Flexible and Intuitive – collaboration in many different tastes.

  • December 07, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the main advantages is the desktop app compared to web clients, nevertheless, webbrowser can be used as well. There are many tools available and vast workspaces – practically unlimited space. Miro is a multipurpose tool, für presentations, groupwork, seminars, brainstorming, documenting ... allowing a mix of structure and unstructured data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The license schemes are somehow less helpful, if you are involved in different teams, because you need a licensed seat in any team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is a tool for different purposes: We use it as a typical whiteboard, but we also collect documents, links, papers into the miro boards, this makes it to a project hub. Presentations can be done out of Miro, in a flexible and dynamic way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro offers so many different ways to work with – best to play around with it, before you use it in an external project! Check the different license schemes, some aspects may be less intuitive – for instance, being in different teams affords a license in each of the teams.

Miro is the dark horse of remote work

  • December 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive yet gives you freedom to create with very few limitations. I love collaborating across the platform and also building unique, bespoke virtual experiences using the platform for people to utilise without the need for advanced coding or complex software to make it work.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't make an element (such as a shape) into a click-and-go button or embed GIFs or webpages without having to press a 'play' button. I also wish that if I lock objects that the borders of the objects would be invisible instead of outlined.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving problems regarding remote work and collaboration, and also redefining what a virtual engagement experience looks like for students and staff.

A resource to energize the interaction of ideas between peers

What do you like best about the product?
At the beginning of this period of work at home, we were faced with new challenges in which our students had to interact effectively in real time. Miro allowed us to provide the information we needed to several groups of students, share their perceptions and keep them on a digital board
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that sometimes caused us difficulty, is in a way the great freedom of access to the boards, since in some moments the students edit important elements of the configuration of these and time is lost placing images or slogans again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What problems are you solving with Miro?
We solved having an effective means of contacting students in real time

What benefits have you realized?

The specific benefit is the feedback that we get from the students when they participate in our activities and that the other academic peers can visualize it to learn in a collaborative wa

What do you like best about the product?
Simple, clean interface - aesthetically, it’s beautiful. And the team is adding the right functionality in time.
What do you dislike about the product?
You fixed my dislike! Although it would be great to integrate with Spotify so power facilitators can use their own curated playlists for workshops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to mimic an in-person collaboration session with highly-visual artifacts. We use it to ideate and select options for our product ideas

What do you like best about the product?
Responsiveness, you can zoom in or out as much as you can and miro will do everything to make things fit.

Also that you just need to master 3 commands: copy, paste, and undo
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that sometimes you want to write something in a post it note or move them and suddenly a connector appears, it becomes annoying.

Also when people talks, we prefer to use google meet for audio while facilitating at miro
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Innovation workshops
Gamyfing meetings
Asynchronous collaboration boards
Recommendations to others considering the product:
-Send an in-advance tutorial for new users.
-You can do an asynchronous activity so people get involved before your workshop.
-Leave written instructions -step by step- for facilitator's support.
-"Bring everyone to me " command helps you to call everyone's attention.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create templates that can be shared across the team

Doesn't have great integrations with slack. I'd like to be able to quickly send frames to slack channels (Ex. Meeting recap frame)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making team meetings fun and creating a clear long term picture for our company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you use a whiteboard, need to create a plan for your team, or make meetings fun again, Miro is a must.

    Management Consulting

Irreplaceable asset for innovation consultants

  • November 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Workshop pre and post data collection and synthesis are a breeze, especially for team members not on the project or not in the workshop. We used to lose a lot of our "paper data" on the way back from workshops.

The ability to create an essentially limitless whiteboarding space is irreplaceable for consultants. It makes us appear as cutting edge and tech-savvy while maintaining that scrappy-innovative look.

clients have commented that the amount of content we are able to collect on Miro would likely take up their entire office space. We're performing and executing better work AND saving our clients money.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a learning curve. Definitely-- especially with our ~older~ audience. It takes them longer to pick it up. However, Millenials and Gen-Zs pick it up like second-nature. This is not necessarily a bad thing (again-- it's scrappy-innovator-esque and not everyone can pull that off).

That said, there definitely needs to be onboarding and training provided-- if it were built into the MIRO paid plan that would be very helpful.

Additionally, there are some features that I believe should be accessible to free users like downloading board images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run the gamut with our consulting group-- we focus, though, on people, process, and place oriented problems. Miro is usually used for collecting qualitative data for us-- though we know quantitative can work in Miro too.

It is a super easy tool to integrate with any design thinking exercise. I used it in Design Thinking School as well.
