Quickbase allows very customizable solutions to common work issues.
What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase allows a lot of flexibility for creating custom Apps for different Use-cases. We've created apps for Tool and Inventory tracking, Marketing, and Project Management to name a few. The fact that there is a Mobile app also helps get the tools into more hands. If you really dig into it, you can customize it to exactly what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a little bit of a learning curve for the deeper development side of things. The positive of being a no-code creation is also a negative in that it's harder to implement programming deeper uses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Quickbase for a very wide variety of uses within our business. One of the main things is being able to convert archaic old inventory systems, and bring them to the modern age. What was once a single excel spreadsheet manually updated, is not a full application for inventory tracking. Our old way had a sometimes two week turnaround on an inventory check, and with the app it is believed to be down to one hour.
Quickbase has also helped improve how people here feel about the tools and technology they use. There was a lot of frustration with older apps that weren’t built well, but the new apps I’ve built in Quickbase have gotten people excited about what’s possible. It’s nice to see people actually happy to utilize technology to a fuller extent.

Flexible, Easy-to-Use Platform That Scales as You Grow
What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase is flexible and easy to use, even for someone like me who doesn’t have a coding background. I’ve been able to learn the system and build apps that meet our needs without needing deep technical expertise. The platform allows me to tweak and optimize based on what I’ve learned over time, which is helpful as our priorities shift. I also appreciate the training resources, like Quickbase University and the AI tools, which make it easier to build and improve apps. The ability to ask the system to create something and then refine it has been a big plus for me. It’s also great that Quickbase can scale with us as we grow and take on new use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features that do require more technical experience and sometimes the resolution time on requests is longer than I would have anticipated. But generally speaking, this is not the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Quickbase, we didn’t have a centralized system to manage all the events we produce globally across various divisions. Our organization is very segmented, and data was scattered across different teams and systems. Quickbase has helped us pull all of our events into one database, which has been critical for exporting data to other teams across the organization and for feeding into tools like Power BI and even our internal AI program. It’s streamlined processes that were previously manual and time-consuming.
We’ve also used Quickbase to create a work order system that replaces email-based processes, making it easier for people to submit requests and track progress. Another benefit is the ability to onboard new team members quickly and get them up to speed with the apps we’ve built. As we continue to grow and align as a global organization, Quickbase is becoming a key tool for tying together operations and improving efficiency.

Customizable and User-Friendly, but Account Management Turnover Creates Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Fully customizable platform that can be configured based on business needs. User friendly and intuitive. Supported our growth as a small company through early years.
What do you dislike about the product?
We consistently faced challenges with account management. Turnover at Quickbase seems to be relatively high. We struggled to communicate with the team during time sensitive transition periods. Communication recently improved due to renewal review, but otherwise was always a challenge during our contract.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customizable platform to our business needs; we have a unique model in mobility space that existing software/technology in the space did not capture.
Easy-to-Use, Powerful Data Insights for Our Logistics
What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase has been a solid tool for us, especially when it comes to managing the logistics of our food delivery program. One of the things I appreciate most is how well it integrates with other tools we use, like FastField. For example, we’ve been able to connect our bulk order forms directly into Quickbase, so every submission automatically creates a record in our Quickbase tables. It's very easy to pick up and lets us easily manipulate large amounts of data to gain incredibly useful insights on our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
More customizability would be very helpful. We've found a lot of utility with the Code Page feature, but it lacks a lot of elements that traditional IDE environments have, like debugging and support for file structures. Pipelines could also be a little more intuitive. Otherwise, it has been a very easy to use and powerful tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Quickbase, a lot of our processes were manual and tedious. For example, we used to track inventory and deliveries with pen and paper, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. Now, we’re working on building out an inventory tracking system in Quickbase, and even though it’s still in the prototype phase, it’s already clear how much smoother things will be once we fully implement it. Another big challenge was cleaning up data from external submissions, like addresses and emails. We’ve had issues with incomplete or incorrect information, which required a lot of manual cleanup in Excel. With Quickbase, we’re starting to explore ways to automate some of that validation and reduce the amount of cleanup work. Overall, Quickbase has helped us streamline our workflows and start moving toward more automation, which is a big step forward for our small team.
User-Friendly App Building with Strong APIs and Integrations for better data consistency
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about quickbase is how user-friendly and interactive it is to be able to create your own apps and develop ways on how to create records and databases that can rely with one another to ensure data consistency within the whole system. There are multiple APIs/pipelines as well that allow Quickbase to collaborate with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm just beginning with the whole developing part on the whole so it can get overwhelming to start even with all of the available resources for self-studying and other peers that provide support in giving more wisdom and knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems quickbase is solving right now for our company would be giving realtime updates on our pending items and records so that we can close them. Communication is a vital key for success in our business to which quickbase is providing. Right now we're working with our partners in quickbase that are very helpful and responsive to help sync that data between both our systems (Quickbase and SAP) to reduce data redundancy and improve data consistency.
Fast Prototyping, but Needs Better Engineering Tools
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Quickbase makes it easy to stand up stuff really quickly and get it into users' hands fast. The rapid prototyping ability is really great, and I appreciate how I can interact with it through pipelines and its query API. It's good for quickly standing up apps for our internal teams and iterating on them by getting user feedback. Also, the integration with custom software and other Quickbase applications is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a software engineer, I find that Quickbase breaks a lot of traditional software engineering rules, which is frustrating. For instance, you can't declare variables at the top of a pipeline and share them throughout, which I don't like. The UI could use a lot of work, especially in accessing logs and seeing how things ran. It's a painful process to sift through busy pipelines with every single step showing up, which is time-consuming. More traditional logging and the ability to search logs would be wonderful, especially when looking for specific IDs. Finally, the Solutions API is a very useful addition and I hope you continue to grow its capabilities. We have 4 environments (DEV, BETA, DEMO, and PROD) and being able to promote from one environment to another is a big help vs. by hand, but there are many more things that would be valuable there. For instance, being able to promote the ENTIRE app (schema, pipelines, and codepages) while mapping environment specific values from one environment to the next would be great. Also the ability to quickly standup a new environment and then merge its changes into another would be huge for teams of multiple developers (i.e. simulate branches in SCM tools like Git) so that multiple people can be working on a single release that will then be promoted to the next environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Quickbase helps us quickly set up tools for our operations team, sharing data seamlessly using pipelines and query APIs. It allows rapid prototyping, and the ease of standing up new integrations is valuable for connecting our custom apps.
Mostly Fast, Stable Data Store with UI—But Support and Transparency Need Work
What do you like best about the product?
If you need a data store with UI. A store you can share with customers and internally. The platform is very fast and stable. There are multiple ways to build the same solution depending on how much time one has to learn the details. The community is supportive and love to come up with a million solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
With proper support this service could be really good. The long term committment it would take is missing a champion capable of understanding humans. Product comes off as impatient and appears to have a different agenda than the customers. This difference leads to a lack of comminucation and transparency and thus confidence. Further, fit and finish falters as things break and no one fixes them claiming end of support (for years). One feels a resistance when talking with employees. Many employees express frustration by the disconnect between leadership and providing quality software. At the cusomer level the dysfunction appears as turbulence, high turnover rate, quota's and deadlines. The result is the Software as a Service model no longer acts like a service for the customer but a struggle. The software is good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Quickbase mainly to build standardization, communication and transparency within our organization.
Intuitive Quickbase That Makes Building Apps and Automating Reports Easy
What do you like best about the product?
We find Quickbase intuitive to use, especially as I am not an IT specialist - merely a daily, enthusiastic user.
By experimentation and trial & error, the logic within QB has allowed me to build the apps and databases myself. It's been a great learning process, and has been very successful.
A key feature is that I have been able to automate reports to send to project participants outside of our user group. It certainly beats creating manual reports. That said, it would really help if reports could be sent as attachments instead of being embedded in the email.
I have found it easy to share information and implement dashboards to other users in a secure manner.
QB's customer support is good although I would welcome a "pay as you go" option to assist with minor challenges that only require maybe 10 minutes of assistance.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to learn how to make the presentation more elegant with images and branding. I suspect this can be done, but would like some of tutorials to be available for this, and indeed for other things. Accessing direct support can be expensive for a small business like ours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QB allows me to manage a lot of client and project information, and at the same time access it, amend it, and share it easily.
Developer's Dream Sandbox with Robust Features
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Quickbase is like a giant sandbox. I enjoy the fact that if you can articulate an idea, it can most likely be built or solutioned in Quickbase. There are a lot of controls for the developer, such as code pages, formula fields, restructuring of tables, pipelines, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tracking where elements of Quickbase are used is lacking. For example, if I want to know where a report is used (perhaps embedded, perhaps referenced in a formula, etc) I can't get a good understanding of this unless I know from memory or do a deep dive into formula fields and form elements. I look forward to an easy dev, test, and production environment built into Quickbase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I build full-scale applications, dashboards, and reports. Quickbase is a giant sandbox with many developer controls like code pages and pipelines. You can build almost anything you can think of.
QuickBase Makes Cross-Team Information Access Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase makes it easier for teams across our company to access information. We use it for most of our day-to-day company operations. It's also super customizable for what our team needs, with the ability to easily integrate with our existing software. The Quickbase team is very responsive and helpful when we have questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really think of anything that I don't like about Quickbase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have several processes built into Quickbase that we used to have in other apps, but having them in Quickbase allows the information to carry across the team in an efficient manner.
