DiscoverOrg helps drive business
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to list match and mass upload contacts into Salesforce. This saves me so much time in my day-to-day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inaccuracy of information with numbers. A lot of time they will have numbers, but they end up being wrong or mobile numbers are really office lines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am saving myself time on a daily basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
get better numbers, but it sounds like with the acquisition of Zoom info they are headed in the right direction.

I like that there is an updated org chart and extensive direct dial numbers with a high degree of accuracy

sometimes people who work in Finance aren't listed under the finance tab but another tab and I can't access it.
several times I have called a number to find out that it is the prospects home phone and they were very displeased.

Core Intelligence Tech
What do you like best about the product?
The scoops, opp alerts, org charts, technology insights and deal predict are invaluable to our marketing and sales organization. We are vertical focused so DO filled a massive gap in our intelligence and campaign planning tech that we were in desperate need of.
What do you dislike about the product?
The handoff from sales to CSM was a bit rocky, but we worked through it.
We are vertical focused and the parent/child company relationships have given us some limitations on data that we would like to see, but in the end we are able to work with our CSM to get either 1) In App data or 2) data through an excel file.
The account reporting dashboards are in process, but would be very helpful as we continue to leverage DO in territory.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use DO to gather account intel, prioritize accounts within territories and build lists for marketing campaigns based on personas. We have also been able to utilize DO data to break into accounts we have been focused on for quite some time but never had the direct dial information - this has proven amazing for our bus dev team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Does integrate with Hubspot CRM/MAP, which is a bonus for those using those platforms.
Great platform to find contacts for Mid-Market and Enterprise companies.
What do you like best about the product?
No charge for exports or pushing contacts to your CRM. I've used others that charges a per contact fee even if the contact has been exported before or is already in your database. Sometimes it's nice to just be able to run a report in DiscoverOrg and export.
What do you dislike about the product?
Doesn't have the best coverage on SMB companies. Searching for contacts is difficult, you have to first search through the company and then try to find the contact within the company. They limit the titles based on job function so you have to pay for C-suite, Operations, Finance, IT all separately in order to access these contacts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying key contacts for prospect companies during outbound business development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very expensive so you may be able to find alternative solutions depending on your need and budget. With the acquisition of ZoomInfo, their data will most likely improve but they now own the market and dictate pricing.
Big database, outdated data
What do you like best about the product?
DiscoverOrg is easy to use and a great resource for basic account planning/sales outreach efforts. It's a much more comprehensive tool than others out there due to its contact lists, contact information (including direct lines), reporting hierarchies, and tools the company & employee are using.
What do you dislike about the product?
Information is often very far out of date:
- titles need updated
- phone numbers are inaccurate
- contacts have left the company
- tools are way out of date: it seems that they will find out what the company is using, and never ask what tools it replaced or what they stopped using. Additionally, the grouping of some of these tools is highly inconsistent across account
- Missing contacts: you can easily go on LinkedIn and find a slew of people with the titles you're looking for, and many of them are not in DiscoverOrg

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DiscoverOrg is used as a sales intelligence tool as a starting point to identify potential contacts for cold calling & sales outreach. It is a great starting point, but the information nearly always needs to be verified due to the lack of upkeep.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'm excited about the direction of the product and company as they continue to grow and acquire others in the market, most recently ZoomInfo.

Saves us time looking for the right contacts to reach out to. Benefits our company because we can focus time on other aspects of the sale.

The deep data contained per company makes it a good starting point for research

I have found several people that are no longer with the organization as they are listed in DiscoverOrg. Data could be cleaner.

Do not think it is 100%. It is a tool to help find prospects, not the absolute database

What do you like best about the product?
The org charts. The bulk add features. The smart views & account preferences for sorting based on criteria. SUPER fast & awesome customer support!
What do you dislike about the product?
Outdated prospect information. The interface does seem a bit clunky (too many clicks to get somewhere) at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reaching out to the correct people & avoiding wasting time on those who can’t make decisions. We have seen a huge leap in time added back into our day just by narrowing our criteria & using filters, whereas before it was a Sales Navigator scavenger hunt.
