Miro is a very useful tool, especially if you are part of an Experience Design team.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro almost everyday. It helps me for several things, I use it to manage the team with the "Kan-ban" templates and the sprint retrospectives. It is also useful for analyzing information downloaded after a study with users and also for ideation workshops with our internal customers. I quite like that it gives me templates ready for some ideation workshops, if I don't know what to choose I can enter the templates of the community and choose the most suitable one. In addition, its use is quite simple for other members of the organization with a lower level of digitalization, in these workshops with the internal client, I see that users are easily integrated into the dynamics and know how to use the basic or necessary functionalities for the workshop that is being carried out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have used the Android application and it is terrible, I tried it on a Lenovo Yoga and the application worked very slow and always asked for internet connection. If I used it with mobile data and for some reason I lost the signal, I could no longer see anything I was checking, I could never integrate it into my use for field research, I can only use Miro in the office. With its version for browsers it is similar, the internet update has often made me have to reload the page, even if my only action has been to update part of a board or I am writing on a card and due to the constant updating of the platform, I lose the text I was writing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves two main pains. Include more agile practices in the team, without the need to depend on a new platform and increase our operational expense. And create boards for collaboration with other areas of the company, with Miro I can have ideation sessions and leave aside the CJM or BMC so that it remains as a living document and others can constantly update it without learning to use a new platform.

a space for team members to collaborate real time

Best in class UX, but hard to organize

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UX is fantastic, it's easy to get going and all users can jump in and be effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not support as advanced diagrams as other products, and having just projects instead of folders/tagging as other ways to organize is very limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bringing ideas together outside of just text, giving us spatial and relationships to visualize ideas.

Miro makes creating a project easier

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everything can be documented on a Miró board. Working in product development it helps everyone to see the ideation process. Several templates are available that make documenting the product easier (ie: customer road map, mind map, idea napkin, priorization templates).
Several people can work at once, remote meetings are certainly powered up by Miró. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it's not easily integrated with other applications (ie: office)
You can get lost in a big or complex board. When someone external to the project sees it, it's complex for them to follow the board. Even if you created it, and see it some months later, it can be complex to follow, if it isn't correctly documented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote work gets easier with everyone working on the same board. And remote meetings are better when everyone can follow the board and collaborate in it.
The availability of the different graphiking tools is impressive, and helps diagram whatever scenario you are working on.

This is the best design tool I've used for solution architecture related diagrams.

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It enables me to pretty much do everything I want.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating sequence diagrams can be a challenge to get all the lines aligned correctly. Need more ways to automate with AI repetitive tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of working collaboritively and organize the resulting boards.

Great product to brainstorm and organize thoughts to align on our product deliverables

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and manipulate on the fly. The ability to collaborate and quickly craft new frames to organize thoughts makes it easy to review our brainstorming sessions and use Miro as a jumping off point for our software delivery lifecycle. The integration to Jira is an excellent way for us to transition from our brainstorming and organization into functional work items.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the tables cumbersome to use. Often I have some light sample content that would benefit from being uploaded into a table (LucidChart feature). Doing this by hand is time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to collaborate across multiple user is the primary value we get out of Miro. The digital whiteboard and ability to quickly sequence bodies of work helps us to visually get everyone on the same page before we start in on our work items.

Great enviroment for brainstorming and creative collaboration

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Straightforward, easy to use, multiple templates, no lagging, real-time collaboration with multiple team memebers. I currently use it on all my projects to brainstorm and review with the team. It is quite easy to learn and integrate into the team workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specific. I would just like some new features added in e.g. archiving a frame (e.g. where it becomes less visible, view only and maybe with a banner that says superseded). I would also like the frame to have more details e.g. time of creation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of note-taking during meetings as it brings my slides to life. I can easily edit, add comments and move across various elements and templates. I don't need to open multiple files or scroll through an infinite number of slides to recall all previous discussions as I can keep track of all the conversations in one space.

Miro is a efficient way to stay on the same page with the team

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, multiplatform, possibility to use the Apple Pencil with my iPad Pro
What do you dislike about the product?
The licence system, too much complicated for us and sometimes the whole system become unresponsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a full remote company and Miro helps us collaborate asyncronously but also during online meetings. Without it, it would be very difficult and uncomfortable to keep all the team updated.

Miro is a one stop platform for all my brainstorming activities

  • June 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a design thinker and architect, Miro allows me to express my thoughts and creativity digitally and collaboratively, that before this software was only possible through discussions around a whiteboard. The genius of the software is the simple elements it uses and allows me to personalise to detail my thoughts autonomously and freely. The amount of customisations and interactivity allow me to use different models and frameworks used in the design thinking process, and communicate it with non-design stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
The onboarding process can me smoother, and more detailed, like it is in Notion Academy. Also, Miro should incorporate lessons on frameworks and methodologies used in business development, analytics, design, marketing etc. so that users are made aware of the full extent of creative and collaborative brainstorming possible on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me and my team to brainstorm digitally, thus, it is enabling strategic thinking in a digital or hybrid workspace format which wasn't possible before.

A powerful collaboration tool, that should continue evolving to gain depth

  • June 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive - You open it, and understand how it works immediately. Great for internal and external collaboration.

Templates - Many models to choose from.

Connectivity - Connection to JIRA, Confluence and other tools is great!
What do you dislike about the product?
Optimization - When boards become heavy with images and such, it starts to run slowly. Fine if you have a powerful PC, but that's not the case for everyone.

Depth - I would like to be able to embed & run Excel / Google sheets natively in Miro. Also create graphs for reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a project manager in video games. I use Miro for a wide array of use cases.
- GAME DESIGN : With my team we brainstorm and elicit Game Design specifications, in a open and collaborative manner.
- DEV : Miro allows us to draft and store technical information and wireframes.
- MARKETING : Miro allows us to draft and store our go-to-market roadmap (and its iterations) openly, as well as our Marketing key assets. We then have a easy-to-read bird's eye view for leadership.
