IT Operations Simplified

  • March 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the dashboard the most. It has a very clean layout and is realtime. The on-call schedules capability is also great. It was easy to onboard the rest of the team onto Squadcast. The tool just works and does its job really well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great if we could configure the escalation policies from the mobile app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Squadcast is solving our problem of maintaining tight error budgets. Before we used Squadcast we had issues like delayed response acknowledgment and response times. A lot of it was due to misconfigured integrations with some of our monitoring tools, and lack of good alert suppression capabilities. The Squadcast team was quite responsive and helped fix some of the issues we were facing with bidirectional integrations and basic dedupe capabilities.

Good incident management tool for MSPs

  • March 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Squadcast integrates with different monitoring systems that we have and notifies priority alerts that needs our attention. It has improved our process of dealing with incidents to make sure we never is those critical alerts that affects our systems. As an MSP, we like the fact that we can use multiple account scopes in Squadcast and have common billing for all of them.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it’s not perfect there isn’t much to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We help entreprises with digital transformation which requires us to work with a number of monitoring systems and monitoring them all at once is quite difficult. To manage all these efficiently we use Squadcast. It integrates with those monitoring systems easily and alerts us if there is something that needs our attention.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Squadcast is very effective at incident response and provides great reporting capabilities (if you need something specific in the report, just ask their Support team). We would recommend it for anyone looking for a good incident response tool.

Great app for SREs

  • March 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Real-time dashboards are a big plus, everything gets updated on web instantly. The same quick and snappy feel is continued throughout other features of the application. It’s super easy to switch Slack channels which are synced for the alerts, depending on noise levels and context. Features like alert forwarding are useful for temporary rerouting of critical alert information. Overall, a very intuitive and easy-to-use product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some feature that are missing or as informed to us, in the pipeline.
One of them is de-duplication of alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My job is to ensure quality control of our platform, while guaranteeing continuous innovation. Squadcast is one of those highly dependable apps that helps scale engineering productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you do a POC with Squadcast like we did, you may appreciate the thought and hard work that went into building every feature. They have done a pretty good job!

Supercharged on-call and incident management

  • March 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Squadcast has excellent on-call and incident management with clean UI. One can create various squads with multiple schedules for daily, weekly, or custom rotations. Incidents in these schedules have customizable escalation policies to make sure alerts are sent to the right folks in a timely manner. Everything works perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have a public API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We aim to have highly reliable, secure and fast services for a great user experience. However, unpredictable load on the infrastructure requires us to take rapid actions. Squadcast is very helpful to ensure complete transparency of the incident response process. It’s very easy to setup and use.

Reducing alert fatigue from day 1

  • March 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple UI/UX and brilliant features to eliminate unwanted alerts. The alert suppression and maintenance mode in particular are the best. They are a smart way to filter the critical alerts from the noisy ones. Engineers could configure them easily and we started noticing the impact from the very first day. We are not wasting any time on useless alerts like the ones that get generated when we run scheduled maintenance on the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren’t anything particular things that we dislike about Squadcast. Maybe it might be better to have more customization with the Prometheus integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with clients across industries and verticals and provide supply chain traceability technology. So we have a lot of data coming in from thousands of different connected devices and systems which triggers hundreds of alerts in monitoring. With Squadcast we get critical alerts while suppressing the unwanted / low level alerts.

Using Squadcast to take right actions collectively and fixing issues in time

  • March 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration on Squadcast is awesome. It has useful features like incident timelines and virtual war rooms to get more operational transparency in order to handle incidents as a team. The team has taken advantage of this to tightly scope critical incident response activity to Squadcast, to clearly identify the causal flow of activity during incidents much better.
What do you dislike about the product?
No major complaints so far and it just works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We migrated to Kubernetes recently and setup auto-scaling. The cluster was highly tuned to our traffic patterns, which are dynamic and unpredictable. So we setup auto-scaling but this generated a lot of alerts. Squadcast helped us organize these alerts, so they can respond to these issues ASAP.

No more messy operations headaches

  • March 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Incident timeline shows the complete picture of the incidents and response. We can quickly identify the source of an alert, review the alert information, see who has acknowledged and responded. Actions can be taken in coordination with the responsible team members or “Squads” on the incident specific dashboard. This has helped us in keeping the whole team on the same page regarding various incidents and streamline our operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Squadcast mobile application can have more features like manually creating incidents and editing escalation policies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because we have a large customer base a critical incident that isn’t handled effectively in time can affect our business. With Squadcast we could manage incidents in much more organised and productive way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We tried PD, but we were not comfortable with the pricing and the product features available. The Squadcast team was highly accommodative and responsive.

Centralized incident management on one platform!

  • March 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We mainly used the app to get all our alerting in one platform and managed to actually get the right people to receive the alerts. We, as a team, managed to resolve incidents quicker with the complete visibility on the incident status.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are yet to have a negative experience. We have received immediate support from their team for any kind of issues we had. And we didn't have many.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our major problem was having to constantly look into all out tools to ensure that everything is up and running.
Getting it all into a single platform so the main focus is on quicker incident resolution was a big win for us.
Plus it is an affordable solution for a company our size.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We were actually able to improve our MTTR and MTTA with Squadcast. We were sold on the support we received throughout. They were always willing to hear us out and provide solutions that worked. Start the trial, see if this fits your alerting requirements. For us, it did.

Our Ops teams love it!

  • February 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- We have full control over on-call issues as every user has access to Squadcast. Read-only access is free for stakeholder users.
- Pretty flexible in how each individual can choose how to be notified. I’ve setup almost all my professional and personal contact info in the notification chain.
- Incident exclusion and alert forwarding is really helpful when you don’t want to be disturbed. Have used this a ton when I go on vacation.
- Easy to use mobile app. Always works, clean UI that makes it easy on the eyes in the middle of the night.
What do you dislike about the product?
On-call schedules can be improved, to support follow-the-sun schedules. Useful for teams that have members who are split across multiple continents.
Can have more features on mobile app that are available on the web app. Right now, you can use the mobile app primarily for responding to an incident. Re-configuring the system on-the-go is not possible from mobile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We found it super hard to have a central place where all incidents were available for everyone to see. Individual sub-teams made different decisions based on budgets, and personal preferences. We’re now incrementally transitioning to Squadcast. So far, we’ve seen that people find this much faster and easier to use than other tools. It’s quite reliable as well - never really had any issues on that front. That’s all we’re looking for now. Something good that everyone in our org can use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool which serves our purpose. It helped us improve our team's overall efficiency.
Anyone one in the market for an IT alerting tool should check this out.

Helps maintain SLAs and stay within our error budgets

  • February 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple alerting options are a boon for us. Our system needs a high degree of reliability. All critical incidents must be notified immediately to our engineers so our systems are always online. With Squadcast, we can ensure coordinated response from the incident commander, as well as other key stakeholders. Some of our SLAs require us to ack within a few minutes which was difficult with conventional tools. We’ve noticed that the time for all key stakeholders to be aware of an incident status has reduced dramatically with Squadcast.
What do you dislike about the product?
No IVR based incident triggers...that could be cool for some super critical deployments that we have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted faster acks and resolution of incidents as any significant downtime for us implies a huge loss in revenue. Squadcast helped us maintain SLAs by acknowledging and resolving incidents faster with a coordinated response, which, in turn, has helped us stay within our acceptable error budgets.
