Application containerization facilitates seamless cross-platform functionality

    Reviewed on Jul 08, 2025
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The use case for Docker on Amazon 2023 is when you have an application and need to containerize it. You can create a Dockerfile, which is a file with instructions about what you need for your container. If you need a specific operating system to run your application, in the Dockerfile you can put the operating system that you can use in your container.

Principally, we are running microservices with Java, using the Spring Boot framework with Docker on Amazon 2023.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, one of the best features with Docker on Amazon 2023 is that it's easy for transport; you can use your application on other operating systems. If you always have the container runtime, you can use your application at all times on each computer.

By each computer, this means on each operating system.

    What needs improvement?

They could incorporate AI for researching vulnerabilities and for the resolution of the vulnerabilities.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience with Docker on Amazon 2023 has been five years.

How are customer service and support?

The support with Docker on Amazon 2023 is good; it's a 10.

It's good support because it's a good platform. When you research solutions in the community, it's easy. If you follow the instructions for Docker on Amazon 2023, it's a good product.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I don't use other solutions before Docker on Amazon 2023.

    How was the initial setup?

Setting up Docker on Amazon 2023 is easy; you install Docker on your operating system, and you can use container registries to download the image.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I haven't evaluated other options for personal use, but it's the same concept.

What other advice do I have?

This solution deserves a rating of 9 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
