Useful tool for team collaboration trough shared whiteboards

  • July 30, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are able to share screenshots of our work to provide a visual perspective of the team's achievements. With miro, our animation team can provide helpful information of our process to team leaders, and track every step of the process. In my particular case, we make downloadable "smart templates" of motion graphics videos. Our process includes conceptualization, scripting, animation, and UX design. Therefore, Miro helps us prove that we follow the guidelines during our daily taks and show our managers we are feeding the cocorrect information to the servers that host the template platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use texts a lot. Usually, our team leads write something and we have to modify this text or add more information. The problem is that TEXTS are sometimes hard to modify onece they were written. Let me give you an example. If my leader Writes "HELLO", the text box will remain that size. If I try to expand the textbox, it will increase or shrink the size of the text but not the space to write. So, if I want to add more words right next to the "HELLO" (whose circular handles are just in the perimeter of the text), the new words will apear under the original text because the textbox already has a horizontal constraint. Do I explain my self? In n other words, its hard to keep writing on the same line because it automatically creates another line. So, I have to create another text with bigger constraints. Heres a video I made thats shows the problem: https://recordit.co/hstfzHYbXf
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team leaders can see our entire process through our screenshots, instead of manually opening and exploring every photoshop project, after effects file, code scripts, website admin changes and checklist reviews. Also, we can provide the screenshots that prove we backed up all the files into the server after we finish our tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are not familiar with design software like Illustrator and Photoshop, you may want to see and read all the tutorials before starting so you can save time with shortcuts and tools. If you already have experience with Illustrator and Photoshop, you will be fine. It's very intuitive for Adobe users.

Powerful, easy to use whiteboarding app

  • July 29, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My team and I love the real time collaboration. Even though we are all of ther world, we all get together on Miro to work out ideas; it's pretty great considering the pandemic. We also and the integrations. Being able to use Miro within our comms apps is incredibly helpful. We can add Miro to our Webex space and keep it open to add or refine ideas when inspiration sparks. The plug-in integrations are great, too. Icon packs and templates really make projects move quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro cannot be used offline; I'd love to be able to work during my flight or with a sketchy internet connection. The only other things are maybe feature overload. Miro may have features that could help my team but I wouldn't know since I don't really have time to explore the app or watch videos. I've heard of things like tagging, voting, user notifications, and even directory search, but I've never seen official Miro comms about them or seen them in the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team uses Miro to diagram processes such as user journeys. Once we all get working, we can quickly identify silos and open them, risks and vulnerabilities, and redundancies.
At them moment, we are using Miro to diagram all of our user journeys through the digital lifecycle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the Miro integrations to make online meetings better and more engaging; even simple fun sketch events can make difficult sessions more fun and productive.

Robust, Essential, and High Functioning platform, especially for visual people

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how the options are easy to navigate. Every template has an explanation of what and why you would use it, so new users won't be overwhelmed. I love the features and functions; they are extremely versatile and flexible. I'm a visual learner so it's ideal for someone like me. It keeps me organized. I don't have an agenda at work, I use Miro for that. Excellent for team planning and organizing. I really like how they teach you how to use the platform through their university. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg, which is always a plus. It saves everything automatically, I NEVER have to worry about losing data. Great for brainstorming all the way to the execution stage.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not the easiest for non-technical people, if people aren't used to such a platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving organizational and admin issues, team efficiency, and my mental health; if I'm not organized it drives me crazy and stresses me out. If realized I needed Miro years ago.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's free to make an account. Try it out and see if it fits your line of work, it's definitely going to meet your expectations regardless.

Incredible collaborative tool for the first steps of design process

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way I can create a lot of boars and put things integrated, links, etc. And work in a collaborative way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like so much the tool for prototyping, it is too limited and has some problems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use miro to see everything that I gather from each new feature I'm building in the same place, as I could do in a wall, but better because I can put links, videos and quickly revisit everything about that. But the thing that I most love about it is to manage those boards together with other designers, PMs, engineering and use it also for presenting what I found, the open questions and my ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is like an intelligent wall on your remote work. It can really help you in your work. Use it to visually see everything you know about a product, competitors, features, ideas, questions. It's easier to work when you see everything that was in your mind, in a board.

A very flexible and collaborative tool

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to design clear visual items, add post-its, and so on. And it is fun (easy to add images, colors,...)!
It is very easy to use, to navigate in the virtual workspace, by swiping and by zooming in and out.
There are a few useful feature like a timer, a feature to bring everyone's screen to the same location of the virtual workspace (very useful when you get lost).
It is also possible to define the landing page for collaborators to automatically arrive where you want in the board (e.g. an "introduction" space).
What do you dislike about the product?
It is an additional tool that comes on top of other tools like OneNote, Teams' whiteboard,... but its features are worth it.
I regularly accidentally moving an object without meaning to, sometimes without noticing what I did.
The downside of the number of features is that it can feel a it overwhelming. It takes a little bit of learning time to know where the useful features are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows collaborating in real-time on a same visual a little like we would at an in-person meeting.
For example, as participants you can put up your photos with a bit of presentation. This point is even better than in-person meetings where it can be challenging to remember everyone's name and their info, whereas on Miro, you can go back there and look at the photos/names/presentations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a tool to help compensate the distance between collaborators, especially in this time of WFH and lockdowns, Miro could be the tool to help create proximity for real-time collaborative work.

Easy to use, constantly being updated and good support and community

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to learn and use but not lacking features. Integration with tons of apps make it even more powerfull.
The large community and shared templates provide with inspiration and tons of examples to quicky start a new project
Free account also provides enough features for small and ocasional users.

Very good performe either in the webapp and windows aplication.

Smarter than most other option, with the formating and default option being intuitive and easy to use.

exporting is also great, the only improvement would be to sort stick notes by color when exporting to excel.

tables are great and also easy to manipulate and timers are very usefull.

Voting works well, but still could be improved

Mindmapping i also usefull in some situation and is very capable.
overall very happy with my consultant plan. tons of options for a good price
What do you dislike about the product?
As a consultant working with clients and organizing large workhop I miss the fact that there is no "god option" so you block the canvas and everyone just sees what you see, you can still bring people to your "screen" but they can still go off and get lost in the canvas.

One option to temporary block the canvas and make everyone follow you would be a great add to the presentation mode

blocking elements on the canvas is still a cumbersome process especially if you have a lot of elements. would be nice to have a filter to select all the stick notes or all the non editable elements for examples. also i feel that it would be easier to have a layer approach instead of elements.

Videochat works good but still no option for rooms creation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with clients to organize and animate workshops .

presenting data and brainstorming with said clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with the free version for testing.
Look at the templates and community examples.
attend to the Miro organized webinars to get a quick start

Extremely useful & versatile brainstorming software 💪🏻

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So many different options, possibilities, templates, ... to be used to address so many different types of business situations
Also totally FREE as 'single use' allowing newcomers to really dive into it & use it for personal use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure I've gotten there yet ;-)
Perhaps the only thing is that there's sooo many types & templates to use that it's sometimes difficult to figure out which one would be best for what you're trying to achieve. But that's merely a 'luxury problem' ;-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently using it (by myself) to work out a completely new business concept. Once we will start with the development of this new concept, will DEFINITELY be switching to multi-user to involve the (initially external) developers & the team to further brainstorm & work out the more fine details of certain aspects.
But Miro REALLY helps in visualizing all of this!

Simple to use and collaborate

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro to create complex workflows. It has a rich collection of elements that help me create an easily understood workflow. It can be easily shared across the team. We also use Miro for online collaboration. The latency is almost zero even when a large team is working in real-time. Overall, it was of great help to me to running whiteboard sessions for group meetings while everyone was working from home. We use Miro even when I was at the University to have brainstorming sessions for our group projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The export and download option of Miro is not intuitive. There should be an import option where non-miro content could be uploaded. I do not like its pricing model. For e.g. Free plan users can collaborate on 3 of the most recently created boards. Overall, it was of great help to me to running whiteboard sessions for group meetings while everyone was working from home. We use Miro even when I was at the university to have brainstorming sessions for our group projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Online collaboration with the team in doing whiteboard sessions.
2. Create user flows for features in our product.
3. Document architecture diagram.

Good for creating user flows and flow charts

What do you like best about the product?
This platform is so Awesome! It is so easy to collaborate with team members and cost-efficient. It offers so many features which are fully customizable. Few things I like the best are:
1. The facilitators can bring everyone to the same place with just one click. Given that miro offers a pretty huge board, it's normal for the team members to wander around. This feature makes it so much easier
2.Provides a user-friendly interface and great user experience when you want to create a new board or flowcharts. It also offers pre-defined templates like a kanban board, mind mapping, quick retros.
3. Can create multiple workspaces and the onboarding access is so simple and intuitive.
4. It really does not need any technical skills to use this platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the export option to PDF and word documents does not work but it's not necessary to import every time.
It would be really good if miro introduces the paint feature and tools for creating simple wireframes.
It can have few other collaborative tools integrated like slack, teams etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. I am getting very intuitive insights from the miro app with the upgraded version. I am able to make business decisions in an easier way.
2. I am able to collaborate with other tools like Google Images and icon finder which makes it easier to import other images.
3. This has ownership rights which makes it easier to collaborate with other external team members if I have to give them the "Only-View" option.
4. So easy to add connectors, sticky notes, frames which are helpful in making my sketch look neat.
5. There is an option for writing a "note" or "to-do" list.

Not a perfect product, but powerful and continuously improved!

  • July 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is highly versatile and powerful in terms of features - it is perfect for product management. What really impresses me is, that Miro constantly takes user feedback into consideration and works hard on adding value. I have been using this tool since 2017, when it was still realtimeboard and it has improved A LOT! Also the customer support has always been extremely nice and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of usability issues in handling of on board elements (esp. post it's, tags & arrows). Unfortunately Miro does not yet handle very big (a lot of elements) boards very well. It tends to be somewhat slow and laggy at times. Also, if you decide to scale things to different sizes usually it is not very easy to keep the same shape. Tables and graphs are a little too basic in my opinion. The color system should be widened and based on hex colors to personalize properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Research (interviews notes, task modelling, proof of concept testing, affinity mapping etc.), Road Mapping (a lot of great templates!), Prototyping (sufficient libraries for most basic purposes), Workshops (interactive and exclusive organization is really easy like this and a lot of tools and templates make it fun, fun, fun!) - It is remarkable, how for a product manager you can use Miro for so many things! I is one of my favorite tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time to explore and keep discovering Miro has tons of gems to offer! And really consider to use the desktop version - it runs much faster and is way more stable!
