Easiest way to export PDFs in a .NET backend environment
What do you like best about the product?
IronPDF is easy to use, easy to implement and way more stable than any attempt we previously tried to export PDFs from HTML with Puppeteer and other such libraries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat expensive when all you're interested in is the feature for exporting HTML to PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily export PDFs from any given HTML.

IronPDF superior C# library for PDF Generations. Works in the cloud and as container as well!
What do you like best about the product?
Since switching to IronPDF our backend has started to create perfect PDFs. IronPDF supports HTML to PDF and renders the PDF exactly the way you see it in Chrome, as it is Chromium-based. We have used IronPDF in Azure as an App Service and also as a Docker container. They support a Linux version as well as a regular Windows one. I've contacted the IronPDF support team a couple of times and their response time is great. They have debugging options in their library, in case a PDF doesn't look as expected, this can be enabled and all the generated logs can be sent to support, which will revise and give suggestions based on your personal HTML template. It is straightforward to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I am really happy with the product. Used it for 2 years now. We have exported thousands of reports since.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it removes the need to use NuGet packages that are building PDFs line by line and are extremely hard to maintain and style. With IronPDF you can convert an HTML, that supports CSS into a PDF. The way you see it in Chrome, is how you are gonna receive it via IronPDF NuGet.
Best tool to process PDF on backend
What do you like best about the product?
It is very useful to generate PDF from data on backend. we have more control over backend to generate PDF from data that comes from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
If we have dynamic content in PDF then paging is not handled properly which is also a challange for themselves becuase it is not easy to handle dynamic data that can go to multiple pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BEfore using IRON PDF, we was using Kendo UI for PDF generation which generates PDF on frontend, which was fast but PDF format was not correct. we tried every possible trick to correct the PDF format but we failed. so we researched and found IRON PDF, which is very good for handling PDF formats because it is generating PDF from backend.

Reasonable licensing.
Ease of use.

Ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like the ability to generate a blank Pdf (and specify number of pages) so content can be added/appended later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to change the document page size and orientation, as well as add additional content to the page(s). The ability to generate content from HTML was a great feature (HTMLStamper). It integrated well with our current tech stack, and support is very helpful and responsive.
Ok PDF software component for .NET, questionable support practices and costs
What do you like best about the product?
We purchased the Iron Suite of software componets which included IronPDF which we use primarly to convert HTML into PDF documents. The IronPDF software is fairly straight forward to implement and produces PDF output similar to other PDF packages we have used. They support various OS's (Windows and Linux) and various deployment methods including several for the cloud and containers which is particulay useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to pay attention to updates and even minor releases as these can sometimes introduce bugs or change slightly the way PDFs get rendered and therefore the PDF output may not be as expected / not look great as something on the page has changed. If you don't catch this in testing, end users may see a bad result.
Support costs. We have had several issues with renewing annual support and software updates for the Iron Suite we purchased some years back. Despite thinking we were buying a perpetual license with reasonable ongoing annual support costs; Iron Software seem determined to not support their original perpetual license packages and push existing customers on to newer more expensive versions of the product where they have tweaked the definition of the product license. This year they originally sent us a renewal notice for just over twice the cost we paid last year, we renewed but were then told this is a mistake and that we would have to pay almost 10x the cost we paid last year for support. Despite sending a renewal notice out for the lower amount that we purchased they would not honour this. The way we were orignally treated by Iron Support I did not recommend this company however managment did eventually reach out and attempt to resolve the situation amicably so I have updated this review. Going forwards I would recommend as the software does have many good features but I would still be wary of purchasing any software from them where you intend to embed the software either internally or externally in a product which you can’t easily remove and replace with an alternative. If you need certainty perhaps consider purchasing multi-year support upfront. Obviously, no enterprise wants to run out-of-date software with no support and potential vulnerabilities.

The software is great, the Tier 1 support staff has never been a enjoyable or fast exprience. However the Developer team has been super helpful.

I used it to create dynamic data deletion letter. My last job we would send about 300 letters a day. They would manually update each letter with the name of the person. Iron PDF was able to work with our API and data and format PDF's to print.
