Powerflow integration workflows

  • November 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We receieved great support from Jash, an architect who helped us build out initial workflows. There are a lot of different connectors that will allow you to integrate with lots of different services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support with the support team via email was not instant and it was some times dragging on for days due to timezone differences sending 1 message per day back and forth. This may have changed now as this was based on experiences a couple of years ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray.io allowed us to automate sending messages into Slack off the back of webhook events. It also enabled us to sync employee data from a HR system into our system.

Worst vendor experience

What do you like best about the product?
It did allow us to go to market faster with two integrations. But the cost of maintenance has already severely eaten into that advantage.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the last few months, Tray has managed to delete our users, attempt to recover them, and fail -> certain customers could not access the Tray embedded integrations that are available to them due to Tray errors.
Tray's inability to change the timeout of the embedded layout to more than 5 minutes, meant that we had to add over a month of work to our timeline in order to build the UI ourselves for a very common use case: mapping CRM fields.
Tray's inability to allow us to edit the 'Finish' button for authentication means that our customers STILL see this awkward first step in the integration for authentication saying 'Finish' even though it's only the first step of the integration.
For its Salesforce connector, Tray requires FAR more permissions to the customer's Salesforce instance than we require in the integration itself: we only need read access to the specific objects that the customer maps, but Tray asks the customer for a lot more data access, to the point of 'View All Data' within Salesforce. Tray also asks for permissions to manage flows, which is ridiculous for an integration that only requires read access. Tray has made it a lot harder for us to build and ship integrations for customers, instead of easier. Our engineering team is exhausted at having to deal with Tray, and regret the decision to proceed with them as a vendor. They have changed our CSM several times and recently the only reliable person we've encountered at Tray (he was technical and answered our engineers' questions) has left the company. They keep trying to upsell us professional services in order to help 'guide us' to use the embedded app properly - but we have not learned anything in interacting with them that we did not know before from the documentation.
Further, their documentation has been incorrect, leading us to believe that more customer-side permissions are required than they actually are. Please spend some time ensuring your documentation is up-to-date, instead of trying to sell clients more professional service hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray embedded's value proposition is to make integrations easier + faster to build and launch, with low code.

Great tool for rapid development and agility

What do you like best about the product?
The pre-built connectors make authenticating and using APIs a snap. It is very easy to make quick changes, test them, and get value immediatly.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any product there are sometimes things I think can be better, but overall it is easy to find workarounds for things if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating with a variety of platforms in a common way.

Automation Made Easy

  • November 07, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-So many connectors, very easy to get connected and setup
-So much flexibility with branching and looping
-No-Code/Low-Code/Lotta-Code all in one place.
-Far more flexible than Zapier while also not being as easily accesible to those outside Operations.
-Mandatory Foldering
-Incredibly helpful Support Community
-Daily/weekly/monthly tasks become one time builds
What do you dislike about the product?
-Things that feel like out of the box stuff isn't there. Delay nodes longer than ten minutes and the like, easily done in Zapier but not here.
-Usage Based Pricing Model (but everyone uses that nowadays)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray solves lead routing/alerting/data manippulation and cleanup process for us with ease.

Enables IT systems to automate without the overhead of code management.

  • August 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray provides the ability to create advanced automation (usually within the ETL sphere, at least for us) without the need for a huge staff to provide upkeep in addition. As opposed to something like cron jobs writing out to an external logging service, Tray takes care of all of this by putting it all into one workspace.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a senior engineer with some dev experience, Tray does some things a bit more "complex" than they need to be. I understand the need occasionally, as it's made for non developers to get their hands dirty - however there's some room for improvement around the ability to do certain tasks. A small example would be APIs payload returns sometimes don't play nice with Tray, where Tray will want to make something "static" or "fixed" yet the live data says otherwise, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Takes workload off of code lifecycle management
- Simplifies deployment processes
- Removes the need for code / package standardization
- Simplifies work ingress and execution through user logs.

Great partner for Risk, Vulnerability, and Incident Management automations

  • July 25, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We primarily utilize Tray.io for our Risk, Vulnerability, and Incident Management automations. The platform offers an array of tools and integrations that enable us to swiftly respond to various situations. While it provides valuable functionalities, there are instances where developing the right solution can be a bit complex. However, we appreciate that the Tray.io team is actively working on improving user-friendliness, and regular updates are helping to address this concern.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations can be less intuitive, demanding a more in-depth understanding of the tools to effectively implement them. Despite this, Tray.io remains a reliable and powerful automation platform for streamlining our processes in Risk, Vulnerability, and Incident Management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray.io helps us with the integration of tools and the automation of repetitive steps that require more attention when scaling or resolving an incident. It's causing a great improvement on the resolution times.

Tray.io review

  • July 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's nice to visualize workflows and quickly test proof of concepts. Easy to connect to various API's.
What do you dislike about the product?
The business model just doesn't seem to make sense. It appears overprices compared to the likes of something like Retool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to solve business problems, from a low code perspective. Quickly build scripts without code.

Not quite as easy as pitched, but easy enough a marketing person can learn it.

What do you like best about the product?
They have continued to build connectors to work with different platforms we use, and their team that interacts with users on Slack is responsive and awesome! We were able to connect PestRoutes, which does not normally integrate with most other platforms, with HubSpot and several other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little more complicated than initially anticipated, but it is still fairly easy to use. Their pricing structure also has changed several times over the past year, which has made it somewhat more difficult to plan for. However, their support team is great to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray helped us bridge PestRoutes to other tools like Hubspot, Google Sheets, Podium and others. We were able to make data go back and forth between the systems.
