A great tool for both Retrospectives and Collaboration with colleagues

  • August 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was tasked with finding a good tool to use for cross-functional team retrospectives for our Organization. My colleagues recommended Miro to me, as they had already been using the freeware version of the tool, and were finding it easy and enjoyable to use.

I like that it can be used not only for our Retrospectives initiatives, but also for collaborative whiteboarding and brainstorming. My colleagues have been able to find many uses for Miro boards since we purchased our team licenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of our developers have commented that they do not enjoy the whiteboard/notes for retrospectives, as they find it can be cluttered and/or confusing. They prefer to use other tools for their own team retrospectives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are rolling out an initiative to use Miro boards for our internal issue Retrospectives, both small scale and large scale. The benefit so far has been improved collaboration amongst cross-functional teams participating in the retrospectives.

Best tool for visualizing and capturing ideas

  • August 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Miro, we were seamlessly able to create and visualize an entire map of our customer journey to deliver our customer support better. Apart from this, it also has the feature to share and collaborate on ideas and maps with colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it has a drag and drops feature, it is pretty complex in navigating and identifying the correct usage of each of its components as they are vast in numbers. Also, building any designs from scratch needs more creativity and time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The overall experience with Miro has been pretty impressive. Using it, we were able to brainstorm seamlessly, ideate, and draft better customer journeys from customer onboarding to retention through stepwise planning and visualization of customer support channels, processes, and strategies.

Now, we can finally plot our thoughts into visual maps

  • July 31, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how conveniently we can quickly brainstorm on my ideas and create visually appealing mind maps that can be either downloaded or shared with anyone online through a shareable link. Other than this, it is also quite valuable for drafting a Business model canvas, SWOT analysis, Project management, and implementation timeline by merely selecting from its pre-designed templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though Miro is a feature-rich program, the optimum usability of the software is a little complicated, and the user might get into several confusions and even get lost from time to time while trying to use it correctly. Additionally, the mobile version of this application is almost useless as it requires a big screen size for designing and creating things efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The overall experience has been excellent with Miro as they even have a startup support program through which we could receive the credits of two thousand dollars. We can quickly draft our business model canvas, SWOT analysis, project timeline and create various mind maps that are easily shareable with anyone through a link.

Useful tool for team collaboration trough shared whiteboards

  • July 30, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
We are able to share screenshots of our work to provide a visual perspective of the team's achievements. With miro, our animation team can provide helpful information of our process to team leaders, and track every step of the process. In my particular case, we make downloadable "smart templates" of motion graphics videos. Our process includes conceptualization, scripting, animation, and UX design. Therefore, Miro helps us prove that we follow the guidelines during our daily taks and show our managers we are feeding the cocorrect information to the servers that host the template platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use texts a lot. Usually, our team leads write something and we have to modify this text or add more information. The problem is that TEXTS are sometimes hard to modify onece they were written. Let me give you an example. If my leader Writes "HELLO", the text box will remain that size. If I try to expand the textbox, it will increase or shrink the size of the text but not the space to write. So, if I want to add more words right next to the "HELLO" (whose circular handles are just in the perimeter of the text), the new words will apear under the original text because the textbox already has a horizontal constraint. Do I explain my self? In n other words, its hard to keep writing on the same line because it automatically creates another line. So, I have to create another text with bigger constraints. Heres a video I made thats shows the problem: https://recordit.co/hstfzHYbXf
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team leaders can see our entire process through our screenshots, instead of manually opening and exploring every photoshop project, after effects file, code scripts, website admin changes and checklist reviews. Also, we can provide the screenshots that prove we backed up all the files into the server after we finish our tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are not familiar with design software like Illustrator and Photoshop, you may want to see and read all the tutorials before starting so you can save time with shortcuts and tools. If you already have experience with Illustrator and Photoshop, you will be fine. It's very intuitive for Adobe users.

Powerful, easy to use whiteboarding app

  • July 29, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My team and I love the real time collaboration. Even though we are all of ther world, we all get together on Miro to work out ideas; it's pretty great considering the pandemic. We also and the integrations. Being able to use Miro within our comms apps is incredibly helpful. We can add Miro to our Webex space and keep it open to add or refine ideas when inspiration sparks. The plug-in integrations are great, too. Icon packs and templates really make projects move quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro cannot be used offline; I'd love to be able to work during my flight or with a sketchy internet connection. The only other things are maybe feature overload. Miro may have features that could help my team but I wouldn't know since I don't really have time to explore the app or watch videos. I've heard of things like tagging, voting, user notifications, and even directory search, but I've never seen official Miro comms about them or seen them in the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team uses Miro to diagram processes such as user journeys. Once we all get working, we can quickly identify silos and open them, risks and vulnerabilities, and redundancies.
At them moment, we are using Miro to diagram all of our user journeys through the digital lifecycle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the Miro integrations to make online meetings better and more engaging; even simple fun sketch events can make difficult sessions more fun and productive.

Miro is user friendly and encourages collaboration.

  • July 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the templates and use them a lot. It makes my life so easy, and I don't need to think about how I should start with e.g. brainstorming or customer journey mapping exercise. Another thing I like about Miro is it is user-friendly and took me an hour to learn and start using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I start Miro and see the project list, that is confusing to me. I don't want to see all those projects, which means nothing to me. I like the card view of All Boards I created, but it would be great to see the actual snippet of what it contains instead of a generic grey icon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to bring my team together to think on a particular use case of customer journey exercise. It is easy to share with people, and I can see how they add things to it. I work remotely, so this tool helps me quickly gather thoughts from the team as I can't do whiteboarding. Miro is a good starting point for any project and makes people comfortable quickly to start collaborating. I work with engineers, and they are reluctant to draw or write something on the board. With Miro, I have seen people are comfortable to begin drawing and writing. This tool encourages collaboration.

So many great ways to map ...

  • July 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple it is to quickly build a complex mind-map, user journey, wireframe and so much more. I love how easy it is to share a board, the simplicity of the interface, and the vast quantity of excellent templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
One tiny thing - when exporting the preview frame doesn't default to the particular map I've highlighted. This doesn't affect use in any way, it's just a minor minor irritation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex mapping of user & donor journeys, sequences etc. Miro has enabled me to rapidly map crazy processes and come to simple conclusions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everything about using Miro (including interactions with their support team) has been easy and enjoyable. The product is intuitive to use and meets my needs very well.

Robust, Essential, and High Functioning platform, especially for visual people

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how the options are easy to navigate. Every template has an explanation of what and why you would use it, so new users won't be overwhelmed. I love the features and functions; they are extremely versatile and flexible. I'm a visual learner so it's ideal for someone like me. It keeps me organized. I don't have an agenda at work, I use Miro for that. Excellent for team planning and organizing. I really like how they teach you how to use the platform through their university. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg, which is always a plus. It saves everything automatically, I NEVER have to worry about losing data. Great for brainstorming all the way to the execution stage.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not the easiest for non-technical people, if people aren't used to such a platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving organizational and admin issues, team efficiency, and my mental health; if I'm not organized it drives me crazy and stresses me out. If realized I needed Miro years ago.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's free to make an account. Try it out and see if it fits your line of work, it's definitely going to meet your expectations regardless.

Incredible collaborative tool for the first steps of design process

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way I can create a lot of boars and put things integrated, links, etc. And work in a collaborative way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like so much the tool for prototyping, it is too limited and has some problems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use miro to see everything that I gather from each new feature I'm building in the same place, as I could do in a wall, but better because I can put links, videos and quickly revisit everything about that. But the thing that I most love about it is to manage those boards together with other designers, PMs, engineering and use it also for presenting what I found, the open questions and my ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is like an intelligent wall on your remote work. It can really help you in your work. Use it to visually see everything you know about a product, competitors, features, ideas, questions. It's easier to work when you see everything that was in your mind, in a board.
