Super easy intergration with our LMS and a wide variety of content
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time we can only have one administrator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly putting out great training to our company. Helps provide employee developement and safety courses
OpenSesame Rocks!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, great customer service, best Account Manager (Alissa Burch), and fantastic course catalog.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need bulk uploads to be quicker, but I think there's a solution happening soon for this. :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote and on site learning, compliance trainings, and on-demand trainings.
Awful service and not fair with content providers
What do you like best about the product?
OpenSesame has been one of the pioneer in that industry but hasn't evolved since, both the product and support are subpar and they make money on the back of content providers that you could buy directly from.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system is antiquated and they don't have any respect for the content providers, their QA process is simply some of the worst in the industry and the platform is not modern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aggregating content from multiple providers at a very high cost is they OpenSesame is known for, if going directly to one provider is not enough then you can use it but it will cost usually up to 10x more than buying directly.
Improving content offerings with OpenSesame
What do you like best about the product?
OpenSesame has a robust catalog covering content for multiple topics and industries. As an international organization, we also appreciate the expansive language options.
What do you dislike about the product?
The recent LMS integration option was a nice addition; however, there is still an opportunity for improvement with this feature. OpenSesame has an extensive catalog, and there is currently no easy way to move sections, topics or full publisher catalogs in mass without having to go through the timely process of creating lists and then sending those lists to your integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenSesame provides quality content from a variety of publishers in one location. This reduces the number of content vendor relationships we have to manage/maintain and dramatically lessens the administrative burden of content management.
Synching with LMS
What do you like best about the product?
ease of integration with my LMS, Bridge. Seemless really. Good search features and also a lot of content to choose from.
What do you dislike about the product?
They remove courses all the time and it causes issues for us to find replacements of the same consistency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
offering business solutions in an asynchronous method. Allowing us to choose courses and easily upload them to our LMS
Recommendation
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and insightful. Helps with my professional communication skills.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time I cannot think of anything that I do not like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Correct grammar and spelling use.
Great place to get Learning Content and wonderful free cloud platform
What do you like best about the product?
The variety of content that is available is wide.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all publishers use platforms that match our network security, and a lot of testing and whitelist exceptions have to be made for those classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing manager training that is required for government contractors. There are a lot of other training options available with OpenSesame.
Best option for our client's needs
What do you like best about the product?
Large selection from a wide variety of vendors that is constantly being updated. Great tools for searching and selecting courses. Analytics and reports are super-useful. Also, the people at OpenSesame are always really helpful. We did a lot of research for our client (Article.com) to find the most cost-effective solution for their needs, and OpenSesame came out on top in every category, including price, ease of use, and selection. My company implements our LMS software and if clients need content, we do everything we can to meet that need as fast as we can to get the client up and running. In this case, OpenSesame was a perfect fit.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no standards for output from SCORM objects, and no information available from any vendors on getting output from SCORM objects. Nearly all courses only provide a pass-fail at the end, and the only method of progress tracking uses the local browser cache only, and can't pass progress data back to the LMS. Everything I dislike about OpenSesame has to do with a lack of data from SCORM objects. That said, their competitors don't seem to do this any better. The problem is vendors doing the bare-bones minimum to generate SCORM objects, and not using the full capabilities that SCORM offers. This is an area ripe for innovation and disruption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to set up an enterprise LMS solution ASAP for Article.com, the fastest-growing company in Canada several years running, and we were starting from scratch. We realize that our client aims to eventually produce all of their own internal training materials, and they are working on that constantly, but until then, OpenSesame fills in all the missing bits for them, which is really helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I always encourage others to do their own research. Don't just take my word for it, but if you compare OpenSesame to every other content aggregator in the same space, you will come to the same conclusion I did: OpenSesame provides the largest selection of high-quality SCORM courses at the best rates, with the best reporting and service available. That may not always be the case, but as of the date I'm writing this, OpenSesame is well out in front of their competitors, in my opinion, based on my research.
Provides a valuable resource for our field reps
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the courses are short and succinct and allow the field reps to get optional professional development
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure, as it seems to suit our needs at the time. Maybe more courses that are tied specifically to sports management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
That there was never really a concentrated, national effort to promote professional development with our sales reps in the field. This is one of the ways we're addressing it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you haven't implemented any sort of professional development/onboarding with your teams, this is a good place to start
