An essential tool

What do you like best about the product?
It's a flexible space for collaboration, and it's relatively easy to bring new users into it. I use it primarily for facilitating strategic planning workshops, preliminary mapping, and collaborative visioning. It's easy to communicate through the platform—we frequently tag each other for review and comment. Overall, it's a really good balance of a professional tool and an accessible tool. I feel like I can use it with any client. Most of them start using it on their own after we introduce it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scaling—it seems to vary from board to board, and there isn't an obvious way to figure out the best size for the tools and processes you're using.

I dislike the icons that are assigned to the boards when you are in your team space, they are confusing and I don't want to take the time to reassign all of the boards new icons (we have 100's of boards)

I would like you to bring back more sticky colors - there was a moment when there were more choices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote collaboration. It allows us to work asynchronously and also to come together and think as if we're in a room together.

What do you dislike about the product?

Great for ideation and collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
I really like Miro's flexibility in accommodating an endless number of items on one whiteboard. I also like the templates they provide and how different components interact with each other and the color schemes. It is easy to discuss research, ideas, and solutions quickly with the team.

It is fast and intuitive and the learning curve is not steep. Once you start dabbling into it, you figure it out quite quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have better integration with ClickUp. It seems that I have to keep re-integrating it from time to time. Also, it creates a component with CU ticket details but does not update the ticket's status in Miro. This is important for us as we have a high-level roadmap on Miro that is consumed by company leadership.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with my team and managers to collaborate on various opportunities and problem space for our product and Miro helps me keep the research in one single place. The flexible whiteboarding with various features help me put my point or any one else's point creatively without creating confusion. I can also restrict views and sections in Miro which helps me keep my audience and collaborators organized to one focussed goal or outcome for the discussion or research I am conducting. It is easy to organize content which helps in presenting the final research conclusions as well.

I love Miro's intuitive interface and real-time collaboration features, which make brainstorming sessions seamless and engaging.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro's complex pricing structure can be confusing, and some advanced features might be overwhelming for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro solves the problem of disconnected team collaboration by offering a versatile, interactive whiteboard platform that centralizes brainstorming, planning, and project management. This integration streamlines workflows, enhances team communication, and boosts productivity by allowing real-time updates and visual organization, making remote and hybrid work more effective and cohesive

Incredible tool, for both individual and collaborative work

  • September 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's straightforward to understand and provides all the needed tools to work collaboratively. I love using it for all stages of my work, when starting a task to map different flows and timelines, to have discussions and work sessions with colleagues and partners, to moderate workshops, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I would change would be allowing a little more personalization regarding some of the available tools. But this would be a minor "nice to have" thing because currently, Miro works perfectly well for what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me it mostly answers two needs: it's a virtual whiteboard (that I need both for organizing my work and to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners), and is a powerful workshop moderation tool (part of my work is moderating workshops, and this tool has proved to be crucial in that task, even when preparing in-person events).

My recent affiliation to Miro

What do you like best about the product?
I've been really enjoying using Miro lately, especially because of its intuitive usability and design. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and quickly set up collaborative spaces. The visual design is clean, which enhances the overall user experience and helps in organizing thoughts and ideas effectively.

The real-time collaboration feature is a standout—working with teams on projects feels seamless, as everyone can contribute and engage in brainstorming, planning, and design at the same time. It fosters creativity and teamwork, even when working remotely.

Moreover, the constant improvements and updates Miro rolls out show a commitment to user feedback, making the platform even more efficient and enjoyable to use over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Enhanced Offline Access
It would be great if Miro offered more robust offline functionality, allowing users to create and edit boards without an internet connection. This would improve productivity when working in areas with limited or unstable internet access, with automatic syncing once back online.

More Advanced Export Options
While Miro offers some export features, it would be helpful to have more advanced options for exporting boards, especially for high-resolution images or customizable formats like editable PDFs. This would make it easier to share polished final versions of boards with clients or colleagues who don’t use Miro.

Improved Version Control and History
An enhanced version control system would be beneficial, allowing users to track changes more precisely and revert to specific versions of a board easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro solves the problem of fragmented collaboration by providing a seamless, visual workspace where teams can brainstorm, plan, and work together in real-time, which enhances productivity and creativity for me and my team.

Unmatched

What do you like best about the product?
The range of options (from hand drawing with custom sampled colours to elaborate tables) is like nothing I have ever seen, pair that with its collaborative capabilities and Im in HEAVEN! I have shared a single board with the maximum allowed number of people and the functionality doesn't dip in the slightlest.
I use Miro every single work day and I will not even be looking for an alternative because there is no need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most things that have bothered me in the past are easily adjustable and fixed, for example: when many people are busy on a single board and all the cursors are flying around it drove me crazy, until I found the option where I can hide them and focus on what Im doing better.
When falling in with existing groups the navigation can get confusing but once I created my own account, which is also a bit of a process but it wasn't too lengthy, things have been simpler.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work collaboratively alongside other creatives and when working remotely, sending files back and forth with every update just creates chaos and confusion. With Miro we can easily exchange work and opinions, as well as being able to write and adjust things in the program, trying to write down what you mean in terms of creative work can sometimes just get things lost and cause frustration. I also mainly use the application on my laptop but when Im out of the office and I get an update email I can easily see the board from my phone and all these things make the work process of a project much faster and enjoyable.
