Miro is a great way to map my interdisciplinary research projects

  • December 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the open plan, the ability to quickly insert text, image and arrows, and the ability to zoom in and out quickly to different parts of the overall board - the navigation is really intuitive and strong.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't major but sometimes I wish the selecting the arrow functions to ad to the board were more intuitive, I understand how they work but sometimes I want the arrow or the line to look a certain way and it can take up time fine tuning how the arrows link to text and image and making sure they look correct and are in the right format adds a little extra time. Perhaps if you start with a curved arrow it should be that for the next line you draw instead of having to tweak the settings each time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro allows me to house a lot of information from a PhD research project all in the one visual space. It enables me to have both micro access to specific elements of my research quickly but it also enables a macro viewpoint where you can step back and get a clear sense of the overall project quickly.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very robust platform, that allows you to do a lot of different things. And they are always adding new features. Extra good when you consider the user-generated templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can run slow sometimes when you have a lot of differnt things open or docs get too big.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mainly use it for sheduling, as a virtual calendar where I can move stuff around. But the rest of my team uses it for wrireframing and planning. Especially visual design of apps, and websites.

A great collaborative app for almost anything!

What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration is easy to use and fast! It's nice to be able to see where everyone is and it's easy to let people know the structure and plan when using Miro - both for quick ideation sessions or fully structured meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the connection can be a bit flakely. Also the inconsistency in sizing on the same miro board can be quite jarring - i.e. some people use small stickies on one frame, then on a different frame there are enourmous stickies with large font.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I often use Miro to help visually explain techincal (and non-technical) problems. This hugely helps those that are more visual learners. Miro also makes it easy to have a source of truth for technical ideation and project management. The templating also makes it easier to have consistentcy between squads within our organisation.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can zoom in infinitely and add reference images for my upcoming film project. Furthermore, I can share the link with anyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hope it can embed mp4 or avi video materials.Along with pictures, I use a lot of video references as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I gathered references before, I had to have a USB or cloud at all time, but I can use Miro with the mobile app or with an Internet tab.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Useful in collaboration and for visual learners/thinkers

  • December 30, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
The "canvas" stretches infinitely so I can spread out my work and put the visuals that are in my mind down on "paper" to share with colleagues. We've been using it successfully for the sitemap of a new website.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a short learning curve. Text doesn't flow from one box to another so it can be a little clunky depending on what you're trying to use it for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is helping us to collaborate on complicated projects like wireframes for a new website, and tracking progress on that project.

For ideation and collaboration--about as close to 'natural' as you can get

  • December 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In an increasingly remotely connected world, most types of general collaboration--video conference, document share, etc--have matured to equal and even surpass their face-to-face analogues. One space:idea generation, kanban boards, etc just never seems to feel as natural as the physical space-whiteboard, sticky notes, markers. Miro, among its peers, comes about as close (and always improveing) as it gets to the natural feel of brainstorming on a whiteboard . And then, of course, making all of those ideas organized and actionable from a digital starting point is a lot easier than taking a photo, which is typically just lost to the ages . Miro provides a seamless blend of creative freedom and digital organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know that any digital tool will ever quite feel fully natural as the flow of writing and moving ideas around as quickly as they come and change. Miro's approach to this issue seems to be in the variety of templates and tools, but sometimes the interface can feel a bit overwhelming with all of these features, especially for new users. It might take a bit of time and learning curve to navigate the various tools and templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In general, Miro solves the challenge of capturing the flurry of ideas and connections that might come from a whiteboard brainstorming sessions without losing momentum. Instead of writinng "do not erase" or snapping a few pictures on the phone and forgetting about sticky notes, we can keep refining and organizing ideas over time from their native digital space. Development, iteration, and continuation are far more likely when using Miro. It has that increasingly natural feel, and we get the convenience and trackability that only a digital tool can provide. That means ideas flow more smoothly in the real-time while also remaining available for some actionable future or revisitation.

Collab means Miro

  • December 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is as easy to use as good and old flip chart. Thus it had almost zero entry level and tech skills needed. But at the same time it does provide all basic and additional functionality. Tinmers, voting, apps integration and AI up there to help you if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is not that obvious regarding sharing inside the org as there are different groups and teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Be on the same page
