I want to send higher volumes of email through Amazon SES. How do I increase my sending limits?

By default, accounts are placed in the Amazon SES sandbox, which enables you to configure your infrastructure and evaluate Amazon SES. The sandbox has the following restrictions:

  • You can only send mail to the Amazon SES mailbox simulator and to verified email addresses and domains.
  • You can only send mail from verified email addresses and domains.
  • You can send a maximum of 200 messages per 24-hour period.
  • Amazon SES can accept a maximum of one message from your account per second.

When you’re ready to send higher volumes of mail to email addresses that are not verified, you can request higher sending limits by following the instructions at Moving Out of the Amazon SES Sandbox. Note: Sandbox status and sending limits apply on a per-region basis, so you must request sending limit increases for each region individually.
