Easy-to-Build Macros and Helpful Examples, but Frequent Freezing and No Auto-Save
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to build my own macros and find a process to standardize my data. The tools are easy to understand and there are also examples which I like a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that my canvas is freezing often and crashes are just a part of using the software. On the desktop platform there is no way to auto save after a specific duration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Within my job function I am provided new data weekly, from different companies. These all have different schema and different fields. In order to populate our data visualization templates we need to standardize and add info to our source data. Being able to do this in Alteryx where you can preview data and add steps anywhere is very helpful. Doing this in SQL would take 5x longer
Standardizes Workflows and Saves Time, with Room to Grow
What do you like best about the product?
Standardization, time saving and optimization
What do you dislike about the product?
Iterative marco troubleshooting process is bad
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tac compliance process. Help to standardize it.
Simple, Clean, and Easy to Use—But Version Connectors Can Be Unreliable
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and ease of use. Clean interface and bulletproof controls
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional crashes and connector issues between versions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bringing disparate data sources together
Alteryx is a very easy to use tool but too expensive to use for implementation purpose
What do you like best about the product?
user interface and easy to learn. Implementation was smooth
What do you dislike about the product?
too little features compared to competitive tools like Informatica
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx solves process streamlining problem and its easy to get started
Flexible Platform, but Onboarding the Skill Set Takes Work
What do you like best about the product?
flexibility of the platform for different use cases
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform and skillset to develop workflows takes some time to onboard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping us automate Excel based UDTs
Easy Drag-and-Drop Workflows, But the Python Tool Needs Work
What do you like best about the product?
Easy drag and drop to build quick workflows
What do you dislike about the product?
Python tool isn’t that great, and there are a few things that would be done much better through coding instead of using this drag-and-drop approach.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me integrate different data sources and transform the data based on user needs, including preparing it to feed dashboards.
Great for Data Transformation, But AI Features Lag
What do you like best about the product?
Democratization of the ability to transform and alter anything without coding experience. Vast documentation and user community support.
What do you dislike about the product?
AI features are lacking and disappointing. I do not see Alteryx as an AI-first technology. I will do all of my OCR, NLP, ML, and GenAI functions in other applications and then bring the inputs or outputs into Alteryx
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL and preparing massive amounts of data for mailing and geolocation purposes in an automated fashion.
Limited Cloud vs designer desktop/ ERP Connectors
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly to use and learn the tool. Easy to launch to team
What do you dislike about the product?
Designer only runs on PCs. And cloud is not as robust. Need more data connectors to ERPs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accounting workflows and automation
Simple for Transformations and Analysis, but Feels Like an Old Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It’s simple to use for doing transformations, and it also works well for data analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Old tool and few features are not available like informatica and ssis
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At CSX, Alteryx helps solve the problem of fragmented and manual data processes across operations, such as train schedules, shipment tracking, and maintenance records. Instead of pulling data from multiple systems and cleaning it manually in Excel, Alteryx automates data integration and preparation into a single workflow. This benefits me by saving significant time, reducing errors, and allowing faster analysis of delays, asset utilization, and performance trends—leading to quicker, data-driven decisions that improve operational efficiency.
Intuitive for Non-Technical Users, But Feels Overpriced
What do you like best about the product?
It’s great for people who are less technical, and it feels pretty intuitive to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s far too expensive for the software solution it provides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx lets me build data workflows and makes it easier to handle data transformation and analytics.
