Intacct Contracts - Revenue SME

  • October 07, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Contracts Module - The Contracts module is simple to use once configured. MEA allocations are easy to generate, quantity billing is easy to manage and overall this module provides excellent improvements to unbilled/billed/paid tracking of the progress of your contracts.

The help database is very detailed and provides descriptions for every Intacct field and the community offers resources to add custom fields/ new reports/ document customizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I import templates directly into Intacct and via API. I would appreciate improvements to the error message, when an import fails I would appreciate more guidance on resolving an error message and possibly a machine learning suggestion on what the valid values for that field are or a n example of a valid value to review and re-import. To be fair this is a request I have for other ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite and SAP as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing Contracts/Revenue. As I mentioned above being able to easily see the unbilled/billed/paid state of contracts this saves alot of time with reconciliations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the time you spend outside of your ERP and review Intacct's capability to complete reconciliations within the software. Automatch and Integrations will save you man hours and take days off of your month end close schedule.

New User Says Easy To Use

  • October 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think the layout is what I like the most. It seems fairly intuitive and it's laid out logically. Very easy to navigate around the program. Plus the support from Sage administrative staff is very good. Our company team that rolled out Sage said it was a lot but the support was wonderful. I'm very pleased with the account tracking. So many features, it's nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a massive program and does a lot. That is a good thing but it's also a lot to learn. I think the help menu could be a little easier to use but I am still learning. Also, it can be a bit difficult drilling down without a bit of trial and error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We always had some issues with billing and having multiple locations under one company. Sage handles that quite nicely. Now our billing process is a lot faster and way more accurate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely give it a serious look. You won't be disappointed.

Robust Accounting System

  • October 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct is easy to use, extremely customizable, and can handle a large amount of data. Integrations with other systems like Expensify, Nexonia, and Sugar CRM is easy to implement and manage. Internal module add-ons like Prepaid Module and Fixed Assets Module makes accounting easier to track and manage.
Custom fields, rules, and reports are by far the best thing about Sage Intacct. Other accounting software limits options but Intacct will allow almost any customization you can think of. Being able to add multiple custom fields to transactions help us track and report more easily. For example, if we have a chargeback, we can copy the original transaction including all of its details to the chargeback transaction. We can then run reports to see the Customer's full picture of invoices, payment, chargebacks, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
We currently sync expense reports to AP Bills as opposed to Credit Cards in Cash Management. The reason for this is due to the Credit Cards requiring a General Ledger account for each to post to. When employees switched cards, we would have to set up a new GL account for each new card which was far too cumbersome. Since switching to the AP Bills module, this has alleviated the issue.

Another short-coming of Intacct is not being able to report cross-module. For example, the subledgers post in batches to the ledgers, so to see details you must report from the subledgers directly, however if an entry like expense reports posts directly to AP ledger, it wouldn't be in the subledger report. Not being able to combing Purchasing and AP in reports poses an issue when trying to see detail and the full picture. We tried an external reporting program to help mitigate this but the project was far too data sensitive and still didn't get us what we needed. We're able to use the custom reports in Intacct and we find work-arounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Sage Intacct, our company struggled with reporting of items per type and location. Intacct's customization allows us to group items by type and location which shows up cleanly on reports.

Expense reports were handled with manual entries which was time consuming, but after implementing Expensify, the two systems sync transactions seamlessly, reducing our monthly effort by at least 50%.

The global search function is also very handy when trying to track down certain transactions that may be in several modules. Instead of searching each individually, you're able to do a global search for an amount which will bring up all posted entries in all modules.

Dashboards have helped save time and manual running of reports for our decision makers in the company. They're able to see real-time sales and monitor marking efforts.

Memorized and scheduled reporting also saves a huge amount of time each month. We no longer have to run reports, the system automatically emails reports to users who need it. We try to automate as much as possible using Intacct and the reporting is by far the most valuable automation for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This system is by far the best accounting software I've used. The customer support is always extremely helpful and responds quickly to tickets. Quickbooks may be fine for very small companies, but if a company does any volume Intacct might be a better solution.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Excellent ERP hub to build out any mid-size company

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Intacct has a fairly intuitive user interface and a robust ecosystem with 3rd parties which offer excellent integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting is a bit clunky in the sense that it requires a bit of practice and training to get it there. Lots of room to improve the user-friendliness of this module. Most of the controls are very solid, but a glaring omission is the lack of approval workflow around adding vendors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementing Intacct brought us into the 21st century in terms of the ability to do fund accounting (as a NFP) and use multiple dimensions, which has allowed us to shrink our chart of accounts by nearly 90%. Their vast integrations have also allowed us to choose from many of the best 3rd party AP and Expense automation solutions.

Intacct is the best accounting software I have used.

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The software is very user friendly and it's easy to train new users. it's easy to run month end reports and modify reports. Very easy to add new departments or general ledger accounts. I like how I can navigate throughout the system. It's pretty easy to create any kind of financial report that you need, whether it's a standard income statement and balance sheet or something that shows year over year trends with variances. The audit trails in the system are good so you can see who has updated what. Many department heads find the dashboards helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
there should be a way to save reversing journal entries as drafts. Otherwise it's hard to make sure entries have been reviewed. I wish there was a way to save a personal report without everyone having access to it. When you have things set up on the console level, it adds some difficulties on the administration side. I have to reach out to support for help adding/deleting users sometimes. I don't like that I can't ask questions to Intacct directly, I have to talk with our Intacct partner and then they talk to Intacct. That can be frustrating depending on what you are trying to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quicker month end close, center directors have access to their results more quickly. We can easily prepare financial statements from the software. We have many users for the system, not just those working in accounting. They are able to see their numbers more quickly and drill into things on their own, saving time for accounting staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Talk to others who are using it to see what other software they are using that integrates with Intaccct
