The transcriptions have variable quality: sometimes even whitelisted words are not recognized, if they have an unusual pronunciation (foreign words)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted a way to quickly transcribe audio files (podcasts), allowing me to only have to fix automatic transcription mistakes by hand
Amazing Real Time Experience Using DeepGram
What do you like best about the product?
The most Helpful thing about deepgram is that it provides a real-time transcript that is smoothly done with the help of DeepGram API. It is one of the most fastest and accurate and precise API.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it requires more time to develop easy to use interface, prima facia I face so many difficulties regarding use of API but after some time I used to do it smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used deepgram to solve the problem of communication between two different languages first upload an audio file then the transcript that is delivered by deepgram is used to convert it to another language.

I like the documentation around the deepgram API. It makes setup very easy to apply to any project.

There are a few words the speech to text API would get wrong.

I am working on a creating a game using deepgram API, it is built to allow users to say what the word they are guessing.

Super easy to apply with great documentation and tutorials.

I wanted to convert PCM 16 bit endian audio. Amazon Transcribe doesnt support it but deepgram does

I would have liked detailed documentation with some examples more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transcription. PCM encoded 16 bit audio are supported in cheaper cost.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it has a step by step guide, though it isn't the most obvious. There are lots of good features such as proportion of words and likelihood of words and the api is intuitive enough to get started quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It wasn't easy to find everything it had to offer eg other languages, though they are also in somewhat of a beta state. The documentation is a little confusing, it is better to direct uses to somewhere with the core features first.

I was trying to caption peoples speech into code/maths, and it was good at capturing the words we wanted with different likelihoods. Deppgram helped us do that very simply.

I have searched for and experimented with many speech analytics libraries available today, including libraries from major software providers. Deepgram ticked all our requirement boxes with very satisfactory results.

1. Not much awareness in comparison to other speech to text solutions even though being better (eg. Google's Services)

Try it out with $150 free credit, which is more than enough for most use cases and small personal projects. I had a great experience using Deepgram's speech recognition API's
Deepgram makes it easier than typing up notes manually, but you need to do a lot of editing.

The fact I can import audio from the API, and that you can also have this done online.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deepgram makes too many mistakes, and if there are a lot of voices, it cannot distinguish between them. The AI mislabels the speaker as the wrong person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I recorded a lot of Zoom meetings during lockdown and wanted to extract the useful information from the filler quickly and Deepgram helped me do that.

Don't expect miracles, AI currently cannot replace humans so you will need to edit your results.

It does not offer an API for desktop solutions build with C#. The API is only for .NET core which is not really usable in desktop apps.
