A Tool for Enhancing UX that Has the Potential for Better UX

  • April 06, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
WalkMe has greatly assisted my organization in providing just-in-time guidance to help users of Workday complete business processes successfully. It has served as an improved solution over standard PDF job aids that required a more thorough review to find assistance, and that had the potential for outdated copies to be saved and referenced.
The tool is flexible, allowing solution engineers to consider a variety of different approaches to improve user experience through Smart Walk-thrus (step-by-step guidance through a process), SmartTips (enhanced tooltips), and ShoutOuts (pop-up advertisements).
There are many helpful resources available for tool administrators. The Solutions Gallery allows developers to choose from a thorough selection of pre-designed solutions. WalkMe World is an active user community that is one of the best I have seen for insight and support from other users. The training, which has both paid and free options, is robust.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although WalkMe is a tool to improve user experience among systems, the UX for the tool itself is lacking in certain respects. For example, multiple"x" buttons when a window expands cause confusion as to whether you are closing the entire app or the expanded window. Menus that pop up when hovering over an item rather than clicking it get in the way of trying to accomplish tasks.
As an advanced developer, I experience many technical problems that should not occur. For example, the Menu Search feature is not robust, with results that should be intuitive left out of searches. Adding simple keywords to improve the search simply does not work. To test this, I added the keyword "avocado" to one of our solutions and, when that word is searched, an entirely different solution with the word "vocational" in its description is top of the list, with the intended solution missing from the search results entirely.
Support from WalkMe is highly lacking. During our implementation project, we would reach out to WalkMe with questions regarding the errors that we experienced. The typical answer was something like, "Well, what you're doing should be working. Have you found a convoluted workaround? Great! Use that instead." We also experienced misinformation as we dealt with a high turnaround at WalkMe during our project. Every time we would be assigned a new account manager, we would have to re-tell our story.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our goal for using WalkMe was two-fold. First, we wanted to eliminate/reduce our provided PDF job aids and provide a solution that was more of a just-in-time approach that seemed native to the system being used. The job aids were comprehensive documents that required a user to scour the full document to find where they are in a certain process. The benefit of WalkMe is that it meets users in the system at the step for which they need assistance. We were successful in significantly reducing our job aid content and pointing users to WalkMe for guidance.
Our second goal is to reduce the volume of inquiries to our support center by providing more robust self-guidance in the system for which we are using WalkMe. We are currently early in our full operational state and have yet to see how WalkMe has impacted inquiry volume.

What do you like best about the product?
The way it is easy to create simple solutions for our customers!
What do you dislike about the product?
That the customers need to adapt to WalkMe, that is kind of difficult. But when they do, it's an amazing experience for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating training exercises, leaving behind the creation of videos and training sheets and doing everything on WalkMe

Review on WalkMe

What do you like best about the product?
WalkMe is interactive, step-by-step guidance to help users adopt new capabilities, processes, and features added to a platform. It helps drive landing and adoption and can bridge the gap in digital friction.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it can be difficult when building and element grades aren't good enough for WalkMe to continue. jQuery knowledge is recommended and WalkMe University has modules to learn.
It is straightforward guidance that it cannot capture if the user wanders off course. However, if splits are identified, the build can improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With WalkMe we can assist users with new experiences, new or updated processes, ensuring records are complete and fields are filled correctly before moving stages, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend this tool if the organization faces challenges with processes, landing /adoption.

What do you like best about the product?
Customers Experience with WalkMe has never been failed. Very proactive in solving case studies and helping companies to perform at a maximum level. Very knowledgable team to work with and not to forget the positive vibes that they have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike. WalkMe has always been evolving since the beginning of its journey in the market and making sure learning from the past is the result of today's success.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Navigating new users in a HR system as the company is international level with users around the world. Making the users life more easier and less contacting the support team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A great solution to be used during this pandemic. Very easy for any type of users whether by age, gender, race, etc.

Top DAP tool available

What do you like best about the product?
WalkMe is a very intuitive digital adoption platform that allows the user to jump in, get trained, and start impacting end-users in a very short time frame. The training process is very fluid and tackles a lot of the challenges you will face as you're deploying WalkMe. The tool allows you to tackle problems from a very surface level, to an in-depth and technical solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The multi-language support is something that needs improving. The current way of either going through the admin settings or uploading a CSV file, where you need to keep in mind all BBcode, is not a user-friendly way of working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using WalkMe in 3 different ways.

1. As a training tool within a Microsoft Dynamics instance - we deployed it within a training environment where users are guided through their standard training practices. Much easier to learn while in the flow of work vs. following a manual or training videos, and then accessing the tool itself.
2. Support menu and resources hub - one place to find all needed items and processes for end-users
3. Guidance support - tackle complex processes by using WalkMe smart-walkthroughs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the top DAP tool in the market. Awesome support and functionality.

Very Helpful Software and Responsive Team

What do you like best about the product?
WalkMe is usually coming up with new ideas for the product to keep it fresh and are quick to help you out if you get stuck on a design issue. I also appreciate the community that they've developed around it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't say that there is too much to dislike about it. There is a fairly big learning curve when you first begin designing, however once you get the hang of it then it gets much easier. I should mention that the only reason why I felt that there was a learning curve is that I don't usually work in software that requires knowledge of things like jQuery.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use WalkMe primarily for help with understanding Workday. We've developed a full help menu with context sensitive help throughout Monday by using WalkMe. We also use it for notifications on occassion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time when starting out with it. There's a lot to learn but it's worth it.

What do you like best about the product?
Digital Adoption Platform + Workstation. Provides insights across entire digital tech stack and allows us to drive efficiency and productivity with tips, guidance and automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides or anything missing that we use today from this product. I believe it is important to ensure it can be used on mobile applications if it is going to be expanded to Field Service tools, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ramp up too long - improves onboarding and in application training. Efficiency within commercial tech stack. Provides the assurance that we will drive efficiency and utilization of tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with Walkme on Saleforce to build out priority use cases to drive efficiency and productivity. Expand with DAP. Add Workstation as the Sales person customizable conceirge.

One of the top DAP tools with great support; spot-on and quick reply to help you

What do you like best about the product?
1) The features such as shoutouts, smart tips (tool tips), surveys, smart walk-throughs to guide users (or even do things for users with auto-step) , ActionBot (so that you can put in some logics and messages to interact with users who would like to chat and be guided through the set of questions or solutions available.

2) It is pretty easy to build and connect or replicate solutions/steps to another build, when required

3) Integration was pretty straight forward - provide the information that you need to the WalkMe team and it will be done for you, including the look-and-feel to customise according to what you want.

4) WalkMe is always looking into how they can improve the tool (latest one is AI related!)
The product team is approachable and happy to be challenged with new features if you are able to describe it so that they can look into making that possible!
What do you dislike about the product?
For Ariba, it is not very stable at times as the solution may stop working or slow down due to performance issues for Ariba

with Deep UI launched recently, I've updated jQueries and reselect on-screen elements a few times. The performance seems to have improved. Time will tell :)

ActionBot has a limited capability (e.g. it can't pass WalkMe Data from one conversation to another). Otherwise, we are using it to resolve a big pain point in the company and it works great.

Every tool has their limitations.
CSS is what I dislike the most to work on. However, the support team is always there to help if you need some CSS code for your solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing the time required to raise a ticket and get someone on the call to guide users on the "how-to" steps on top of the challenge or telling users where to click; Enhance user experience while introducing how work can be done efficiently without waiting for someone else
Enhance control and compliance
Increase employee efficiency, accuracy (less manual which may prone to human errors)

What do you like best about the product?
WalkMe is a platform that empowers Users to get the most from their enterprise applications. Whether its step by step guide, link to frequently used resource, smarttips with GIFs, etc. WalkMe provides relevant guidance, at the right place and right time.
What do you dislike about the product?
WalkMe can be challenging at times, mainly because its alive and living in the environment. With that being said, if any development or changes are made to the environment, WalkMe is at risk of no longer working. It requires a stable environment for optimal performance, working closely with the system's dev team helps keep things in order.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WalkMe provides relevant guidance, at the right place and right time. When we understand the pain-points of the business, we can place a walkme solution to add value to any process or type of situation where User's might have questions with pin-point accuracy.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability of this platform to apply to any SaaS tool is amazing. This is low code, zero downtime tool which can build content solving use cases from change management, adoption, onboarding, self-service, communication and all.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many, I would like to see if they could expand their use cases on learning certification and enterprise search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this platform for a range of use cases from onboarding, change management, communication, self-service, cross-platform access and user adoption.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think of this platform as a tool to solve enterprise platform problems than a point solution. It could solve lot of use cases which could benefit overall user productivity.
