What do you like best about the product?
The UI is so easy to understand. I love the easy installation for all the components.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have a "Clone" feature. I had to use "Replica" from Veeam than "Clone" from vSphere to do it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backups and Replica.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of backup for VMs and managing multiple backup jobs
What do you dislike about the product?
Backing up to external drives could be easier, but it still beats other backup suites I've used
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up all VM servers (about 25) and using the repository for Veeam agent backups for physical servers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Veeam is by far the best backup software I've used and it is great for backing up VMs.

Reliable and painless

What do you like best about the product?
We’re backing up over 100TB with VAS and have had 0 failures when it comes to recovering files or VMs. The same cannot be said of our previous solution. This was our number 1 concern when picking a product. Reliability is everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The monitoring side is a bit lacking in the UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up many TB of VMs reliably and replicating copies offsite.

Worry-free backup and restoration at scale

  • June 13, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with ESXi, and Hyper-V. The smooth integration of CloudConnect for Backups and Replication.
ScaleOut Repositories for storage abstraction which allows better utilization of commodity hardware for fast backups and restorations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that comes to mind, is that often the feature I need is "coming soon in the next release." Hardly a complaint ;)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protecting both infrastructure and customer data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trial and proof of concept evaluation is always critical to ensure the best fit.

What do you like best about the product?
Centralized management of backups, their status and restore portal
What do you dislike about the product?
Still a work in progress, limited features fully implemented yet, especially remote control of VBR jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
using something like VAS will hopefully prevent logging into multiple customers networks to change or check backups.

Best Backup Software on the market

  • June 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It just works. I get good reporting on my backups, as well as the confidence that when called upon, the backups will restore without a problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wider support for various Storage Area Networks and Cloud storage vendors for some of the nifty direct tools they have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Affordability and reliability were the biggest problems we had. Veeam was cheaper and better than our last backup solution, and it was an easy decision to move.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everyone I've recommended this software to has loved it and purchased it for their use. This is a great company that is continually informing and educating customers.

Veeam Just Works, And It's Quite Refreshing

  • May 30, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
We have had Veeam for almost two years now, and it has been nothing but a joy to use. The interface is clean and simple, the recovery process is easy and fast, and the server-side client gives you more than enough tools to effectively manage your backups and endpoints. Even for bare metal restores, the process is very simple. In under an hour, your dead computer is completely restored, as if nothing ever happened. This does require some effort on your part though, as it is up to you to create the recovery media needed for bare-metal restores for each end user. However, once everything is set up, you generally don't have to worry about it. Another element of Veeam that sets them above the competition is their support. There is a cost to access their premium support, but it is well worth it. They are there when you need them, and are very knowledgeable about their product. They will get you up and running again very quickly. Overall, this product is outstanding, we will continue to use them for years to come. We are now looking into their offsite cloud solution to host our secondary backups as well, and I am sure that their quality will not falter even when hosting our data off-premise.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have heard that this may be coming out in a future update, but there is still no centralized management for end user workstations. That means if you need to update the settings, or change the back-up destination, time, or time-frame, you have to go to the actual computer and update it there. It's not a big deal if you don't change your settings often, but it can be a hassle when you do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Endpoint, server, and VM backups. Plain and simple. The best thing about Veeam is the ease of use. The interface is simple, but also very powerful. On the end-user's computer, the agent is very simple, and does not contain too much information, whereas, on the client-side, the reporting tools hold a huge amount of data that you can mine for information on your backup architecture.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out. You will be glad you did the first time you restore a completely broken computer without issues.
