Infrastructure Solutions

AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that offers the same AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any datacenter, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience. AWS Outposts is ideal for workloads that require low latency access to on-premises systems, local data processing, data residency, and migration of applications with local system interdependencies.

AWS Wavelength is an AWS Infrastructure offering optimized for mobile edge computing applications. Wavelength Zones are AWS infrastructure deployments that embed AWS compute and storage services within communications service providers’ (CSP) datacenters at the edge of the 5G network, so application traffic from 5G devices can reach application servers running in Wavelength Zones without leaving the telecommunications network to take full advantage of the latency and bandwidth benefits offered by modern 5G networks.

Local Zones

AWS Local Zones are a type of AWS infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database, and other select services close to large population, industry, and IT centers. With AWS Local Zones, you can easily run applications that need single-digit millisecond latency closer to end-users in a specific geography. AWS Local Zones are ideal for use cases such as media & entertainment content creation, real-time gaming, live video streaming, and machine learning inference.

Rugged & Disconnected Edge

AWS Snowball, a part of the AWS Snow Family, is an edge computing, data migration, and edge storage device that comes in two options. Snowball Edge Storage Optimized devices provide both block storage and Amazon S3-compatible object storage, and 40 vCPUs. They are well suited for local storage and large scale-data transfer. Snowball Edge Compute Optimized devices provide 52 vCPUs, block and object storage, and an optional GPU for use cases like advanced machine learning and full motion video analysis in disconnected environments.

AWS Snowcone is ruggedized, secure, and purpose-built for use outside of a traditional data center. Its small form factor makes it a perfect fit for tight spaces or where portability is a necessity and network connectivity is unreliable. You can use Snowcone in backpacks on first responders, or for IoT, vehicular, and drone use cases. You can execute compute applications at the edge, and you can ship the device with data to AWS for offline data transfer, or you can transfer data online with AWS DataSync from edge locations.

VMware Cloud Migration

VMWare

VMware Cloud on AWS is an integrated cloud offering jointly developed by AWS and VMware delivering a scalable, secure and innovative service that allows organizations to seamlessly migrate and extend their on-premises VMware vSphere-based environments to the AWS Cloud running on next-generation Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) bare metal infrastructure.

Hybrid Database Services

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) on AWS Outposts allows you to set up, operate, and scale fully managed Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in your on-premises environments. AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any datacenter, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience. Amazon RDS on AWS Outposts provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity for on-premises databases, while automating time-consuming administration tasks including infrastructure provisioning, database setup, patching, and backups, freeing you to focus on your applications.

Hybrid Containers Services

Amazon ECS Anywhere gives customers the ability to run Amazon ECS in their own data centers using the same cloud-based, fully-managed, and highly-scalable container orchestration service they use in AWS today. Amazon ECS Anywhere provides customers with consistent tooling and APIs for all container-based applications, and the same Amazon ECS experience for cluster management, workload scheduling, and monitoring both in the cloud and in their own data centers.

Amazon EKS Anywhere is a new deployment option for Amazon EKS that enables you to easily create and operate Kubernetes clusters on-premises, including on your own virtual machines (VMs) and bare metal servers. EKS Anywhere provides an installable software package for creating and operating Kubernetes clusters on-premises and automation tooling for cluster lifecycle support.

Hybrid Connectivity

AWS Direct Connect links your network directly to any AWS Region or Local Zone, bypassing the public internet entirely for more consistent, lower-latency performance.

AWS Site-to-Site VPN creates redundant encrypted connections to AWS in minutes, over AWS Direct Connect or the public internet.

Amazon Route 53 Resolver provides recursive DNS between your AWS and on-premises networks over AWS Direct Connect or AWS Site-to-Site VPN connections.

Storage

AWS Storage Gateway is a hybrid storage service that enables on-premises workloads to use AWS cloud storage. Capabilities such as File Gateway, Tape Gateway and Volume Gateway help manage hybrid cloud workloads, backup and restore and disaster recovery use cases.

AWS Backup is a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the back up of data across AWS services in the cloud as well as on premises using the AWS Storage Gateway.

AWS DataSync accelerates and automates data transfer from on-premises systems generating or using data that needs to move into or out of AWS for processing. By using an on-premises software agent to connect to existing storage or file systems using the Network File System (NFS) protocol, it removes the overhead of modifying applications to work with AWS APIs.

AWS Transfer Family securely scales recurring business-to-business file transfers to Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) using SFTP, FTPS, and FTP protocols. Easily manage file transfers and modernize transfer workflows within hours by using existing authentication systems.

Identity Management

AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory (Enterprise Edition) enables directory-aware workloads and AWS resources to use managed Active Directory in the AWS Cloud. Connect AWS resources with an existing on-premises Microsoft Active Directory and manage policies with existing tools.

AWS IAM can be used to grant employees and applications federated access to the AWS Management Console and AWS service APIs, using existing identity systems such as Microsoft Active Directory.

Resource and Deployment Management

With AWS System Manager, customers can manage servers, view and automate operational data on AWS and in their on-premises data centers through a single interface.

AWS OpsWorks is a configuration management service that helps customers configure and operate applications, both on-premises and in the AWS Cloud, using Chef and Puppet.

AWS CodeDeploy automates code deployments to any instance, including Amazon EC2 instances and instances running on-premises. AWS CodeDeploy makes it easier to rapidly release new features, avoids downtime during application deployment, and handles the complexity of updating applications
