Incident Management

  • October 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We switched to Squadcast from Pagerduty. We found that the interface was similar and intuitive, and had all of the necessary functionality. It was a pretty seamless transition, even or our various integrations with Slack and Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
The on-call calendar view can be confusing, especially when there are overrides or exporting the calendar view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping a rotating schedule of on call engineers, so someone is always available and notified of any incident.

Solid system, user interface a bit confusing but constantly improving and accepting customer input

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part is the automatic escalation for incident response, and all of the customization that comes along with it (delay time, extra notifications, notification type, etc.) - great frequency of use and ease of integration here. Also, I can't skip out on mentioning my second favorite part about Squadcast - the customer support. I've been on a call or two when their company is releasing updates and wanted to chat and answer customer questions. As far as their updates and improvements that they release, it REALLY feels like they listen to customer complaints, recommedations and wishes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It still just seems counter-intuitive on the portal, the app has definitely been improved though. Almost flawless on the mobile app at this point. But getting anything management-related done is odd feeling, such as trying to adjust the scheduling for different teams. This would reduce the ease of use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Squadcast helped solve our issue of needing proper non-business hour escalation. Proper on-call rotation setup with the proper fallback escalation should a response not be given, and all of this setup across multiple different teams (which would all require different escalation configurations).

Best Schedules, noisy alerts.

What do you like best about the product?
Flexible Schedules, as an international team this is really important to us.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no alert severity levels, and all alerts no suppressed makes my phone ring, it would be nice to have different severities that react differently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Observability Alerting on a Distributed Team

Squadcast Review

  • October 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Squadcast is great for scheduling on-call engineers especially for different teams. It also can easily integrate with other systems so you can get an automated call or message when something is going wrong.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside that I've had recently is the switch from the old scheduling to new scheduling. Here, our calendars got out of sync and we had to reset the order of engineers on-call schedules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's an easy scheduler for on-call as well as alerting us when something is going wrong in our system.

Great Product for Businesses Who Need an On-Call Scheduler

  • October 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The reporting of incidents where those on call are directly notified through multiple modes of communication and the ability to indefinitely schedule members for shifts, is very nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation pane can be frustrating to use as on a desktop, the icons arent always obvious, so it would be nice if the navigation pane was wider with a description next to them instead of a tooltip. Rescheduling for individual shifts is not very intuitive for the organization, so it does not get used, unfortunately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Squadcast is making on-call managment and application incident reporting more streamlines for those on call during incidents.

you may encounter limitations in customizing and tailoring the tool to your specific needs. This may include customization of notification channels, incident workflows, or other aspects that are critical to your organization's processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notification and alerting: Squadcast can send notifications and alerts to team members through various channels (such as email, SMS, or mobile apps) when an incident occurs. This ensures that the relevant individuals are promptly informed about issues that require their attention.

Escalation policies: Squadcast enables teams to define escalation policies to ensure that if an incident is not acknowledged or resolved within a specific time frame, it is escalated to the next level of support or management. This helps prevent incidents from going unnoticed or unaddressed.
