We use PRTG Network Monitor for our network monitoring and server monitoring, and it helps us significantly during downtime activity by providing all the alerts we need.

During a major incident six months ago, when our alerts were screaming around 2:00 AM, PRTG Network Monitor made a difference when a cascade of our core switches and servers went critical. During maintenance windows or patching, we used to receive false alerts, but since implementing PRTG, it has saved us thousands of dollars and has become a boon for us by providing convenience and being time and cost-saving.

There is always room for improvement in PRTG Network Monitor. Although the reporting module is functional, I feel it is a bit clunky compared to the rest of the interface, and it would benefit from being polished for future use.

While PRTG Network Monitor is priceless, the interface could be more refined and engaging.

The pricing for PRTG Network Monitor could be decreased a bit so smaller organizations can afford it, though larger organizations can definitely manage it since it saves them significant money.

My main use case for PRTG Network Monitor is monitoring jobs.

A specific example of a job or system I monitor with PRTG Network Monitor is the network devices we use to check the connectivity between the websites and the jobs that are running to keep them up and running.

The best features PRTG Network Monitor offers that I find most helpful allow me to analyze and check the jobs and what is causing the issue and why it is happening. I actually found one critical job which we did not notice by ourselves, but this tool found it and helped us so that I got a good appreciation from my manager. This has been very useful for us to monitor these kinds of jobs.

PRTG Network Monitor helped me find that critical job through an alert which sends us reports on a weekly basis, and based on that, we found the failed job.

PRTG Network Monitor has a good dashboard that shows each and every piece of information, so we can easily find out what is happening with the systems. If anything is going down, I can easily identify and fix it immediately and make sure our systems are healthy.

PRTG Network Monitor has positively impacted my organization as we are not seeing any critical issues or major impacts for our applications, our servers, and our networks nowadays. Because of this monitoring dashboard, we can easily find out what's happening and fix everything on the fly. Before that, it was very difficult to check what happened and where the servers were impacted and which servers got impacted if any major disaster happened.

I don't see any major issues with PRTG Network Monitor, but I want to mention that sometimes the error messages are too vague and don't directly tell me what went wrong. If they improve that feature, it will be beneficial for us.

There are no other improvements I think are needed for PRTG Network Monitor.
