Excellent for collaboration, and business visibility

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro boasts a lot of great functionality that helps us host our collaborative UX workshops, with clients or internally. It's easy to get the non-tech-savvy users started with following you around the board, interacting with tasks, and contributing.

One of the major benefits for me as a workshop facilitator, is the Miro user community and Miroverse resource. It's really useful for learning about new techniques, activities, and board layouts from other users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features such as tables and text boxes can be clunky to format. There are also some issues around long-term sharing with clients, and I've not found a way to transfer ownership of boards to clients (especially if they don't have a premium Miro account). Still, these can be overcome with work-arounds such as exporting to image/pdf and hosting elsewhere. But on the whole, it's a great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The big problem that Miro helps us solve is bringing stakeholders from different teams together to work on projects, create shared visions, and co-create to solve their problems.
It works with big or small teams collaborate across the product development board, from discovery, to user/customer research, page flows, basic wireframing, and also for presenting findings.

A perfect tool for collaborative teamwork

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an endless board beneficial for meetings and keeping track of the work that everyone is doing on a specific project. It's easy to set up projects and use professional templates to improve its framework. There is a lot of more interaction and more valuable contributions when using its boards. Miro offers many different tools that boost our creativity in one single app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the use of the mouse on the board can provoke some small mistakes when selecting or trying to move some elements. UX can be improved, but I'm sure that it's also important to get used to the tool to take advantage of all the possibilities it offers for teamwork. That will take us some time but I'm sure the reward will be worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We keep more focused on working on our projects with Miro boards. For us, using templates from the app or Miroverse is an excellent upgrade to our former way of approaching our processes of work. Miro helps our team to better understand what we do and how to improve it, showing all the information in a very visual way. What you see is what you get... and you see a full bunch of tools ready to use to make a difference with your work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your try it, your team will simply love it. It will be a great tool to improve its performance and adopt strategies that make a difference. Miro has everything to become an essential platform for your team and boost the creativity and effectiveness of your employees work. Try its templates to better understand the possibilities of its endless boards. Your achievement of objectives will surely increase.

Excellent collaborative tool for team in remote locations

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use, easy to help others understand how to use, good interface
What do you dislike about the product?
It has improvement opportunities in its videoconference tool, in the text tool (consistently too hard to adjust the size), and in being able to do a presentation and then go to the collaboration part. Sometimes is a little slow if the internet is not the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the problem of teams in different locations that need to collaborate. It is excellent to facilitate workshops with clients.

Collaboration nailed on - but great as your own workbook too

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is great to use as a collaboration tool - particularly with remote teams. However, I particularly like to use it as my own workbook - helping me explore ideas, validate thinking and work through things. The templates are so helpful for this - giving structure and an easy introduction to new business tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The account management and working out what is private, what is shared, what board is on your account, or someone else's is not intuitive. There are guest passes, members, viewers, contributors. I've run into several problems around account management at two different organisations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. My own idea generation, gathering information like a scrapbook and then developing it with the tools and templates.
2. Sharing ideas, and conducting remote workshops with others - and using the templates to help with this
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it - and spend time exploring the templates and 'miroverse'. Make sure you spend a little time learning how they deal with user roles and visibility.

"Even better than on-site collaboration", said the client.

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro gives all my meetings structure. Miro allows for real-time collaboration that is better than any on-site whiteboard experience. It's easy for newcomers and powerful for power users. Whether it's for workshops or to take meeting notes, my clients unanimously said they wanted to keep miro after the pandemic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro isn't the only tool available. Mural and Concept Board offer similar experiences. Miro probably has the most polished interface, but they are pretty much interchangeable. For a non-tech-savvy crowd without digital whiteboard experience, I'd probably opt for Google's Jamboards instead because it is less cluttered with functionality and allows for a more structured presentation. Additionally, rights management and EU-GDPR are not straightforward with Miro. Expect some effort if you introduce the tool to a big corporate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since remote work has become the new normal, I use Miro for every meeting. Once things are written down, people can refer to it much more easily, and you can display the structure of thoughts as it emerges during the discussion.

You can mirror physical workshop spaces easily but also go beyond. It allows to show overarching context and introduces new ways of collaborating.

It's also an excellent tool to digitize the Obeya Room due to its flexibility and abundance of features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free tier. It is generally enough for the first couple of weeks. If you work in learning iterations, make it an experiement!

Quick, intuitive and creative collaboration tool

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most helpful for me is the possibility to visualize processes quickly. I can add specific colors, which fit our corporate identity. There are dozens of templates to use.
I can easily share the content and work with my colleagues on the boards, even if they are "just" guests.
I really like that the frames can be extended to any size, so it's great to fit also complex processes on the board. Having the board unlimited is a real bonus, as many frames as you like can be added and shifted around. With the presentation mode you can adapt the order of the frames during the presentation, still they stay the same order on the board, which I think is very helpful for presenting to different clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Exporting content seems a bit tricky sometimes as it goes wrong or doesn't save. Unfortunately, you cannot export to PowerPoint which makes it complicated as I work with both of them and sometimes I need to re-do a layout as not everyone uses miro.
The zooming is a bit ennerving as it's sometimes to close or to far away or moves around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very adaptive, and there are a lot of quick tutorials. There are a lot of helpful integrations. For it's great to show processes and work together on the improvement.
The biggest problem I could solve was the limited space I had with other tools, that was a great improvement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an easy collaboration tool to visualize processes and work together with your team without a big intro, I can recommend miro!

Brilliant for collaborative work

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to instantly collaborate on a document at the same time as others being in different places.
The articles with updates of new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took a while to be able to access Miro on my work computer (not Miro's fault) due to my work security and I had to use my own computer, making it unnecessarily complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anything and everything, from project management; to journey mapping; to feedback log and Lean UX canvas.
Using the stickers and coming back to it later allows to think more about it and link the idea

I used Miro since it was named Realtime Board, happy with it since then.

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When I found about the tool years ago, for me, the most crucial part was to bring and store digitally all workshops that I was conducting in a physical environment, so all those stickies that were placed all over the wall could be revisited in the future so it wasn't a matter of a fun day exploring or an ideation session, but I could use them to share the knowledge and decisions taken that day and revisit whenever was needed.

Nowadays, for me, the best is the collaborative way of working in Miro and also the fact that you can align with multiple stakeholders over the same board without being in the same room.
What do you dislike about the product?
The different projects are stored because, by default, they all go to the dashboard in an immense list. I know now you can create projects but still...

I would improve the way of importing screenshots from Figma to Miro. Sometimes annotations get mixed between the actual "Comments' functionality, and some other participants make comments directly on a sticky, which makes the communication to be held in different channels within the same tool and also normally, the comments on stickies usually are more taken into account, and the ones under the comments functionality go unnoticed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote workshops, aligned with Developers and product teams. It helps us (UX designers) to be involved during the decision making and ideation together with the rest of the stakeholders and we sometimes create wireframes quickly at the moment of ideation so stakeholders can have more visual ideas
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Long time user, and it has done nothing but improve
