Collaboration and Productivity Improvements

  • January 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- its simple to use so people who have not used it previously can quickly learn to use simple capabilities and be part of the collaboration actvities (retro's, planning etc)

- access to some great templates to help with a wide range of business related actvities (retro's, planning, problem solving)

- the ability to increase and decrease the size of the detail on a screen, so you can quickly move around large amounts of data and zoom into what you want to look at

- the almost limited amount of space on a single "page"
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any issues with Miro's capability or functionality
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in an environment which is geographically dispersed so having a "virtual whiteboard" is extremely important to be able to collaborate.

I' m responsible for a wide range of actvities, including Planning, Retrospectives, Capturing work status, Presentations etc and Miro is the best all round tool to support these activites.

There are a myriad of tools in the market and getting access to them, ensuring the team have access and its simple to use for even beginners, is critical and Miro "ticks" all these boxes

Insights on Miro: A User Experience Survey

  • January 10, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Miro's intuitive interface and the ease with which it allows for real-time collaboration. The ability to simultaneously work with team members on a shared canvas, regardless of our physical locations, is incredibly valuable. Additionally, the vast array of templates saves a lot of time, especially for brainstorming and project planning sessions.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect that can be frustrating is the learning curve for new users, particularly those not familiar with digital whiteboard tools. While Miro is feature-rich, it can initially be overwhelming. Also, in situations with poor internet connectivity, the platform can become sluggish, which hampers the real-time collaboration experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When focusing on how Miro benefits developers specifically:
Facilitates Agile and Scrum Processes: Miro supports agile methodologies, making it ideal for sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups, which are crucial for software development workflows.
Improves Technical Brainstorming: It's a powerful tool for visualizing complex software architectures, user flow diagrams, and database schemas, enhancing clarity and team understanding.
Enhances Remote Development Collaboration: Miro offers a shared space where remote development teams can collaborate in real-time, discussing code, design, and project progress visually.
Streamlines Project Management: The platform aids in organizing and tracking development tasks, milestones, and dependencies, crucial for keeping software projects on track.
Integrates with Development Tools: Miro integrates with popular developer tools like Jira and GitHub, ensuring seamless workflow integration and enhancing productivity.
In summary, Miro is particularly beneficial for developers by supporting agile development processes, facilitating complex technical discussions, enhancing remote collaboration, streamlining project management, and integrating seamlessly with other development tools.

Miro has revolutionised how I work

  • January 10, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a fantastic virtual whiteboarding tool. In addition to this, it has become my go to tool for building presentations, capturing data, building process maps and many other day to day tasks that previosuly would have been spread across many different tools. I use it multiple times a day.

It is packed with features for those of us who often facilitate virtual workshops and meetings, and new users tend to pick it up easily due to its intuitive nature. The Miro team also produce really helpful learning material and its easy to contact them for support with any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features that I would like to see improved - mainly how you organise boards and grant acess to certain teams or projects etc. I would also love to see it more closly integrated with the micrsoft suite of tools in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves the need for us to travel internationally to hold team offsites and workshops. We can do these just as well virtually using Miro now. It also allows us to update aertefacts and share feedback a-sync, cutting down on the amount of meetings we had to have at less than ideal times across a globally distributed team.

- It's fairly user friendly once you know your way around it. Moving elements is simple.
- There are SO many templates available, it's so quick to spin up a new creative workshop using one of the many templates available in the Miroverse
What do you dislike about the product?
- Sometimes it can be difficult to find what you're looking for.
- Formatting text can sometimes be a bit tricky
All in all, dislikes pale in comparison to what the tool offers

Best collaboration tool for the new hybrid-working norm

  • January 10, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is so intuitive to use and even if I am collaborating with colleagues who have never used it before, it is super easy to integrate into BAU. Being able to have guests on boards, control access and rights and having team and project areas is invaluable. It has everything you need in terms of tools from post-it notes to value stream mapping diagram shapes. I utilise the templates every day and love how it allows me to test ideas, and visualise and communicate concepts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features do hinder productivity and can be frustrating - such as the tables. Some functionality does not appear in the app as it does in browser.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to map and diagram - not just remotely but also easily and collaboratively.

Miro is an efficient co-working tool for various team setups

  • January 10, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can see all the changes live without someone having to publish a version or something. In a meeting no one has to share a screen to present since people can just follow the presentor in their own computer. It works efficiently in both, large workdhops and smaller meetings as just a meeting notes tool. It is easy to get started with it and share/onboard to new users as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The boards can get pretty massive which obviously makes them less usable. It is easy to add content and for that reason it is also easy to outdate the old content on the board sofrom that perspective it needs someone to be maintaining and being on top of things. The (mac) application gets updates quite often and has to be restarted. If the organisation uses Miro broadly, it is sometimes hard to remember which board had the certain info and the searching from 'all the b oards ever created ' can be challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have people in multiple countries in my time and we rarely get to sit in one room. Miro helps in bringing people together in meetings and gives an extra layer of depth to the discussions since it provides vidual aids that someone has already prepared. It is also a lot more fun than having a text document or something as meeting notes. In Miro it is also easy to build "stages" for the discussion in seconds like "hey wait a minute, this looks like a bug that has to be solved by another team. I'll create a box where we can land such blockers and we'll tag the needed persons here as well".
