An auto-magic, easy to use joy to work with

What do you like best about the product?
I find Tray extremely intuitive and, perhaps more importantly, more powerful to use relative to other automation tools. That's not to say there isn't a learning curve, however I think that's worth it given that once you get a base understanding of its various utilities, you can really begin to see a multitude of interesting automation use cases that can help many different teams across an organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to take component parts from other workflows and copy them over, this would make the build process much faster I believe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL'ing customer attributes from our data warehouse to marketing automation systems, automating GDPR deletion requests, powering simple chat bot responses with Intercom, pulling data from SaaS solution and putting it in data warehouse, sending customer lifecycle messages using data in our warehouse (which we can't/don't wan't to put in our marketing automation systems)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you have a semi-technical end user to administer it. That doesn't need to be an engineer per-see, just someone who is comfortable with technical concepts.

Flexible, powerful and easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
I've used other integration/automation tools in the past, and Tray is more powerful, easier to use and more flexible than the rest. The tool gives you a visual workflow format to plan and create your integrations and automation workflows. Not only does it give you out of the box connectors for common connections between tools like Salesforce, Intercom, Mode Analytics, AWS, and Segment, it gives you connectors for common functions like HTTP clients, scripts, booleans, loops, csv readers and more. These combined have allowed me to create custom workflows and integrations that perfectly match our tech stack and automation needs.

I'm a visual learner and planner, and I'm not a full fledged developer, so Tray's visual, drag and drop workflow builder makes it easy to keep track of complex functions and flows. They also have some of the best support to work with.

Overall, I highly recommend Tray for any company or team in need of a flexible automation and integration tool. It's a great platform in particular for people in technical marketing, marketing ops, growth, marketing automation and other tech adjacent roles to learn and get hands-on experience with more technical concepts and skills in order to power their work in ways that previously only developers and engineers could facilitate.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are scaling and adding features quickly, so I'm sure it's in the works, but sharing workflows that have user-level authentication steps with teammates can be tricky. It's more secure, and I prefer secure workflows over faster sharing, it's just a little quirk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to automate much of our manual data processes -- Intercom for example doesn't have a programmatic way to get message and conversation data out of the product for further investigation -- and some GDPR processes, which has saved us a ton of time.

We've also been able to automate our segmentation and audience building on the marketing automation side, so we can automatically enroll users in the most relevant communications based on current data and preferences.

Tray has allowed us to build out a full scale email marketing campaign

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to tap into our database and utilize any event to trigger an event with no engineering resources needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
No multi user accounts (yet), need to know basic SQL to get the most use out of the product, starter plan comes with limited CSM support however they have been EXTREMELY accommodating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With no engineering resources we have not been able to utilize any of marketing automation software that exists. This allows us to integrate with any of these platforms as well as keep our app lightweight because we no longer have to integrate an SDK. Within 1 week you can be up and running with pretty much any connector of your choosing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most tech companies prefer to stay lean and not employ lots of people. But with this comes a lack of engineering resources. If you can't afford to dedicate an engineer to your marketing team, Tray can be a great replacement. They can operate at a large or small scale and will be cheaper than a full time hire.

The glue that binds everything together

What do you like best about the product?
Infinite possibilities to automate. Every day another use case appears that this offering was the best choice for our area of the business. My problem now is not having enough hours in the day to complete all of them. Everyone who has spent time in their platform has fallen in love with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Teaming capabilities are currently lacking but there is a release slated soon that will address this. Once this is in place, it will be a lot easier to share workflows and administer a large group of people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating dozens of operational headaches through Tray workflows. We're becoming a lot more efficient and precise. In the past, a lot of problems were solved by using Excel and batch updates into systems. Now, we're doing direct queries to databases through Tray and pushing them into host systems directly, skipping a long and arduous process of data cleansing through Excel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You'll regret not signing up faster. Ask for Brian.

Great connector!

  • October 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that we've been able to make connections to so many disparate web apps in such a short period of time. The constantly looping triggers and subsequent actions make it easier to connect the systems clients need most. There are more pathways with this connector than any other I've used before.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like anything, a taste of something good will always lead to a thirst for more. More connectors and automation triggers please!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting systems that we don't natively connect to , quickly and hassle-free.

Tray.io automates event management workflow for 65,000 person healthcare organization.

What do you like best about the product?
I’m happy that we found Tray. The solution works flawlessly, the customer support is great, and the continued innovation will help us automate more in years to come.

Now we have 75 staff members using the solution to automate management of all our community outreach efforts across all of our facilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
We’re extremely busy at Northwell Health and sometimes I don’t have the bandwidth to add high complexity workflows in Tray myself. In that situation, I request a new configuration consulting project which Tray takes care of. It’s just a trade-off between time and resources that most growing organizations need to make.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Google Forms, Asana, and Tray.io, our team stays on track, communicates more efficiently and effectively, and can access historical data to help us understand how best to support an event. It’s definitely streamlined and improved our process.

• Automatically creates projects and tasks in Asana from event data submitted via Google Forms
• Populates fields in Asana for the appropriate hospital from Google Forms data
• Improves efficiency, communication, and collaboration
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tray.io is a flexible platform with many possibilities. If you’re not sure how to go about automating workflows, just talk to one of their customer success engineers. They are very helpful and can provide ideas on how to get your specific integration done.
