What do you like best about the product?
Veeam is very customer oriented. They help from the moment they are engaged. They thrive on customer satisfaction and success. Veeam was willing to help with multiple POCs and demonstrations in order to help leadership and the admin understand the product and how it fits into the environment for best results.
We are very satisfied with the Veeam virtual lab and the ability to stage backups and restores at ease.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at this time. We are in the early states of our implementation and everything has been positive thus far.
I would have been even more satisfied if the Veeam licencing was structured in such a way that it included 0365 backups. That is our next pain point that I believe Veeam will be able to tackle.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to implement a strong, readily available, and tested backup solution. Several cost benefits and usability items have already been addressed. We had a solution that unfortunately failed during a time that we needed it most. We were not able to readily test backups. Veeam has provided this solution and puts the organization at ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand you environment. Identify what your goal is. What do backups mean? How often do they need to be tested.

Availability Suite is an outstanding product with this latest release delivering significant enhancements in performance and reliability. During implementation and testing I accessed Veeam support and the support service was first class.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike. The product is easy to configure and use.

This product is significantly enhanced our disaster recovery planning

What I like best is that the product works. It is just like having automatic transmission. I put it in gear and just drive.

Updates must be installed manually is one downside to the product.

It has been so nice when problems arise to be made aware of it right away.

Doing an auto update for the application with option to disable.

Veeam ONE - Deep Insight, without a catch!
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam ONE dives deep into every aspect of your virtualization environment & gives insight into each piece.
What do you dislike about the product?
I see no downside at all to using this product at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veeam ONE give us insight into what our VM's are doing, and how the sizing of memory & processor can be adjusted for maximum use of available resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pull the trigger and get Veeam ONE. It offers insight to resource monitoring all in one application.
Excellent Backup Tool and a MUST HAVE!
What do you like best about the product?
If you run a VMWare Virutal Environment Veeam Backup and Replication is the tool you need to streamline all of your backup jobs as well as replications. This is a worry free tool which makes the headaches of keeping backups and replication jobs organized and maintained. This solution is also a great teaching tool for any young system administrators who are new to backing up and restoring VM's. It's built in wizard lay out all of the necessary information allowing for any admin to orgainzed when creating backup jobs as well as tracking them through logs. Moreover, the most important part about Veeam and where I believe it shines is during restoration of VMs. In a critical situation Veeam makes restoring VM's very fool proof at the click of just a few buttons you've saved a burning environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Veeam has very little disadvantages and during the time that we've used it in our company, its been very difficult to find anything wrong with it. The best part about Veeam is their stance behind their product. In the event there are any issues with configuration, Veeam Support is one call away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Veeam not only are we able to streamline our backup jobs and keep them organized through out each of our data centers. We are able to keep a consistent scheduling to ensure that we are never without backups of any machine in our virtual environment. We have also been able to do carryout a large scale data center migration with the help of Veeam Backup and Replication. As we backup servers in one datacenter we are able to easily replicate and restore them into other datacenters we have integrated with Veeam. This eliminates high utilization of bandwidth between our datacenters to transfer VM's while backing them up at the same time.
Just an awesome software suite for all SMEs and bigger
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and feature set! The software is easy to use and to work out how to do stuff without having to go through a knowledge base or documentation. There is a vast array of features to this software suite, far more than just backup. Being able to backup my infrastructure to multiple on-site and off-site locations, across a variety of repository types, whilst also being able to fire up an isolated environment to test these backups is simply brilliant. The more I want or need to do, the more Veeam seems to be able to do for me. Extra plugins or configuration doesn't take long to do and there is a wealth of experts in the Veeam community.
Veeam Support is also a big plus point- thankfully we've only need to use it a couple of times in the last 3-4 years but each time we have we have had knowledgeable support staff help us from the start, and they do courtesy email or call check ups to check we are happy and issue-free from time to time.

The many, many slight updates of the product can be tedious when everyone is just waiting for v10!
Sometimes updating the suite can be a slight pain having to do it across every place where a Veeam console is installed.
The licensing changes to instance-based was a bit of a minefield as well and even the vendor we dealt with in purchasing this got confused causing for long delays in license renewal. It's still sometimes confusing to know what is best license type to go for in the long run, both from a management and cost point of view.

As our business and IT infrastructure has grown, Veeam Availability Suite has allowed us to continue to protect this environment and monitor it using Veeam One and plan for the future grown with the capacity planning feature. It's been invaluable.

Those looking for a robust and powerful, easy to use platform to protect their virtual infrastructure should look no further.
With a wealth of features, granular options, and connectors to the cloud for backups/restores, and growing hardware vendor support, with a superb Support on the phone/email required, and a very helpful community of users, in my opinion Veeam Availability Suite is a no brainer.

A breeze to setup, and reliable as it gets!

Veeams interface is clean, and simple. All the operations are categorized and logically separated based on tasks without a lot of superfluous options, choices and filler.
The simple backup functions are fast, reliable and easily understood. All while having a lot of advanced functionality that can be utilized to better protect your environment. Add in backup copies, SOBR setup, clones, GFS archives are all functionality that is just baked in with stellar support.
Tag based, Cluster based, or single VM backups are consistent and make short work of automatically backing up new VMs.
Automatically aging out to an S3 storage compatible device is also reliable.

What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is very good on the internet, however I feel that some of the tool tips, or setup tips are missing from the user interface. Setting up GFS archive with offloading to S3 storage wasn't as cleanly layed out as it could have been in the interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We moved from a legacy backup service that was complicated, and patched to take care of a virtual environment. We realized that by trying to manage block, file, VM and other backup options we were backing up things more than once and our time to recover was far to long. Also, dploying new VMs/Servers backup was always missed in the process, by using tag based VM backups we could ensure that we are backing up what we need, when we need it and meet all RTO/RPO polcies put in place without much thought.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Veeam was the first, and Veeam is the best in the virtual infrastructure backup space. You should fully utilize the free option to test it out before buying. You will be amazed at Veeam's ability to intuitively allow you to create a full back plan.
