Great collaboration tool to bridge the gap between in person and remote work

  • September 11, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
The possibilities are limitless. It is so much like having a whiteboard next to me, but so much easier to share and collaborate with others. In the implementation of Miro, my team did not have a single complaint. It was super easy to use and share across my entire team. I use a board on miro at least once a day, for anything from brainstorming, process mapping, sharing out meeting notes, using their talk track feature to walk through mockups, and so much more. Every time I've needed customer support (which is rare because the tool is so intuitive), the miro team has always been easy to get a hold of and help me resolve my queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integrations are still a bit clunky (or at least the ones I use). I use the Teams integration and it's hard to pin because of the login to miro issue (you ahve to log in through Teams very regularly, so the integration isn't really a click away, more like 10 clicks away.. and at that point, it's just as easy to go login to miro on a web browser. I've also used the smartsheet integration but the view of the smartsheet rows isn't very flexible (always a plain white box) and it's hard to edit when you have multiple rows/columns you want to be looking at and syncing up on right away.
Last but not least is the fact that I have to sign in SO much. Every time I close my browser, I have to sign back into Miro, even if I was away for just a few seconds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is helping me get easy, real-time collaborative input into processes that my team uses. This week, my team is heavy into roadmap planning, and we have several different whiteboards we're using on Miro to plan out the large multi-year roadmap while also diving into specific initiatives and planning, explaining requuirements, and doing some general brainstorming. Miro is our go-to tool throughout.

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple users can interact in real time. We use it everyday - often returning over and over. The tools and stickers are really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the boards become unwieldly and slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A large team can contribute lots of visual references to a board and then sort through them collaboratively. We can then track he progress of an asset by stacking each itteration on a grid.

Versatile and user-friendly tool for collaboration and brainstorming

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an incredibly versatile and user-friendly tool for collaboration and brainstorming. Its intuitive interface makes it easy to create dynamic visuals, whether you're mapping out strategies, designing workflows, or running interactive workshops. The variety of templates and tools available simplifies complex processes and promotes real-time teamwork, no matter where your team is located. One of the best features is its integration with other apps, which streamlines the workflow and boosts productivity. I also appreciate how easy it is to onboard new users, as the platform is very intuitive. Overall, Miro has significantly improved our team's ability to collaborate efficiently and creatively.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to convert documents into useable formats in the tool is very limited. It would be great if Miro could consume .doc and .ppt files and create editable text from them in Miro for more ease in transferring content back and forth.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets us create collaborative working sessions without traveling to our client.

Great for collaboration and communicating complex project to the wider team

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a fantastic tool for real-time collaboration, allowing my teams to brainstorm, and share. The ability to see updates instantly and contribute simultaneously makes working from home possible and for that I am grateful! With features like sticky notes, diagrams, and voting tools I can make people feel like their input is included.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Miro was better optimized for quickly creating low-fidelity wireframes. It has some cool features but with Iliketemplates and shapes, the interface can feel a bit clunky for wireframing, especially when compared to dedicated UX tools. I know it may not necessarily be used for that but I'd find it very useful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most recently, it helped me get everyone on the same page when it comes to mapping out service buelprints. Its a big task to create and take a lot of different teams to get involved.

I'm a Knowledge Manager who loves using Miro extensively to plan, brainstorm and collaborate

  • September 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has become one of my go-to tools for managing my architecture firm's knowledge strategy program. Its flexibility is a big plus—whether we’re brainstorming ideas or organizing complex knowledge systems, it adapts to whatever we need. The real-time collaboration makes working with remote teams much easier. We can all jump on a board together and make updates live, which speeds up decision-making and keeps things clear.

The templates are also a time-saver. They give us a solid starting point for everything from project plans to journey maps, and they’re super easy to customize. I also really appreciate how simple the user interface is. It’s clean, intuitive, and helps get everyone up to speed quickly.

Miro’s AI features have been a recent game-changer. Tools like auto-organizing ideas and highlighting important patterns save time and help us keep things running smoothly. Overall, Miro’s ease of use, flexibility, and new AI tools make it a must-have for any team of knowledge workers.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Miro is great in a lot of ways, there are definitely some drawbacks from a knowledge management perspective. One of the big challenges is that the knowledge we capture in Miro tends to be unstructured and not easily integrated into our firm’s SharePoint-based intranet. That means information shared or created in Miro can be hard to find later, which goes against our goal of having everything accessible in one central place.

Another issue is that some users find Miro boards can get messy. As we move from rough drafts to more polished outputs, it can be difficult to follow the flow of information. It’s not always easy to see how ideas evolve or pinpoint the final product without a lot of clutter on the board.

From a KM perspective, Miro can sometimes lead to knowledge silos. People love using it for collaboration, but that also means they sometimes bypass our more structured, discoverable platforms in favor of Miro. This creates isolated pockets of knowledge that aren’t easily accessible across the firm, which can be a problem when we’re trying to foster a more open and integrated knowledge-sharing culture.

Overall, while Miro is powerful for collaboration, the lack of structure and integration with our existing systems can create some real headaches for knowledge management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro has become essential for solving one of our biggest challenges: asynchronous and synchronous visual collaboration with hybrid teams spread across the globe. We use it constantly for guiding meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions where people can contribute in real-time or at their own pace. Honestly, we don’t have any other tool that offers this level of collaboration, so it fills a critical gap for us.

It’s also become our go-to tool for road mapping. Whether we're planning long-term strategies or tracking the progress of key projects, Miro is the best solution we have for visually laying out the roadmap. Its flexibility and ability to incorporate different types of content make it invaluable for keeping everyone aligned, no matter where they’re located. The benefits are clear: more productive meetings, smoother collaboration across time zones, and clearer planning for future initiatives.

What do you like best about the product?
THe ease of creating visuals to bring to my presentations and for the tons of templates
What do you dislike about the product?
it can be a little tedious at times making visuals even with their templates... The new AI features make it better but you still have to do lots of customizations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Really its the ability to customize and visualize concepts and ideas for the team. Its really tough in Google Powerpoint to build visuals of concepts but for Miro its easy

The do-it-all notebook for any and everything you want to capture, organize, or present!

What do you like best about the product?
The never-ending space is my favorite feature of Miro which makes it so easy to organize, even after you've started. So many tools! I don't think there's anything this program can't do - which makes it a good fit for about every project. The collaboration ability makes teamwork easier, and projects smoother and more complete all in less time. Great job Miro!
What do you dislike about the product?
The drawing capabilities could be a little more robust, and wish business licenses came with personal licenses as well! The free version doens't give enough boards, but would love to use it outside of work as well!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps solve the problems that arise when working with remote teams, especially the whiteboards which are not able to be seen even if you do have the person on an on-screen call.
Miro helps solve the ends of paper problem - unlimited margins!
Miro helps solve the problem of portability - using both on computer at work and ipad when working off-location!

Miro is a gamechanger for remote team collaboration!!!

What do you like best about the product?
Our team of architects and clients is located all over the world. Miro allows us to collaborate and contribute like we are all sitting around one table or in front of one whiteboard. It has revolutionized how we collaborate as a team, how I review my staff's work, and how I present our designs to our clients. We love Miro!
What do you dislike about the product?
As our Miro boards get bigger, we sometimes run into glitches/lagging which can be really frustrating. We try our best to keep board content as trim as possible, but I wish the threshold was higher.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team of architects and clients is located all over the world (which before Miro, posed significant barriers to collaboration). Miro allows us to collaborate and contribute like we are all sitting around one table or in front of one whiteboard. It has revolutionized how we collaborate as a team, how I review my staff's work, and how I present our designs to our clients. We love Miro!

best collaboration tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Miro enables collaboration, planning and documentation like no other tool. It's great for workshops, stucture, anlysis and planning. It's easy to invite others to join boards, and takes no time to get going with the tool because of how easy and intuitve it is to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not so intuitive to use pictures in miro, i wish there was an option text from pdf (a better integration of acrobat formats)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro allows real time collaboration, making it SO easy for many people to contribute and be included at the same time. The integrations of different apps and now also AI features make possible for a lot of work to be happening directly in Miro.
