Modern MDM Done Right: Kandji’s Winning Formula

  • April 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Kandji is how it balances simplicity and power. The platform is incredibly easy to set up and manage, even at scale, but still offers deep functionality like seamless ABM integration, strong automation, and a solid library of integrations. On top of that, the included support is top-notch—responsive, knowledgeable, and not an upsell like with many other MDM vendors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s very little to dislike about Kandji. If anything, I’d love to see a bit more flexibility in certain workflows and more depth in reporting over time. That said, the platform is actively evolving, and Kandji’s track record gives me confidence that those refinements will come.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Kandji for end-to-end Apple device management—everything from zero-touch deployment through ABM, to enforcing security baselines, managing app distribution, and maintaining compliance. It’s our go-to platform for streamlining onboarding, managing updates, and ensuring consistent configuration across our Mac fleet.

Effortless Device Management with Powerful Results

  • April 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Kandji is how simple and intuitive the platform is to use, without sacrificing power or responsiveness. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, making even complex tasks—like deploying security controls or managing device configurations—feel effortless. Despite its simplicity, it’s incredibly effective, with automation features and real-time monitoring that ensure devices are always compliant and up to date. Kandji strikes the perfect balance between user-friendly design and enterprise-grade performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where Kandji could improve is in its integration with Microsoft Entra ID for device compliance. Currently, the compliance check primarily validates whether a device is enrolled and when it last checked in. While this is useful, it would be much more valuable if additional parameters—especially those aligned with CIS benchmarks—could be assessed as part of the compliance status. This would provide a more comprehensive and security-focused integration, ensuring devices meet a broader set of standards before being granted access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji is making a huge difference in both the end-user and admin experience by streamlining critical workflows like zero-touch onboarding, app patch management, OS updates, and more. It takes the complexity out of deploying and managing Apple devices, allowing new users to get up and running quickly without manual intervention. For admins, it reduces time spent on repetitive tasks and ensures devices stay secure and compliant with minimal effort. This has significantly improved operational efficiency and user satisfaction across our organization.

Kandji Works

  • April 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Coming from Apple Business Essentials, the most helpful thing about Kandji is simply that it works. Basic device management tasks—like setting up iOS devices, erasing them, and pushing apps—just work right out of the box. It’s reliable, intuitive, and delivers on its promises. My team loves using the software and wishes more mobile device management products offered this level of experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback is the price. Kandji is significantly more expensive than some alternatives, which may be a barrier for teams with tighter budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji gives us full control over our Apple devices from the moment they’re ordered. We can ship devices directly from Apple to any location, confident that they’ll be automatically set up with the correct security configurations, applications, and settings. If a device needs to be reset or adjusted, we can make those changes remotely from the Kandji portal. This level of automation and control saves our team significant time and ensures consistent, secure device management across the board.

Very intuitive and functional MDM solution for Apple computers and mobile devices

  • April 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about Kandji is that it effectively manages Macs in an enterprise. Some upsides are how intuitive it is, the Auto-App functionality, the number of tasks you can do to devices remotely, and how much it helps with standardizing your organization’s devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
It keeps going up each year significantly in price. Also one request that we get a lot from users is to reset their password. It would be nice if we could do that very simply from the Kandji admin console and push it to the Mac.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji helps us to standardize and automate the deployment of and management of our Apple devices at our university, where it wasn’t really done before.

What do you like best about the product?
Things I like best about Kandji are:
- The UI is super easy and friendly to use—everything feels intuitive.
- Our Account Rep team is awesome to work with—shout-out to Makenzie!
- Kandji keeps rolling out new features all the time. Assignment Maps has been an amazing addition—we’d been waiting on that one for a while.
- Things are really easy to build out of the box, whether it’s Self Service or new profiles.
- They’re always quick to support the latest macOS versions with profile support (like the new Apple Intelligence stuff), which is huge.
- I love the Auto Apps—just wish there was an easier way to create custom ones.
- Liftoff is super slick for setting up new laptops—makes onboarding a breeze.
- Managed OS has been great for staying on top of updates and keeping things consistent across devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Things I think can be improved on are:

- Better reporting on devices, PRISM is a great start
- Support for GitOps Operations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji makes it easier for us to streamline device management, seamless onboarding for end users with Self-Service and Liftoff, and helping us stay compliant and secure with auto-apps and managed OS.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, and learning curve when switching to Kandji is great.
The Interface is easy to navigate and intuitive.
It seems like every week Kandji is making improvements and enhancing the system to better serve it's customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike, more of a wishlist... It would be great if it could incorporate windows devices, as our fleet is split and we would like to have everything in one easy to use platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji's Auto App Library is taking a large amount of work off our plates by managing those updates for us so we can focus on more important things.

Kandji simplifies Apple device management with precision and power

  • April 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji’s seamless integration with Apple devices is outstanding. The user interface is clean and intuitive, which makes policy deployment and compliance monitoring incredibly efficient. Its pre-built automation and remediation scripts save a great deal of time for IT teams, and the support team is highly responsive. The platform also integrates well with identity providers like Okta, which enhances security workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Kandji offers robust Apple device management, finding detailed USB activity logs can be difficult. For security-focused environments, easier access to such logs would improve incident response and monitoring. Adding a more intuitive way to track USB usage would be a valuable enhancement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji helps us maintain control over all Apple devices in our organization with ease. It eliminates manual configuration by automating device onboarding, enforcing security policies, and enabling remote support. This ensures compliance with ISO 27001 standards while saving IT time and reducing user downtime. Kandji’s remediation and automation tools significantly boost operational efficiency and endpoint security.

Kandji listens to feedback from their clients

  • April 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Library of pre-configured system settings and applications is very useful. Especially when it comes to a small team where packaging or scripting settings and installations can take long periods of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
An improvement I would suggest is trying to add management capabilities on iPads that are not enrolled via Apple Business Manager. Even if that ability is to restart the device, it would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Deployment of known applications on users' endpoints.
- System Settings alignment with known security baselines.
- Zero touch endpoint deployment.
- Applications and OS patch management.

Manage your fleet without the operational burden

  • April 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji makes it easy for IT teams to deploy a feature rich MDM tool to all of your Apple devices. It covers any technical or compliance needs for MDM. I chose Kandji because other competitors, like JAMF, required a lot more time up front to implement it and too much resourcing to maintain it. MDM should be simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
initially, Blueprints were inflexible in terms of where you could apply them. However, they released assignments maps about a year or so ago which helps us in nuanced use cases.

Pricing is always a concern, but they have demonstrated that they'd work with us on that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji helps us meet our compliance requirements, but also helps us set a high security standard across our fleet of Apple devices. In addition to security hardening, there are ease of use features like self service and auto-apps that keep our employees humming.

A Perfect MDM for your Apple Devices

  • April 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Kandji as an MDM solution because it's modern, user-friendly, and highly automated features. It offers a clean interface, strong security features, and powerful device management tools that are easy to set up and maintain. Kandji’s automation with Blueprints and its large library of pre-built device controls save a lot of time and reduce manual work. It’s also very responsive to new Apple updates, making it a great choice for organizations that want seamless, up-to-date management of their Apple devices. Kandji's online support is one of the best support that is currently out there. Their support is accurate and helps resolve your issue almost instantly and if they are unable to, their higher level engineers will assist you.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment, I don't have any particular dislikes about Kandji. The platform has been reliable, intuitive, and effective for my needs. It provides a smooth user experience, from initial setup to daily management, without unnecessary complexity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji has dramatically improved our laptop deployment process, reducing configuration time from about three hours to just five minutes. Previously, setting up a laptop involved multiple manual steps, from installing applications to configuring system settings and security policies. With Kandji, all of this is automated through Blueprints and device enrollment workflows.

Reformatting a laptop has also become incredibly straightforward — once a device is wiped, it can automatically reinstall all necessary profiles, apps, and settings without IT having to intervene manually. Additionally, pushing updates, whether for macOS or specific applications, is seamless. Updates can be scheduled or enforced remotely, ensuring that all devices stay current and secure with minimal disruption to users or IT staff. Overall, Kandji has significantly improved efficiency, consistency, and user experience across our device management processes.
