Simcenter 3D utilizes external solvers for performing simulations, such as Nastran or STAR-CCM+. While this allows for powerful analysis capabilities, it also means users may need to manage licenses and dependencies on these solvers separately, potentially adding complexity to the overall simulation workflow.

Great 3D modeling software
What do you like best about the product?
Creating, modifying or testing 3D models is easy and done through a nice and easy to understand UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Appears to be very expensive (still using an evaluation version)
- Sometimes, performance can vary and is sometimes "sluggish"

Healthy experience with Simcenter 3D as a beginner
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part was that it is all happening in a single environment, without much changes in the UI, so learning the tool becomes much easier. And given that there are many solvers integrated and also that the software makes experimenting easier, learning the concept also becomes much faster. The tool is very user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The occasional bugs in the software might disturb the flow of work. Also, since the software is vast, learning it thoroughly or learning to simulate multiphysics problems might take some time. While some modules/solvers have excellent documentation and learning resources, others hardly have any learning resources, which could be a problem from a beginner's perspective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simcenter 3D solves a variety of physics problems, but the main problem it solves as a tool is reducing the loss of data and saving the time that might frequently occur when the files are being transferred from one software to another. And it solves it simply by being a solution where all the features of a typical CAE process are combined into a single environment rather than using multiple solutions for various stages of the CAE process. This benefits me a lot because I no longer have to learn multiple software to complete one simulation, and I am fully in control of the entire CAE process. Rather than depending on a person for one particular stage of the simulation process, I can do it all at my own pace.

Has solved the issue of inefficient product prototyping and testing due to the virtual simulation process. This has allowed time and cost saving in the organization.

CFD analysis feature helps in proper validation of product structure and model.This helps in improving design methodology.It is compatible with other FEA tools

What I like the most is the CAD Integration, Simcenter 3D seamlessly integrates with popular computer-aided design (CAD) software, allowing users to import CAD models directly into the simulation environment. It enables engineers to perform simulations on complex and detailed CAD geometries without the need for time-consuming model reconstruction.

The complexity and learning curve, because Simcenter 3D is a comprehensive simulation software suite with a wide range of features and capabilities. As a result, it can have a steep learning curve, especially for users who are new to simulation or lack experience in using advanced engineering software. Training and familiarity with the tool may be necessary to leverage its full potential.

Simcenter 3D is solving my design optimization problems, Simcenter 3D helps engineers optimize product designs by simulating and analyzing their behavior under various operating conditions. It enables them to identify potential design flaws or weaknesses early in the development process, leading to improved product performance, reliability, and efficiency.

It is a new segment of software. More training sessions and online webinars should be held in order to gain market share.If correctly marketed, the programme has the potential to become the industry leader in the CAE category.

Simcenter's thermal and electromagnetic simulation tools are expertly crafted to optimise product design, and the results are incredibly precise and dependable for our project.
Happy with NVH and Correlation Abilities
What do you like best about the product?
NVH module is good and seems to be more accurate. Integration with test solution gives a good hold on the results to evaluate in terms of details and comparison.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning content is really basic and the troubleshooting part is not comprehensive to help out the user quickly. Support ecosystem is not responsive enough to resolve the issue.

Simulation problems with multi-body systems and NVH problems with gears and transmissions with respect to multiple configurations including engines as well as motors.
