  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The number of different templates that Miro offers, from boards to personas and flows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of any right now. I think you have improved the platform significantly during this pandemic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Miro to facilitate Design Sprints for innovative projects. Identify the needs of specific markets or industries with stakeholders to pursue the development of new digital products in our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must-have tool for Innovation in the new standard (remote).

Collaborative platform that continues to evolve... but not always in a good way

  • April 30, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
The most important thing for us is that the platform serves our needs and client needs. We design and build workflows with our clients to deliver critical results. We are very visual in our board development; Miro allows us to serve not just workflows, but images and objects which prime clients cognitively. We also have access to tools that increase collaboration for clients to make decisions. There is also a strong community of contributors for workflow objects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I absolutely hated the New Year's present with button reassignment... Still aggravating and always will be... Simply said, it contradicts how most software is being used. Flip back and forth with software which Miro's prior button assign worked well. I use Miro daily and I still can't get used to using it the way it is now. The development team should have made this an option, not force users to use their software in such an unintuitive way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We migrated from Nureva's platform last year; we worked directly with them as we were their most sophisticated users. We had many in-person meetings with them and worked with their development team as well as senior leaders. When Nureva decided to abandon their platform, Miro was one of 2 suggestions. As we moved into the Miro platform, we immediately realized that it is a much more mature product that allows us to do so much more on so many levels. The primary benefits have been around space vertically and horizontally, as well as much more flexibility in designing right on the board. The most important feature is the ability to create templates which, as we continue to develop, allows us to streamline workflow and save so much time. I would also suggest that someone from the Miro team connect directly with us to see how we are pushing the boundaries on their platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We haven't found a better collaborative platform that meets our needs; we work with our clients, and our clients adopt using Miro as part of moving their work forward after we leave. Part of what we leave with our clients is the ability to do the work we do and leave them with our intellectual property, which is housed in Miro. When you go into Miro, look through the Miroverse and templates to see what is there to give you ideas on effectively using the platform. Go to the learning videos to kickstart using Miro.

Great collaboration tool

What do you like best about the product?
The limitless canvas, use of templates for very different types of diagrams.
Being able (since a few months) to lock object completely for other editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onboarding new users - in my case employees of clients - is rather difficult. You have to explain a lot and they are treated as new users of Miro, when they should be treated as my guests.
Billing clients is hard, on a consultants plan you have very little insight into what to bill which client.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating consensus, for instance in case of creating persona's for a client with 15 participants. Or working together with an offshore IT development team of 15 and sharing specs.

This just saved me during Covid - And now it's one of my core tools

  • April 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly create diagrammes and flow and capture discussions in an online meeting is just superior to anything else, in my experience. And the ability to invite workshop participants in, and let them work on the whiteboard as well. Just stellar.

Now I also use this just for my own thinking when I am preparing something or even in a meeting with a single colleague.

The well designed interface with easy keyboard shortcuts makes everything quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The shared workspace with colleagues gets cluttered real fast. Organization tools aren't optimal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online workshops. Benefits from going online includes

* Spared setup times, and faster capture of results compared to a physical workshop
* Better tools for switching between individual work and group discussions
* The super integrated voting tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it. It's great value. A great product.

good tools to collaborate and present remotely, especially during the pandemic

  • April 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All team members can online at the same time to work on project analysis. I can clearly collaborate with cursors.

Easy to draw a chart with a beautiful design.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using the frame inside the frame, it is really hard to accurately move the correct frame that I intend to move. Sometimes I put the elements into the embedded frame, but it is really hard for the system to catch If I hope to make a good figure.

The resolution of the free image export is so small, worse than a screenshot.

There is no voice chat feature like discord to discuss during the collaboration. We don't usually use video chat to do discussion, but to do a presentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Qualitative analysis to organize codes and themes with group discussions.
Also, use it to design flow charts, it is better than PowerPoint slides.

Easily to collaborate. Everyone is online and can drag the labels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The design and interface is really intuitive to use.

Miro makes my work easier to do.

What do you like best about the product?
- usability
- features
- updates
- community content

Miro has all the features I would need to work as a UX Designer or Service Designer. It's a joy to the eyes opening up a new board and setting it up for a new day's work.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could have some more wireframing details, like expanding the phone screen wireframe component.
Overall, I think it could evolve to something that is easy for everyone to use but can support even the most expert's demands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can conduct design sprints with ease; I can wireframe with components and icons that help me save time.

The collaboration space I've been searching for all my life

  • April 30, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
As a famous architect once said, there's nothing so terrifying as a blank page. Miro makes the vast, infinite space of the canvas inviting and easy to populate. Tackling the blank canvas involves making broad strokes, delineating space into components to help serve as containers for your thinking. Through templates, frames and various elements (shapes, sticky notes), you quickly block out the space for collaboration. The fact that it is designed with collaboration in mind makes the process of working with others on a board that much easier. We have routinely experienced both a reduction in the "time to insight" in our teams as well an increase in the quality of problem solving and solution development using Miro.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I actually dislike. Mindmapping is evolving (MindMeister, Mindmanager, Xmind are full-featured applications that show where it can go in Miro without becoming bloated). It really is a lovely experience workign in Miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are working on topics such as:
• Strategic Planning
• Group "Opportunity Framing"
• Continuous (Process) Improvment
• Learning & Development
• Program Planning
• Large Group Facilitation
• Using it as a virtual "war room" (although I don't like that term)

We are seeing (again) a compression in the cycle time to arrive at points of agreement, convergence, etc.

I've recommended Miro to companies and orgs where I've worked recently -- Sybo and ustwo games.

What do you like best about the product?
Remote group ideating on a blank canvas with many templates at my disposal. And new useful ones to discover!
What do you dislike about the product?
Slowdown after X images -- though we've made more boards to help.
Not very good integration with Google Slides for example. How do I use the Miro to make a slideshow?
Not quite a free mode that's easy for upper management to easily review. A bit of a learning curve for them.
Some challenges copying and pasting between Miro boards but also between Google slides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving Concepting as we work remotely. Remote moodboarding. Remote tracking. Streamlined kanban board for quick stuff, this one was new and exciting for the team to use (instead of the heavy JIRA). Using for sprint review -- still a bit clumsy but a good opportunity here.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make remote ideation, planning, and review delightful! Use Miro -- especially their professional feature set for extra delight. It's chock full of ideas and surprises.

Miro Review - Kirsten at Wolf Craft

  • April 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to import external websites. We help a lot of clients update and improve their web content so the ability to visually see several best examples next to each other is so helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an option for the calendar function where the dates didn't have to added manually to each task, what would be even more helpful and amazing is if there were a plug in for google calendar and you could choose to turn a task made in miro into a google calendar event, this would truly be a game changer for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use miro for internal planning but mostly for client work. We're a PR strategy firm so the client work is peer audits and content planning, the most valuable thing is being able to have everything in one place with examples, links, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Two complamentary features we've found very useful while doing remote client work- video conferencing within the app and the "follow-me" feature. This makes planning, presentations, and collaboration dynamic and clear for everyone on a call.
