Automated updates have strengthened security and save me time on daily device management

  • February 26, 2026
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Kandji is that within my organization, I have a Mac as my work laptop, and Kandji is used for self-service platforms so that we can download tools, as well as secondly, automated updates of tools such as the browser or the macOS version, so it is a security platform that is used for Mac administration, of which I am an end user of it.

A specific example of how I use Kandji in my day-to-day work is that rather than having to watch for updates to Google Chrome, the browser I use, or updates to the OS, Kandji notifies me of that, and then it comes with an automated pop-up so that I can upgrade to the latest version, allowing me to quickly update instead of needing to check for updates myself or potentially vet them from a security standpoint.

What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features Kandji offers are its UI, which is very clean and clear to use, not overly cluttered, allowing me to see the icon of all the different apps that I can install, and when I click on the little icon in my toolbar, it shows me any updates which I am able to install, making it very easy to use.

The clean UI and ease of use definitely save me time, probably cutting the time in half for trying to figure out when to install updates myself, because the notifications are pushed to me, which is good since I want to keep my system up to date without interfering with my workflow.

Kandji has impacted my organization positively by definitely increasing security because it notifies you when an update is ready to be installed, and if you do not install it within a reasonable time frame, it would automatically install it, which is good, and it probably has saved at least 30% of my time from manually having to look for updates since it just notifies me when the update is ready.

Kandji's automatic installation feature ensures our team's compliance or security posture, as it makes sure we are up to date and all on the same version of a particular tool, which is very important for a technical IT team to avoid differences that might affect functionality.

What needs improvement?

I have not been involved in the purchase process of Kandji, but I understand it is very Apple-centric and they have very recently come out with support for Windows or Android, although I do not believe the features are still on par with their features for Apple.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kandji for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kandji is highly stable, and I have never had an issue with reliability in the last few years of using it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kandji handles growth easily for our organization as it allows purchasing additional licenses for further users, so I have seen no scalability issues.

How are customer service and support?

I have never interacted with Kandji's customer support, which reflects the tool's high reliability and the lack of need to do so.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Jamf Pro in another organization and believe my organization currently uses Kandji because our fleet is on macOS and Kandji is optimized for Mac.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Kandji, estimating that time saved is at least 20 to 30%, as individuals do not have to figure out which security updates to carry out themselves since the notification is pushed for them to review and install.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that their pricing structure is bucket-based, requiring licenses to be bought in large groups, which is not an issue for my organization due to a large employee count, but could be a concern for smaller organizations, and the pricing is not published publicly, requiring interaction with sales representatives for details.

What other advice do I have?

I highly recommend Kandji to others looking into using it since I have not seen any game-breaking issues; it is highly reliable, scalable, improves security, and reduces the time individuals need to spend on system configuration for security updates. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.

Rock-Solid macOS Management That Just Works

  • February 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Iru for macOS management for the past few years, and the biggest thing for us is reliability. It just works. New hires receive a Mac that is ready on day one with the right apps and security settings already in place. Updates and policy changes happen in the background without creating disruption. For a team that is mostly Mac based, that consistency has made a real difference
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a bit of a learning curve early on as we refined our policies and figured out the best way to structure things for our environment. It took some upfront time to get everything dialed in. Once it was set up properly though, it has been very steady.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Iru, managing Macs felt reactive. Manual setups, chasing updates, and double checking configurations were taking more time than we wanted. Now provisioning is automated, security policies are enforced consistently, and we are not constantly putting out small fires. For a lean IT team in a regulated biotech company, that time savings and improved control over our macOS environment has been extremely valuable.

Clear, Real-Time Tracking That Boosts Efficiency and Accountability

  • February 03, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Iru is the tracking feature. It gives clear, real-time visibility into activities and progress, which makes monitoring tasks and workflows much easier. Having everything tracked in one place reduced follow-ups, improved accountability, and helped me spot issues early. It noticeably improved efficiency and saved time compared to manual tracking methods.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tracking feature could be improved in terms of customization and performance. In some cases, it lacks flexible filters and advanced reporting options, which makes it harder to analyze data for specific time ranges or use cases. Occasional delays in updates also reduce real-time accuracy. Adding more configurable tracking views, faster refresh times, and exportable reports would significantly enhance the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iru solves the problem of fragmented and manual tracking by centralizing all tracking activities in one platform. It improves visibility, reduces the risk of missing updates, and makes it easier to monitor progress in real time. As a result, I spend less time on follow-ups and manual reporting, decisions are made faster, and overall workflow efficiency has improved.

Game-Changing Automation and AI Insights in One Streamlined Device Management Hub

  • January 31, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The automation and AI-driven insights are absolute game-changers. Iru has successfully unified Apple, Windows, and Android management into a single, sleek interface. The "Auto Apps" library is particularly impressive—it handles patching and updates for over 200 applications autonomously, which has drastically reduced our IT ticket volume. The zero-touch deployment via Apple Business Manager works flawlessly every time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The transition from the Kandji branding to Iru was a bit sudden, and while the AI features are powerful, the learning curve for advanced "Assignment Maps" can be a bit steep for new admins. Additionally, the list view customization in the admin console could be more flexible to allow for better filtering of massive device fleets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iru solved our fragmented tool problem. Before Iru, we were using three different tools to manage Macs, Windows PCs, and mobile security. Iru unified these under one lightweight agent. It has automated our security compliance (CIS Benchmarks) and ensured that our remote workforce is always patched without manual intervention. This has saved our team roughly 15-20 hours of manual labor per week.

What do you like best about the product?
Reliable and does its job well. Easy to use to deploy standardized configurations, prevent configuration drift, and keep apps up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Windows support is somewhat newer. I don't use it to manage Windows, but might be a downside to some orgs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardized configuration enforcement is essential to any cybersecurity program, and Iru makes that easy.

Easy-to-Manage macOS MDM with Solid Security Features

  • January 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Iru has made managing our macOS fleet significantly easier. Device enrollment and policy management are straightforward, the UI is clean, and day-to-day administration is reliable. The Vulnerability Management capabilities have also been useful for improving visibility into endpoint risk and overall security posture.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can be a consideration as the environment scales, but overall the feature set and support quality help justify the investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iru provides centralized device management and security enforcement for our macOS environment. It helps us standardize configurations, maintain compliance, and gain better visibility into endpoint health, which reduces operational overhead and improves security

Extremely Easy Apple Device Management with Helpful Alerts

  • January 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is extremely easy to use and manage Apple products. The device alerts allow me too quickly diagnose issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some reason it keeps disconnecting and unmanaging my apps. I am sure this is something on my end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding a user has become so easy. I am a Microsoft IT specialist and shy away from anything MAC. IRU has allowed me to manage Macs with confidence.

So Easy to Use—App Updates Just Work

  • January 27, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to use. Especially compared to our previous mac MDM solution. It also works really well. Under our previous system we consistently struggled to deploy updates to Keynote/Numbers in a timely manner. We had to rely on on our MSP to package them. Even when they were packaged and deployed on time, our users often couldn't update. Our IT desk admin spent hours in meetings uninstalling apps so users could reinstall via self service. In some cases that didn't work, so we had to temporarily unblock the app store for users. Iru just works. We added the auto app to our library and no one has had to think about it since. We also were able to handle the migration from our told MDM to Iru fully in house. Setting up blueprints and ensuring compliance with various security frameworks is very intuitive. There's a huge catalog of auto apps available, but adding custom apps is super simple too. No additional packaging software required (aside from a profile editor, but that's not strictly needed).
What do you dislike about the product?
Remembering exactly where each setting is controlled can sometimes get confusing- but the AI support chat agent is very well trained and helpful in these cases. List view customization/filtering options in the admin console is the biggest piece that's missing for me. Several of the fields on a user record are unavailable as a display on the device list view. I would love to be able to instantly see a view of everyone who had installed a certain application or is affected by a specific error message. You can get around this with tagging- but it's annoying if you want to see something quickly and don't plan on re-running the search again. The alerts page shows device name, but not user name, so if i want to reach out to that person i have to go into the device record to see who it belongs to. The over all features make up for small UI annoyances
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's ensuring we are in compliance with SOC2 frame work and it allows our users to easily download/install/update approved apps without needing to involve IT or have local admin access.

Compliant Device Security Platform

  • January 27, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like is the way it allows us to manage the organization’s devices. It offers several types of profiles that help with managing Mac devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don’t like is that with the new interface, I can’t see how many devices I still have available under my plan. And the new helper chat feels more slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a SOC 2certified organization, it provides device profiles, EDR, and enforces the use of mandatory applications across the organization, which helps streamline and support our audit process.

Easy to Use with friendly Customer Support

  • January 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the customer support. Their in-app documentation makes it easy to do the routine tasks, like refreshing our keys with Apple each year.
What do you dislike about the product?
Microsoft mgmt just released, wish I had it 2 years ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeps our laptop applications up to date, reduces the time to onboard new hires, lets us do remote support and remote wipe, enforces security policies liek disk encryption. These are required elements of our compliance.
