I used this Marketplace AMI to quickly get Geneos Monitoring up and running in 3 Availability Zones that we use. I can use the Gateway and Local Netprobe to dive into services that we can't install Netprobe's on like Lambda and RDS.

What do you like best about the product?
1. Best monitoring and alerting tool in the current market.
2. Huge benefits in Prodcution environment by capturing alerts and emails based on the configuration set up.
3. You have an ability to develop your own scriopts and set up monitoring based on the script created.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. Appearance of the tool can be improved, at the moment it looks like old day screens.
2. Documentation can be improved for ease of learning.

It reduced manual intervention and it has been replaced with alerts.

What do you like best about the product?
GENEOS is a very good tool for monitoring and creating alerts for the entire IT infrastructure. It is very valuable especially in financial services platforms which have business crtical applications and having a real time monitoring solution like geneos is necessary. I like its ability to create custom scripts and toolkits to create our own dashboards, metrics and alerts. It has good documentation and support for timely resolution of issues. It can be integrated to various production grade applications easily and gives 'ease of mind' thanks to its reliability.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, the main thing I dislike about ITRS Geneos is its steep learning curve. The production management team/support team needs to be adequealtey trained on its features for utilizing geneos effectively. The UI is also legacy compared to the modern alternatives, the dashboards give a sense of archaic and could be more modernized and intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Geneos primariy as a real time monitoring and alerting tool for business critical applications. All the applications, databases are integrated with GENEOS and custom alerting has been put in place to thwart any potetial issues or outages. It helps in ensuring that the business applications are up and running anf functioning in the intended manner.
