam ONE.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had different softwares to take backups of our systems, I installed Veeam Backup & Replication to centralize the backups and to deduplicate the data, I'm really pleased with the result. We reduced the total backup size by at least 1/3 by configuring Veeam properly.
Amazing Product
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great product. It protects our data from any Hardware Failures or Accidental Deletion of files. Recovering the data is very easy and reliable. It's a great fit for Hyper-V environment. I do the backups for my 4 servers and it's seamless. I tried recovery in case of disaster recovery and it was very quick and easy. Great Product. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far it fulfills all our requirements and we do no have any issues or any dislikes. But a Faster start-up of the application would make life easy.

It's a great product. I will give 10/10 and would recommend to anyone out there. Not at all expensive if you compare with other solutions.
