Solodev DCX is a content management (CMS) and customer experience (CX) platform that lets government and education organizations collaborate on their digital transformation in the cloud – all powered by AWS. Simple to use for non-technical staff yet robust enough for web developers, Solodev DCX helps teams work together to build advanced websites and API-driven applications, share and review ideas, and publish content with little to no code.
Solodev includes advanced CMS features, access to PHP scripting language, Apache, MySQL, and MongoDB all on a single web server with an external Relational Database Service (RDS) MySQL database. Leveraging the redundancy, security, and scalability of AWS, Solodev integrates with key cloud services within the AWS stack, including Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon RDS, and many others. Solodev offers several versions of its DCX platform in AWS Marketplace.
Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS), a Premier National School District, serves nearly 70,000 students across 67 schools. In order to position itself as a high-performing school system, SCPS recognized it would need to upgrade its dated and resource intense websites.
SCPS turned to Solodev’s AWS-based platform, which helped non-technical staff collaborate, refine, publish, and update content over time. While many private school websites can cost upwards of $100k, SCPS saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in development and licensing costs while empowering its staff to take ownership of web content and make it ADA accessible. Leveraging Solodev reduced the burden on SCPS’ IT department and improved the quality, accuracy, and search engine capabilities of SCPS’ web presence. The SCPS website program was awarded the AWS Public Sector "City on a Cloud" Award for its innovation, delivering what many have called the "K-12 Website Model of the Future."
With Solodev, we're now able to communicate to our constituents (students, parents, community, etc.) in a much easier and defined way. Visitors to our site are now able to find what they're looking for within 1 or 2 clicks of their mouse and have multiple routes to find the same information based upon how their brain thinks. On the back-end, the Solodev CMS is simple and easy-to-use – thus making updating the site a breeze. We're now able to make instant changes, helping us keep our content fresh and current.
